Eating family style is the way to go. I think it's more of an Asian culture thing because that's how I grew up. Whenever I go out with my American friends, they always end up ordering their own food, but when I'm out with my Asian friends we just order everything and it all gets shared. Cultures are so different, not just cuisine-wise but food customs as well. Like when I'm out with my American friends, I still ask if they want to try some of my food and they look at me like I'm crazy or something

Jay is a huge beauty. Best service I've ever had you can really tell how much he cares
You have an amazing life! Very cool to see you having your own ambitions and carrying on your parents’ love of food in your own way. Great content!!!
I volunteered about 6 months at Lee in 2010/2011, learned a lot from that time! It was cool to see Jonas and Brian on Iron Chef years later after working with them so long ago
I hope you truly appreciate how blessed you are to have him as your father. I’ve seen you skip his stories sometimes and it’s bothered me. It makes me think you don truly realize how LUCKY you are. You can have all the creativity with videos that you want, but if he wasn’t your father, none of this would have been as possible as it is WITH him. And HE is the one who worked his ass off for his and your fame. Never forget that.
Finally checked out Korean Village - amazing food and Jay made us feel at home 🙏
Visited Lee in 2018 during my trip to Toronto from the uK and it is one of my fav restaurants to date - great service great food and great value for money. Hats off to Susur
The slaw is hands down one of my favourite dishes I've ever had the pleasure of eating, Lee on king is amazing if you're in Toronto it's worth the visit.
Yessir appreciate that plug for all these restaurants 🔥🔥
Thank you for your videos, I would have just gone to any old restaurant last time I was in Toronto but instead I looked into where your dad's restaurant is and went there and had the most amazing meal of my life.
There is an Italian restaurant in Toronto called Mamma Martinos which is amazing. It isn’t a fancy place more of a casual family owned place but the food is great. I recommend the Penne Al Bruno if anyone goes!
I live basically next to Country Style and man I'm so glad that place and Korean Village are still kicking. Killer Bee has been my favourite flavor @ NOB for years too. Great video.

It's a bit far from downtown but Poong Moon in North York has the best Korean spicy noodles in the city. The beef brisket + seafood jjamppong is a must try if you like Korean food. The place next door Ahzimae ZipBap also has a soup called Busan Style Pork Soup which is incredible. My wife moved here from Korea a few years ago and we'll go to Christie often for convenience from downtown but the trek to Finch area is worth it for these dishes!
I used to live in Toronto and one of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried for lunch was Pow Wow Cafe. Native breakfast food. Mildred’s temple was amazing too. I can’t stop thinking about Pow Wow though
Totally agree on the pizza nova. And love the hospitality at korean village bbq, oldest korean restaurant in the city, owner always brought out these amazing frozen grapes dessert ❤
I grew up watching your dad on tv, and I was shocked to discover your two channels. Hilarious and still great food 😊. BUT I was certainly shocked to hear you grew up in Toronto as well! Gotta check some of these restaurants now
i truly love how humble and down to earth this dude is
I love korean cuisine too especially korean bbq with lots of sides and lots of greens to go with the meat. Lovely couple. Lovely vid

Hey Jet- I lived and cooked in Toronto back in the '90's at Chiado on College St. Your dad knows it pretty well, I think. I would love to see you do a video there!
Love this style video! Please do more!
The Singaporean Slaw looks sooo delicious. I’d love to visit Jay’s Restaurant. ..I love share appetizers as well. Sydnee looks so pretty with her glasses 🥰 I like ur hairstyle (sorry 2nd time I’ve mentioned it☺️)
Also, if you are looking for a sweet spot a little outside of town, whip over to the Red Rooster in Eston, SK. Best fries and gravy.
Jet, I love your content. Tbh, I one day just came across Levi’s stuff and started watching it but then he’s too much for me (definitely not in a bad way though cause I could see why he has followers). You’re just more mellow and down to earth which is very refreshing for a dude your age.

