@@tuesdayrozier8124 If the game is fully emulated then you can sort of force GGPO netcode in without needing any source code. Perfect for Code Mystics who are an external developer. Newer games (which even included KoF98UM) require a bit more work which SNK themselves would need to provide some support for.

@@MrLachapell To expand on what Zadamanim said: japanese devs refuse to implement rollback netcode in their games because: 1- It wasn't invented in Japan (there's a whole stigma named after this reason & it goes beyond just the netcode) 2- They find it redundant (yeah sure, japanese players don't need it because of urban proximity, but would it hurt them to think about the rest of the world for a second?) 3- If you ask them directly, they respond like you're asking them to divide by zero. Max made a video about it called... Surprise, "Not invented here". It'll tell you all you need to know about the issue.

There was one that was around 70% finished in 2002, I believe. SNK was in bad shape financially at the time, so the game wound up getting shelved indefinitely.

@@Neogears1312 Tiers do matter at some extent, they give you a simple vision of what you will experience with said character, but yeah they don't matter that much though, every character still is viable. What about those tourneys though? i don't remeber Tizoc being that much popular on those, last time i saw one was on A-cho channel and the recent SNK stream where Colossus showed up

This game is so full of character. Rock and Kim's unruly son whose name I can never remember, completed the experience for me. But really the entire cast are very unique and vibrant.

Rock's burger face in the upper right gave me quite a laugh. Also, I tried to fmimic Rock during Terry's gameplay reveal trailer for a moment. I don't know if people noticed but it was really fun, I tried my best.

I just spent $15 to buy this game in hopes that it helps the cause of further implementation of rollback net-code at SNK

Yeah, Rock was sadly barely decent in this game. Neo Geo Battle Colisuem coming from CVS2 didn't do him any favors either (since CVS2 was one of the few high-tier SNK characters). Also, his theme is a Robert Miles tribute.

My left foot hurts like a bitch because of me somehow twisting it on my way to class this morning, so seeing Garou come back on Max’s channel at least made my night a little better.

After playing Terry in Smash, you don't how good it is to play on a D-Pad and with Good Netcode!

I was playing with 160 ping at 3 frames and it still ran like a dream, this online is amazing.

When you realize your favorite character is low tier.... I know the feeling. I like playing as Zedd in Power Rangers BFTG....

Im playing a lot of Garou since they updated with the rollback netcode, and I'm doing good with my boy Rock. Thing is, the other day I played a dude that completely wrecked me. He just defended pretty much everything and I was surprised. I lost over 20 matches in a row, and was happy I ended up winning 3 single rounds. Dude was a total monster, and even tho he won every match, I didnt give it easy to him, and I felt like he was also enjoying the matches. Over 20 years later and this game still feels great.

Max really enjoying and getting into SNK has gotta be one of the best developments for this channel and us SNK fans. Can't wait for more.

Literally did J.D just defend guard cancel Neo Deadly Rave and still died. That would have been the sickest thing ever

Never played this game but man.. the stages, visuals and backgrounds are amazing.

Rock was made like a low powered version of Geese in MotW with focus in agility but it's not a bad character at all only his learning curve it's longest than others characters but its really rewarnding at the end, Also it's wonderfull how well it's the online now, was unplayable now runs perfect

they should include an option to use the arranged soundtrack

Oh, also you can break rock's command grab so you can follow up for more damage. Breaks are specific special moves that can be cancelled after the first hit, so you can usually follow up. (Press 6ab imediately after a break move)

How do these backgrounds still look so good?!

This is the best and most fluid animation in a 2d game period. Don't @me with Third Strike, the animation there is good but backgrounds are lazy, unlike SNK that went all out with their animation of all characters and stages. I could pleasure myself on the level of fluidity on display in Garou.

Gato's stage is awesome.

The only background cameos I could make out were in the Hokutomaru fight. The two guys in the red car are Kaede and Moriya from The Last Blade.

Guys did you know that Rock's theme samples CHILDREN by ROBERT MILES? You may know that melody as being done by ROBERT MILES in his song CHILDREN, which, if you recall, was made by ROBERT MILES. Who did the song called CHILDREN which is what Rock's theme is sampling. That one part of Rock's theme? the cool melody? That's CHILDREN by ROBERT MILES.

It's best to set the meter 1 or 2 blocks down (to the left) from what the actual ping is. That's what i always do and it feels very good. Code Mystics has also a video on their fb that explains the netcode and what the best settings are.

Actually best settings are: Under 50ping - 0 input delay, 50 to 100 ping - 1 input delay, 100 to 200 ping - 2 input delay, and so on...

For the Neo Deadly Rave I honestly have always mashed each button in order and waited a second before switching buttons. Never nailed the correct timing for that super.

Now I know why Rock's theme sounds so familiar! It uses part of its melody from 'Children' by Robert Miles

Poor Rock. Not even in the Maximum Impact games he is the best character. At least he is better in KOF XIV Right?

Rock isn't very good in MoW compared to the other characters, but he has some pretty good buttons and decent combo paths. You have to put more effort for similar rewards as other characters (And compared to Top3 can't reach what they have access to) but there's a lot of ways to get better with him and stay viable at most levels of play

Now imagine Samurai Showdown and KOF XV with rollback... we are closer to the dream.

The artist that did the Garou soundtrack admitted that he's a fan of Robert Miles and so he had Children in Rock's theme, Spread Your Wings.

Rock does have a good super, definitely Shine Knuckle. Zero frame after the flash. What's good with him is pretty basic from using that, from what I've seen. Counters and rage run aren't great haha

One thing I hate about Rock's Neo Deadly Rave, is that it's very stage dependent due to emulation. For some reason, this is a problem on all ports, but it's much worse on the PS4 port. If the stage is having too much happening at once, the game slows down drastically, and already messes up the strict timing on the move. This makes it almost impossible to correctly input the move on stages for Hotaru, Tizoc, Grant, or Kevin, as once the move is inputed, it SLOWS way too much. You basically have to be in a corner for the move to run consistently.

the proper way to use ragging strom is by canceling his command throw

if Max has been impressed with the combos of the KOF XIII ... nor can he imagine what can be done in Garou.

I wish the switch version had online, along with the other ACA titles

Max, the yellow is how much delay you're setting, not rollback! You set the delay to be fixed for 5 frames on a match that didn't need it. If you want all rollback, set it all the way to the left.

I wish Max one day play against the best players I've seen in fightcade: Spelunker (Jap), TWolf78 (USA), Dui (USA), Morkman (Argentina), Crooked (Argentina), Nigga Fighter (Argentina) And a huge amount of great players from Brazil. The game gives for many more combos and pressures. It is one of the best 1v1 ever made. Thanks Max for giving the "new" version of Steam a chance.

Bueno yo llevo unos tres años jugando los títulos pero cuando mis compañeros de programación jugando el kof 2002 y más el lanzamiento de Terry volvió mi gusto Alos de luchas nunca tuve juegos de lucha la mayoría eran shooter o juegos de planta formas pero gracias a emuladores pude jugar la mayoría de los juegos de snk y los de peleas como la saga guilty gear y la mayoría de los juegos de Arc sistem work gracias a Dragon Ball fighterz y los BlazBlue bueno la mayoria de juegos que tengo en los emuladores son de peleas
