Lol, you was cheesing like a kid in a candy store! That's a great sub. I came close to getting 2 of them, DB 3512, DC XL Elite, or B2 Audio on black Friday. I went with the Fi BTL4 instead. I know they say conservatively rated, but every manufacturer says that about their subs. Big difference between 1500 and 3500 watts rms and 30mm-34mm xmax. I'm guessing the Sundown could handle 3k, but can't be sure with the 1500 watt rating. Great video Parker. Thanks for the content lil brother. Still waiting for the Savard Hi Q 12!

Nice video man I was really curious about this sub because I just bought one 12xv myself I'm a JL audio fan but from what my sound shop told me is the jl 12w6 v3 wouldn't be a match for sundown xv sub and he sells both brands he explained that jl has a cleaner bass but does not even come close to the loudness of the xv. I just had my box custom made ported box today tuned to 32 hz with a huge port and 1 inch thick face all I'm missing for my build is couple D4S lithium batteries and I can start my build from what everyone is telling me this build would probably be enough to put a crack in my windshield we will see and I'll video it to see if the xv can lol. Outside of lows this sub sucks. It destroys the lows but if you want ANY kind of performance outside of strictly low end avoid this sub like the plaque

Hahaha noooo they don’t sound the same at all buddy, trust me! I’ve heard these a ton, and I own the 13w7, the W7 is a much better sounding sub, and by a landslide. Keep what u have, trust me!

It's about time you threw in a real sub for a relative comparison. I invested into skar vxf for now. I want more lows and I want more power handling. So knowing sundown actually offers that, I just have to save is very helpful. Your doing good out there. Keep helping people bro the world needs more of that, remember that through this journey.

Man, I bought the x 15 powered by a SFB3k. Ive never been so dissapointed in a sub in my life. Yes it eats the lows like crazy but that's ALL it does. Overall performance in this sub sucks dude. High end bass is non existent and unless you're listening to nothing but rap Gucci Mane or electronic rebassed songs this sub is next to useless. Enjoy your 1 dimensional sub

@@seankiesling2054 Most megaroll surround subs don't do good on high notes anyway, plus the sundown x subs come with a soft suspension to help better with low low, if you want high frequency and decent lows go with the sundown u series.

@@BenaresDarkness ive heard nothing but amazing about that Resilient beast This is gonna sound dumb but I've come to realize I like the sound of 12s better. Granted my sample size was small with that one Sundown X15 everything else has been 12s

Hey Parker, I'm trying to decide between 3 subwoofers, the Sundown X 12, American Bass XFL 12, Skar ZXF 12. You own all 3 so how would you compare the SPL and the SQ between the 3 subwoofers?

Great video I wonder what the spl meter would say on the windshield cause it was hitting the lows like a champ.

Gotta play DJ droppn-Droppn Beats,Low and Slow-Deadly Bass. Rap only goes to low maybe 30-27hz with some jams going lower but with bass tracks like the one I mentioned it really plays the notes we pay big money to play with Authority. Maybe you can’t play it here in KZread but it’s worth you trying out. Or Bass Extreme- 20 Hurts or 2&2. This is why I rock 4 inch coils.

I've been wanting to see a review on the American bass xmaxx sub as well. Not many videos of this subwoofer on KZread and the people who do have them have terrible vids and one of them actually has them with the vfl amps but the new vfl amps don't put out the power. The new vfl series are known to be extremely overrated but I love American bass subs. I think American bass has something to do with atomic. I had 2 atomic apx 12's and they were brutal. I haven't seen an atomic build in a long time but American bass is everywhere

Yes! I've been thinking the same thing. But affordable means hrll get a propane torch or something. And itll be loud. So hell have to talk over that.

Try the Adire Audio Brahma 12". Another good candidate for big Xmax and clean sound for less money. XBL2 technology.