Great that you support other restaurants!!! ❤
Nice recs man, have to agree with u on burger drops it goes crazyyyyy. Some favs of mine gotta be koh lipe, badialis pizzeria, aloette, dumpling house, and roselles/le gourmand for some dessert :)

Marked in downtown Toronto truly my fave restaurant and so unique I bring all my friends who visit me there and they’re always truly Impressed
Some of my favourite Toronto restaurants are, hanmoto, Seoul shakers/ shakers Club, gushi, macs pizza, Aloette, grandma loves you, bar isabel, katsuya, miku and DAM sandwiches
I live near Bellwoods and I'm big into a lot of the restaurants you mentioned Jet, if you wanna know some other good ones here are my favourites (apart from some you already listed) Arabesque (shish kebab + arabesque coffee) Peppers (honestly everything) Superpoint slice (I'm sure you've already had it) Sugo Donnas (roast beef sandwich) Jumbo empanada (cheese, beef, extra salsa) Logas corner (beef/pork plus pickled onions) Bitandos (panzerotti + sauce)
Breakfast - avenue open concept Lunch/dinner/late night - anything on Yonge and finch is bomb! My personal favourites are … -chicken in the kitchen -magic noodle -petit potato -MeNami udon & sake bar - the famous owl of Minerva - aijsen ramen -hot star -katsuya If you go more down to like Scarborough area - midland specifically… -flaming kitchen -DM Chicken
I just got back from toronto the other weekend. I wish I would have seen this video before I went. Great stuff man!
Good call on the eggs benedict, also one of my fav's, can't beat that hollandaise sauce! I think it's me second fav though as my main fav is a nice omelet with cheese and veggies
I'm from the States, but have family in Mississauga, ON - Pre covid we'd visit 2-3 times a year. MUST visit every time we visit is Sake Sushi - in Woodbrige ON. A little bit of a drive, but well worth it, in my opinion. Love the content and the videos!
If i ever make it to Canada. Absolutely gonna try these.

Best dad ... Best cook
Ever taken your dad to "Ginger" vietnamese restaurant? Their cooked chicken meals are so good. There's one on Yonge st and another on Queen.
Wuddup man - first time watching your vids this week and commenting - had no idea you were in the area.. shout out to your dad! loved watching him when I was younger... your dad and Robert Rainford were two of my favorite chefs growin up. Do you guys eat any middle eastern food? There's a gem of a restaurant near Square One I think you need to feature!!
I can truly say this having a great father growing up, still work with him everyday till this day. My biggest regrets in life is not trying, he never told me he’s disappointed or made it seem like that at all. But as I get older I realize I am practically my dad and I can see things the way he does. So I can see the ways he tried to make me be a better person, I can see what failed, and I see that him never giving up on me Was the single reason I am who I am today. I failed at so many things, but he always gave me a chance. I’m embarrassed of failing now, I do my best in everything. How do I tell him I want to kill myself When I have everything
I've absolutely loved this vlog. Jet you need to do more of these reals. Don't get me wrong I love your dad. But I also like your individual stuff. Love you Jet. From Kenny
I’ve watched many of your video but I never knew you were from TO and that your dad’s restaurant is there. I’m in Ottawa and will definitely come visit this summer!!
I rarely go to Toronto but I really love going to Maker Pizza when Im in town
Some obvious downtown gems are Swatow and King's Noodle, but if you're willing to go to a bit further out Congee Queen and Wonton Chai is amazing!
It’s been a while since I’ve watched any of you or your brothers videos. Mutey Bent-Lee has come a long way lol.
King's Landing is probably my favourite restaurant. Great value and the quality is better than most restaurants downtown.
Great video! I highly recommend King Dimsum and Swatow! Both in the Chinatown area. King Dim Sum has a fancier vibe to the whole place but the staff have been there for years. Swatow on the other hand a is a smaller, chinese cuisine restaurant, they're always open late and again the staff have been there for years. Highly recommend either of the two.
I always loved the shoes the waitress wore no heals no toes and laces. My Dad used to take me to the Brunswick House and then schnitzel, yum! We live in Riverdale and love the food and vibe at Mimi's great. Vietnamese and we have been taking our kids there since they needed boosters now 26 and 30. They are well loved and I enjoy seeing other locals there! riversale
Like you said I used to think honey on pizza was weird af but it’s so fire, deffinelty worth trying if you haven’t
Lee's is hands down best restaurant I've ever been to! Slaw is everything!!!!!!!
Singapore slaw is easily the best salad in the world. So delicious. I usually get it with a piece of salmon from Kid Lee when I am in Toronto.
that editing for the Singaporean style slaw was just top class sir
Jheeze come through with the Mediterranean tan. And respects for shouting out Jay’s business, the story alone makes me want to try it out when I’m next in Toronto
Nice video! Been watching a couple of your videos since it popped up in the KZread recommendations. I am from Singapore and I was a little surprised when I saw the Singaporean style slaw. Well, at least, it looks more authentic than "Singapore noodles" 😅 (which we rarely find in Singapore, except maybe xing zhou bee hoon 星州米粉). The Singaporean style slaw reminds a little of Yusheng 鱼生, which is a salad served with raw fish (seafood, abalone slices) during Chinese New Year. It is a fun salad that is tossed with everyone pitching in and saying well wishes that each ingredient is supposed to represent (e.g. fish 年年有余, pomelo 大吉大利, plum sauce 甜甜蜜蜜). Running a restaurant (or any small business) is hard work, so I hope that business is back to normal for everyone.
Try a restaurant called Adrak. It’s an Indian restaurant near the corner of Avenue and Davenport. It’s relatively new (opened during COVID). And, it’s really good, but on the pricier side
Try Gyubee Japanese BBQ. I’ve been to many Asian bbq but I think it’s the best one in Toronto. Also congee queen is coming to downtown, amazing Chinese food the turnip cakes is a must
Impressed Sid, the salad is so complex!
ur an amazing content creator Keep it up!!
Best Shawarma is in Mississauga, called Al Zaeem. Get the chicken Saj and make sure to get the special sauce
Hey Jet... grew up on Bellwoods St. and I haven't been downtown in years (maybe more then 15 - 20 years). I have to make an effort and try some of these spots. Thx for video. :)
The last place was heartwarming ❤️
Bro PLEASE try Chicken Place in North York. Family run Greek spot with probably the best Greek chicken sandwich ive ever tasted, they’re mayo is to die for, super nice people as well!

