I think this is why so many have an issue with the videos of eating excessive foods like that, Because it’s not respecting the life it lived or the effort put into how it came upon the plate. People say it’s something they eat in there home, their culture and it’s their business, but I eat things people don’t normally eat as an Inuit that are different than others in the 48, and I could tell you i understand it from the other side, it’s not the product most are upset over, it’s how you respect it. My people would kill me if I just downed my share of whale or caribou, like that because it’s so utterly disrespectful. I would even put my money on the people who eat the food who lived the area it comes from, would be equally as upset if not more if food shortages happened at some point and they saw the video.

The bad spirit is called Gluttony. Even if people don't engage in the stuffing their faces themselves, they are encouraging people to do muck bangs... Which is pure gluttony. They enjoy watching someone get destroyed by that bad spirit. It's sadistic, because at some point you realize the person doing the muck bang no longer enjoys it, but somehow feels obligated to do it, (Like for money or just to feel seen... it's sad) increasingly making it more extreme...
