The most fascinating part of this video to me was actually the Manulife account getting $100 every month… I’m renting now but that really got me thinking. Why NOT have a few hundred bucks going towards real estate every month? Home ownership is more of a “maybe in 10 years” thing for me right now but hell, 10 years of small deposits can add up 🤷🏾♀️
@ZoePritchard

yessss that’s EXACTLY how I feel about it! And $100 on auto deposit you don’t even notice it 🙈
You seem so much happier financially which is great to see! -- It's crazy how I randomly watched your lifestyle creep video after KZread recommended it, and now you are the entire reason I set up my own one month ahead account!! I recently moved out into my own apartment and it has been soo, soo helpful in terms of feeling financially secure. Hope you are doing well!
Small goals are for me too!! This got me motivated to set my financial goals!

A really helpful video, I started cash stuffing this year and I'm loving it so far. I used to use the cleverfox budget book and it was so useful. I've now created my own Excel doc and I'm loving it. I've made it personal to me and pretty in my opinion
The one month ahead expense is the best thing I ever did for my finances! I contribute half of my expenses every paycheck to it (I get paid bi-weekly), and so I always know my essential, fixed bills will always be paid! I have a separate account for spending and another for bills, so my one month ahead is in my bills checking account. Makes things so clear. Another great video and finance tips, Zoe! 💓
This is inspiring thanks for sharing awesome tips sis! I'm financially free and currently growing a solid retirement plan. It takes a positive and consistency to learn new things, unlearn the old habits ms Important to get a mentor/coach to lead you all the way. It's great to start young too!

Hi Zoe:) I am a fellow Montrealer (born and raised) and l now reside in Manitoba. I'm so happy I found your channel as I have been on a new financial journey. I am officially debt free and implementing the cash envelope system since 2 months ago. People are always so intrigued when I take out my cash envelope wallet and share with them what I am doing. This has been a game-changer for me as I am realizing how much money I have spent in the past on useless things. This really gives me the financial picture of where my money is going. So proud and cant wait to continue following your journey. Much Love, Pamela xoxo

It’s so fascinating hearing about student debt from someone in the UK. For us it’s litterally the last thing on our mind and no one willingly pays it off in full. Depending on how much you make it comes out of your payslip and is forgiven after 30 years. They can only take out money if you earn a certain amount I think it’s 28k and it’s something like £5 a month obvs the more you earn the more they take out but it’s probably nothing more than £150 a month which is very small in comparison.
Love finding Canadians my age sharing advice on personal finance!! I haven't browsed your full catalogue yet to see if you've done it before but I would love a video on your experience with WealthSimple so far, and your strategies for your accounts there. Hiii yay, thank you & welcome 🎉 I don't have a full video on it, but I mention them throughout my monthly $$ videos. Overall I'm very happy with the platform and my accounts. For my emergency fund I use their high interest savings accounts & I also use their invest (funds) and stock trading too :) (*not financial advice, just what i do*)
Hi Zoe, this was another great video. However, did I hear you say that you carry your cash envelopes around? If that's the case, I personally would rethink that given the fact that people will stop at nothing to take from you, especially with the way the economy is. Or you could lose it, or lay it down while you are paying for something, and forget to take it. It happens all the time, with people and their cell phones. They say it only takes a moment of being distracted for something like that to happen. I would hate to see that happen to you with all the hard work you do. Maybe if you are going out for coffee, or something to eat, just take a certain amount out of the proper envelope.
@ZoePritchard

Hi! Thank you for caring 💖 I don't carry the binder around, I usually just grab a single envelope for what I know I'll be doing. I carried it for the first week and then saw all the comments like this and was like WAIT DUH THIS ISN'T SAFE haha

Hi!! I'm not 100% sure at this moment, I would have to look back at my previous budgets... but I would say it's maybe around $100 month less (maybe more on months where I ate out a lot!)
Just a thought but you could be using your TFSA for your house goal instead of a regular savings account. This way when you are older, making more, and buying the house you won't get taxed on your withdrawal which will include capital gains. However, with a regular savings account you will get taxed on the capital gains and possibly at a higher rate than today depending on the growth in your income. RRSP also has a first home tax free withdrawal but you have to pay that back over X years.

Hi!! It's a TFSA that I put it into :)
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

4 years ago I was living paycheck to paycheck, working 40hrs a week, High school drop out with a GED. 489 credit score with an eviction, Repo and collections. Got into real estate but ran into unqualified clients that didn't qualify for a mortgage because of their credit I found this home based business in here on KZread and it just made sense.

This opportunity has changed my life ❤️ My credit score increased tremendously, I become a multiple 6 figure earner, I'm able to finicially support my family. I now have the time to and luxurious life I've Dreamt of. All thanks to Mrs Kathy. God will surely bless her abundantly. Now I advice others to go into crypto trading. It's the independence and financial freedom for me 🥰🥰
I used to use cash envelopes, they are very effective, but that was back in the 2008s because we didn't have internet banking, now a days I take advantage of the technology as I've never been really good with counting change and usually got taken advantage of. Now with cards I can pay faster without counting 3 times the bills before and after paying. It all depends on the person I guess. It makes no difference in my psyque money is money for me whether in cash or a card.
I'm going to try and not spend the rest of the month. I find that when I'm having a grumpy day or the suns not shining I tend to go and shop on amazon. I need to find a way to stay off and use the stuff I have. I'm trying my maze bank I got for Christmas I'm not opening it up till my anniversary from my job.
I generally prefer paper too. Its easier to remember when you actually write it down for me.

Thank you for subscribing!! It's really a personal decision and I cannot give true financial advice. What would I do in this situation? First see at what interest rates your debts are at. If its credit card debt at 19.99% (for example) I would pay that off first as you cannot earn that much interest on your savings. If the interest on the debt is low you could do both, however it really depends what you are comfortable with. This is a good question to look up and read some articles about! I have an old video where I sit down with a financial advisor and we talk about this. Here is the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqqhpK-iZK3Vc9o.html

I never understood that money envelope method. How do you pay bills, Netflix, etc? Such a hassle. I’m certainly not paying the bank to order checks and worry the bill payment might get lost in the mail. I use a digital budget tracking app and check my cards and have savings transferred from my pay check right when I’m paid
