My Civic Si has a cracked Header

I've noticed a power difference and ticking noise coming from under the hood or car on my 2007 civic si lately, so I decided it was time to jack it up and see. Time to figure out if I want to get the skunk2 header welded or grab something new. Stay tuned for update, enjoy.

@Gerb Productions The new Skunk2 Header was revised last year and the new designed is for 8th gens with k24 swap, so no more spacers needed at the rear mount.
How’s the flex pipe? Idk how much flex those things actually have but maybe replace that as well while you’re doing exhaust work?
i have the plm v2 made 233/198 with intake header exhaust, not fbo yet with my k24. Plm v2 made to fit the 24 and its a great header. competes with the skunk2. ive raced people with skunk2 in my old k20 and i would beat them or it would be a good even race. Skunk2 and plm make almost the same power 2-5 difference at most
PLM v2 header FTW! I’ve had it for 3 yrs now n no probs also made a difference n it’s cheap

Frank swap 8th gen here plm makes a k24 header i suggest doing that i found it more aggressive than the skunk 2 alpha.

Also yes u need a flex pipe my exhaust brackets kept breaking before i had one welded in.
Are you running a flex pipe? No flex pipe usually causes headers to crack

No. Either that, slight rust, or age. Doesn’t help I tapped a curb with it few months back 🤦🏼♂️

I also would recommend hassport motor mounts. My first one cracked on me, but I dont run a flex pipe and my replacement header has held up after the mounts were swapped. OEM mounts allow for so much motor flexing and vibration transfer that I am now convinced cracked my header far faster. @@TheGerbsteve
You should see carbon trail at the crack or maybe at the gasket.

Gerb, did it sound like a subaru almost? Did a new header fix your issue?

Unfortunately, I never ended up getting a new header because my engine blew a few months back....
K tuned or maybe DC headers gerb?

I’d probs go ktuned, but I think I’m going to just get this skunk2 welded for cheap. We’ll see
You should pull off the header and have it rewelded.

gotta take the gasket off. see wat it looks like. i blew mine on a pull. uve been pulling for 4years bro. take the header gasket out n see wats up good luck

Different engine, had the original k20z3 few years back
