My Cancer Journey: Chemo Round 2 and Giving Myself a Neulasta Injection

Here’s how chemo 2 went... I’ve also done the next day and included my injection that I take for growing the white blood cells in my bone marrow! Exciting stuff ;)

Binge-watching you because I'm about to start my first chemo on Friday, and I'm on the exact same regime as you (AC every two weeks for 4x + Taxol every two weeks for 4x - but I'll have surgery at the end to remove what's left of the lump). Thank you for making these videos and really laying things out there! :) Like you, nausea is my biggest chemo-fear and I'm a bit terrified about how my body is going to respond (I think I'm on 4 or 5 different nausea meds though, plus I can take Gravol every four hours). Hope you're doing well now (but I suppose I'll find out when I catch up to the present-time videos). Much love!

I’m watching your videos now. I’m on day 4 past my first chemo and struggling. Thank you for being so open and honest with your journey here. It’s so, so helpful for those of us going through this now. My first chemo was steroids, Benedryl, HCTP. I’m stage 2A, grade 3, ER/PR/HER2 + BC. And I’m hopeful that going through this and seeing others such as yourself having gone through this, it gets easier. 💕

I was diagnosed with breast cancer this past November. However my Oncologist started me with the Taxol. I have 3 more rounds before I start with the AC chemo. Thank you for sharing because you are helping me with knowing what to possibly expect. I feel your pain when having to stay away when kids are ill. It’s hard on everyone. You are brave and strong!

I’m so sorry to hear your news! I’m day 5 after second round AC right now and it’s honestly been so much better this time - the steroids are helping I think! It’s still rough but nowhere near as bad! Sending big hugs 🤗 Stay strong xx

Thank you so much for sharing openly and honestly about your cancer journey with such grace. I found out just today that after my bi-lateral mastectomy from seven year’s ago, my breast cancer has metastasized. I got away with no chemo or radiation the last time. I will not be so lucky this time. I have been holding it together today until I saw your post as to how you were treated by the healthcare industry meanwhile shouting at the top of your lungs that something was wrong with you and no one was listening! That was the first time I broke down and cried today. I cried for you and the despicable way you were ignored, and I cried for myself knowing what the road ahead was going to look like. Really helpful tips, thank you. As soon as my port goes in I’m planning on shaving my head right up front so I can donate to Locks Of Love. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful pointers, and that it will be okay to have a rotten day here and there. My sister in 💝 thank you for allowing me to not feel so alone in the endeavor. Blessings be. 🙏

Hello from Australia. I've just had my round 3 and to not reschedule my round my onc team decided to perscribe me filgrastim too. I was wondering how to inject into the thigh because I'm also on clexane which goes into my stomach, so while your section on the injection was short it was exactly what i needed. I sincerely hope your migraines and severe side-effects lessen for you. Sending Lots of love for you and your family!!

Thanks for your videos! I'm binge watching them. I'm currently in the testing phase of a lymphoma diagnosis. Doctors are pretty sure but we won't know exactly what kind until the biopsy. I'm a sad at possibly losing my hair but I'd stay bald forever if it saved my life. I kinda feel like yea it sucks but since you're the sickest during treatment it really helps that you don't have to waste energy washing and fixing your hair...and please tell me leg hair goes too....because I'm looking forward to that...I don't have time that not sick so...😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope you're doing well now. ☺

I'm going back to the hospital today for my second round of chemotherapy and I'll be at the hospital for 1 week for a total of 4 chemo bags each bag lasting 24 hours, so my question is does the first round of chemo help determine how well you'll do on the second round and does the second round of chemo make you feel more sick?

I don't understand WHY the neulasta/neupogen does not come in a similar device as the epi-pen! I tried and tried, but couldn't inject myself! Did you alcohol swab the site beforehand? Thanks for sharing!

Hello, I’ve been watching you’re journey. This is my second time with a different cancer “rare” type that was found in my uterus, anyway I was wondering with my returning back to work, I work Monday thru Friday. Should I do my chemotherapy mid week “Wednesday” so I can make my work week thru? I noticed that into started experiencing my energy & health depleted on day 3 as well. Ironically a side effect I’ve had is my face is really red, my cheeks are running hotter than my forehead, with dry throat & scratchy, ears hurt, nose is stuffed up, trying to drink plenty of fluids. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Brenda Rasinski yeah well it’s hard to focus when you’ve been pumped full of chemo drugs! I even say “I feel like I’m talking in a way that is extremely boring”. Anyway, when people started being rude about me saying “um” and “like” I became really uncomfortable and edited the videos heavily to get it out.