You should try MrPuff ! It been in Montreal for over ten years now. I heard they just open one in Toronto (near). It is super good.
your video came at the right time!! going to toronto next week! and idk where to go lmao
That pizza actually looks sooo good wish that chain was up here in edmonton. I’d say a very light amount of honey on it would be my order request for sure. I highly recommend Korean food too, the more authentic and less westernized the better tasting that goes for 90% of Asian country originating foods, menus that barely have english on them the better it is.
Woo Sid collab! Love the video Jed I mean Jet 🤣. Welcome back home friend
Greetings from Hungary. I love your channel. You should try the Goulash soup and if it's possible the Hungarian one.
country style SLAPS. I would recommend that you get a side of the dumpling gravy to dip the schnitzel in. so BOMB. BTW.... Badiali is a lot better than north of brooklyn.
Try the organic press in Kensington market for smoothie bowls, and veggie d’light for rotis.
Try Yueh Tung (behind city hall), their Chilli Chicken is legend. And I especially like the chilli fish - dry, and Butter Chicken Factory....
Killer bee is my fave at North of Brooklyn also. Pizza Nova is good, but I think Mama's is the best large chain. I also like Detroit based Little Caesar's ( deep dish pepperoni ONLY). Yay for supporting Korean Village Restaurant. It's funny you've tried fancy Michelin starred food from all over the world, but one of your faves if the humble Korean cuisine. You are so right that Korean food is all about a social and sharing experience.
yep Pizza Nova for chain but the best neapolitan pizza in toronto is Via Mercante on Augusta st ..believe me take it from Italian /Canadian born and raised here and way older than you.
I've gotta try that slaw now. Taking my girlfriend there for sure. Some places I've enjoyed in Toronto: Tut's Egyptian by King and Spadina Yasu by Harbord and Spadina (expensive, but sushi is incredible) Kinoya by King and John is a more affordable daily sushi; their non sushi offerings are amazing The Diner's Corner just south of Bloor on Yonge has some amazing authentic Jamaican food Rasta Pasta in Kensington is a must try if you haven't before Momofuku is a Toronto staple, every native knows of this place Siempre by Front and Spadina has some nice breakfast offerings
Nice list! Based on your taste I'd say try Joso's (near Yorkville) or Mercado Negro (St Clair West).. both have fire seafood among other things. Equal to or better than some of the places on your list. Also Santouka Hokkaido Ramen, it's bomb. Last edit: Nome Izakaya, they have buck a shuck on tues/weds and great food in general. Japanese sports bar vibe