I have this sub.. plz... take my advice...buy a different sub. This sub is 1 dimensional. It destroys the lows BUT THAT'S IT...outside of that bass is next to non existent unless you wanna listen to Gucci Mane songs everyday

For the same price, you can get an Ascendant Audio Mayhem which is 2500 w RMS.. A.A is the same company that makes the SMD subs.

Hey just so everybody knows you can get a X12 for under 400 dollars from Directronix. DTX has crazy savings with referbes. you an get a zv5 12 for 550.

Idk if it's just the video or what, maybe some other guys will chime in, but it sounds like you've got alot of port noise on that sub bro. Either you need a larger aero port or maybe even a second. @@joem1950 ...I actually think the x series is beneath those skar top subs. Maybe in the right set up will the x series shine better, but in my experience, the sundown x 12 sacrificed a lot of cone area to extend that big lip. Yes the x will have your port/vent moving big amounts of air, but the sacrificed cone area will have it lacking in punchiness. But if you were new to this stuff, and if it was the first real high-end sub you came across, then you'll be like everyone else that's leaving "I love it" comments. But if you played with other brands high-end stuff before you came across the x series, than you'll be more critical of your opinion on them. I'm not saying it's a bad sub at all, I'm just saying I'd rather have two skar vxf 12s over 1 sundown x 12 myself, but still wouldn't be surprised if the 1 skar vxf outperformed the sundown x in certain system set ups.

I’ve had a single 12” setup in my daily driver for over 10 years. And through the years I’ve had these in my box (2.5ft3 30hz 40in2 port) on 2.2-3k rms Digital Designs 2512 Fi Q 12 Sundown SA 12 SKAR DDX 12 SKAR VXF 12 And this Black Friday I finally ordered a sundown X-12 V2 and an SFB5k as a last attempt at keeping a single 12 for max output before I eventually give up more trunk space for 2 12s or something bigger. Anyway, for years I’ve heard about the X and have seen some vids where the X is excurting like crazy on about 2-3k. Well I hate to say it but I’m disappointed because it doesn’t sound that much louder or better than all the aforementioned subs!!!!! Yes it gets low but so did the VXF and all the other ones except the DDX. The DDX played the highest frequency range well into 100hz plus. For such a massive Sub like the X is, I expected a lot more even if it was just massive lows only but no. Btw my box is in a sedan facing the cabin and sealed off from trunk so all subs sounded real good and clean with no trunk rattle but the X is only slightly louder. :\

Oh and it’s getting smelly too when the amp is barely even clipping or not even at all. And I can’t even get it to excurt a huge amount. The highest I’ve gotten it to excurt is the low notes on bass I love you and it got smelly fast! What gives?

U still got it? I had a sundown sa 12 v2 in a 2.2 cubic foot box at 32 hz, it hit the lows good but something about the sub sounded off...idk how to explain but on some songs i played, it did not sound or hit the same as my past subs (kicker L7 15, jl audio w6, alpine type r, rockford t1). I ended up selling it as it was bugging me and bought a skar evl 12 d4. The skar sounded like my past subs but more intense so to speak, it even hit the lows as good as the sundown sa 12v2. I ended up buying another sundown (x12 v2 d2) yesterday for 450, but saving up to get the 2.5 cubic foot box for it..hopefully it sounds like the skar evl. Shit i shouldve got the skar vxf

X series and zvx are super similar . Spec wise xv2 eats it tho . Little more Xmax x series is around 5 pounds heavier tho . But both are badass

If you do... don't go with the x.... this sub is 1 dimensional and next to useless outside of lows...ive never been so dissapointed in a purchase than I am with this sub. DD's are so much better subs than Sundown. If you're going to go with Sundown pick up the U or maybe the Z.... the x is wack

Oh hey @parker I know it cost alot but have you considered trying out a FI BTL ??? Or a FI SSD?? Those subs get low n loud. But the sub I truly wanna see you test out because I'm truly thinking about tracking one down myself n buying is the biggest and most powerful subwoofer skar Audio has ever created... The DNR 15"..... It's a 10,000 watt sub... I wanna see what it can truly do..
