My Biggest Homestead Regrets: Repairing the Damage I Caused

Ойын-сауық

In today's video, Wranglerstar takes on the challenge of repairing damage caused by years of driving equipment across his homestead field. This activity has created grooves in the land, disrupting its ability to flood irrigate properly. The water now follows these grooves, making it difficult to evenly distribute and keep the field watered and green all summer. Will Wranglerstar succeed in restoring the field's natural irrigation? Watch as he attempts to repair the damage, ensure even water flow, and bring new life to the land. Join us on this journey of redemption, growth, and transformation. Don't miss out on the lessons learned and the hard work put into making things right.

In the mountain Lassen ( mineral)wilderness range I have a friend that I work for. When he toured me on the different Meadows around his property. We drove in his four-wheel-drive Toyota Tacoma with tall narrow tires. He actually use the truck to reroute the water. He always chose a different route which would allow different Meadows to receive the water from the upper head gates. But he actually did it on purpose and did not create hand dug canals. It was all done with the truck. I found it to be amazing how easy he could cut the water into different directions.

Thank you for the ending words of encouragement, Cody. So many are in need of those right now and feel lost with no community around them save for those they find online... and many have found each other through your channel. Seeing the field watering is always such a simple, elegant, and effective method to water a large field... it's almost like watching dynamic art in nature.

Working with the old-fashioned flood irrigation looks to be very rewarding. I grew up on my great grandfather's farm (he died before I was born) and I heard stories about how he worked. He used used water in a hose to level a footing of concrete or stone, and water in a trench to achieve the correct amount of fall.

I have been sitting at the Kings feet these last few weeks. Listening to His Word. Letting it devide soul, spirit, bone, and marrow. You are right in saying those things, Cody. We mere men with our finite minds and wicked hearts bring God down a few knotches and raise ourselves a few knotches so we feel right with HIm. He is Holy and Righteous! Those truths about Him should cause pause and reverence. A Holy and Righteous GOD would not be good if He allowed evil to continue. He will judge and condemn evil because He is Good and Set apart! The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Jeremiah 9:23-24 is a verse for this nation at this time. I enjoy your sense of humor. Always have. Enjoy the channel.

I've been watching a couple years at least. I feel in your ending speech saying that taking your advice is not helpful is a humble sentence on your part. I do know you to your youtube degree, but having so many viewers it's impossible to know all of us. The depressing part that comes to reflection is the time we commit to content creators for entertainment has left a lot of us with mixed feelings. The absence of face to face community in real life has definitely taken it's toll on society. Thanks for the content you do share though! -A previous West Coast Man

The tyre tracks don't just compress the soil, they force up a ridge between the tracks and, to a lesser extent, on either side as well. That's what's causing your water to divert. You need to knock down the height of those ridges that are running across the path that you want your water to take to get to the field.

Possibly if you put some larger washed aggregate material that the water will make its way through for a path for the cart and machines you may be able continue to traverse that area without causing this problem in the future. Just a thought not sure what available in that region but possibly a #5 or larger septic stone.
