I saw a video a long time ago were someone did a clean stainless verses a painted black same stainless and it did appear that the black painted one boiled faster. I just like the campfire look my self :) Great cook set you have put together. I like that the Stanley lid fits a lot of the cups even my titanium cup. Thanks for sharing my friend atb John

Buy a file to round off the two ends of the Stanley Adventure kit handle, ditch the unnecessary wrapping for it. It will not pierce the bag; it will detach and refit easier. Add use the handle sliding lock bar; furthest away from pot when inserting or removing the handle, and when folding it up or out for use. AND your bale/fish hook holes are 90 degrees out. One above the handle, the other oposite. You can't use the handle to pour or hold whilst drinking. Liquid will just come out of the misplaced hole. Suggest getting a bigger bag, You spent an age feeding it in past the tight zipper. Not much on the Stanley Flask, but you may have covered it in another video. But thanks for the videos.

I did about the same as yours but with some different items. Using the Condor H20 pouch. Starting at the bottom of the of the pouch there is a Oilcamp Stainless Steel Space Saver Cup. Then the Stanley Adventure Cook Camp System which fits ( sits ) inside the cup. The tapered sides of the Stanley Camp Cook kit fits inside the cup like it was made for it. Along the outside of the Stanley is a long handled Titanium spoon. Inside the Stanley is the Gen2 Folding Firebox Nano Ultralight Backpacking 3" Stove. On top of the Stanley is a Trangia Alcohol burner so I can cook with either alcohol or wood. The outside pocket of the Condor has a plastic ( Flask shaped ) bottle which has the Denatured Alcohol for the Trangia. Next to it is a fero rod for lighting the burner or starting a fire. Folded next to the fero rod is a bandana which can be used if the handles of either pot gets to hot for a bare hand to touch. All of it together makes one small complete cooking outfit. Thanks to using a wood fire mine has a nice blacken bottom and sides to it which I think helps it to heat up quicker.

Nicely done Dave. Well thought out. You do have room in that front pouch to add a lighter and/or a ferro rod. Always nice to have a ready fire source with your cook setup. I also have that Stanley "cup" and it's nested in a cup like yours. ....and indeed that Adventure Cook Cup is one of the best values on the market!!! That vented lid is great for making cowboy coffee....just pour through the vents and literally no grounds in one's cup. And I agree with you about leaving the black on the pot. The main difference between you and me is our environment....in your forest, you make your excellent tripods to hang your cook pot...but here in the desert, wood is at a premium to say the least! Ha! So...it's in the coals for my cooking. The Adventure Cook Cup (pot) also works very well on the small folding Esbit stoves with their solid fuel cubes, burning at 1300 degrees. And these cubes, with that temperature make great fire starters as well! I'm really enjoying this series. Thanks Amigo!

+Charles Larson Thank you, Charles! Yes, I always have lighters and ferro rods around, depending on the cook kit that I carry on a particular day. This is such a nice little cook pot. It's so interesting that so much of the equipment carried and used depends on region. I really love hearing about the regional differences. I will use the trangia right inside of my Emberlit stove a lot and its perfect, as well! I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the series, my friend! It's great to have you here! -Dave

+HighCarbonSteel Love Indeed, I have lighters and ferro rods stored all though my kits/bags. And yep...out in your woods, fire is King!! But for us desert dwellers, it's water. However...I live in southern Arizona....up in northern Arizona, like in your country...cold and snow with lots of water as well... fire is king up there. Arizona offers so many different climates to experience...just got to take your pick. At this time of year, many who live in the north roll down here for the mild winter climate...and then return to the north to escape our 100+ degree summer. We call them Snow Birds! LOL!!!! However...Tucson is home to the southern most ski resort in the USA!!

+John “survivor johnny” Tewelow Thank you for watching, brother! My pot stand for the trangia are the "stoves" that the bush pot and canteen cup come with. I don't use them over the fire or over coals, I use them as my trangia wind screen/pot stand. They work perfectly! Other times, I will just put the trangia inside of the Emberlit stove and that works well, too! Next installment will be our beloved MSR Seagull! Stay tuned, my good friend! -Dave

I was wondering, couldn't your trangia fit above the water bottle in the space under the top of the H2o pouch? you would free up space In the front pouch if you do that.

+Michael Alvarez Unfortunately, the trangia doesn't not fit into the top of the H2O pouch, however, whenever I switch around this setup, I have other area in my pack to keep the trangia. Thank you for watching, Michael! Nice to hear from you, my friend! -Dave

Hey brother....I finally got a moment to check out a few videos on the ol' you tube! You my friend have been busy too! It's funny but of all the gear I want it seems like most of it falls under the cook pot category. I just got a solo stove 900ml pot and have not even used it yet. It is similar to the mors pot you were showing, but smaller with no bail handle. However, now I got my sights set on a Heavy Cover Titanium canteen cook set....ugh! Will it ever end? Do we ever settle? Take care my friend and keep em coming...

thanks for the video. My cook kit also includes the stanley adventure cup and the walmart gsi cup. I have been looking for a pouch to store this gear with an eye on the condor h20 pouch. Is there any way to get the stanley cup in the pouch without removing the handle? I know people who have removed the inner padding to gain a little extra space. Any idea if a small fuel canister (primus from walmart) would fit in the pouch?

+Robert Mena Thank you for watching, Robert! That is a very good question about the handle. I have never tried it, as I have always removed the handle. I will try it and let you know. I have never tried it because I nest my Stanly water bottle inside of the adventure cup. I am not sure about the canister. Its a pretty roomy front pouch and I am able to keep the adventure cup, handle and trangia alcohol stove in it. I hope this helps, brother! Great questions! -Dave

You can get the small fuel canister (if you're talking about the isobutane stove fuel canisters) to fit upside down in the bottom of the Stanley pot.

I purchased the stuff sack in a pack of 3, very cheap, from walmart - www.walmart.com/ip/Outdoor-Products-Ditty-Bags-3-Pack/36549837. I am not sure of the exact size but it was the middle size - not the larger one and not the smallest one. I hope this helps, my friend! Let me know how you like your bottle pouch! -Dave

Try turning it sideways with the lid on and the handle closed and baking bread in it. That might finally melt your tab. Realistically, most people will probably never melt it, but it's not a bad mod, regardless.
