MY BIGGEST CRAB LIMIT EVER! How Deep Should You Go?

Спорт

I am heading out to Bodega Bay, CA to do some crabbing. I wasn't sure how deep to drop my ‪@PromarAhiUSA‬ hoop nets so I tested out 50ft, 100ft and 150ft of water to figure out were the big crab are. The results were over whelming. Also dropping some news...

Been out half dozen times since opener. Every time I go deeper the crabs get bigger. Started out at 110 then for curiosity tried 75-80 & went right back out over 120. After six times each time deeper water = bigger crab. Can’t wait to see the new boat, congrats!

A history story. My late Grandfather spoke that his father had a cabin on south side of Russian River. Jenner area. Just east of the current bridge. He spoke that around 1915 era the entire family would ride over from their ranch in Healdsburg with a horse and wagon.. Also aboard was a wire cage with many old chickens. Once they arrived the chickens were line tied on one foot. And every day over the next week they would row out at River mouth area with the wire cage and a live chicken inside tied to the floor. Then they took the wire lid off. Next with a pruning shears the chicken's head came off and the trap was dropped with blood going everywhere. In just a 2 hour soak the cage would be full inside and others clinging to the exterior wire. They boiled them in a kettle using driftwood and River/ocean water Over a week the entire family would dine on several hundred crabs. No limits or size rules then. Grandpa swore the chicken blood in the water brought them in from several hundred feet away. Those were the days.......

It’s better to have two boats. One for the inland waters like lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and the other boat for bays snd ocean. It’s to prevent the spread of those invasive species of mussels snd snails that’s polluting the inland waters. Look it up to be informed. Stay tuned. 🧐👍🏼

yeah, lot less meat, best not to if you have enough males. But sometimes you go crabbing and if you dont end up with much but a female, then in my opinion take it and eat it.

Now im sure you're keeping those crabs and most likely you're going to cook them up and eat them so all crabing videos are the same but the ones filming more content and exploring what's the best way to cook them and how to peel the whole thing and start experimenting with some tasty recipes that's what a good video consist of So I want you to really take these words seriously

Technically you violate the limit once you have ten in possession and you put more on the boat. I could be wrong, but JR (was a game warden back when I was fishing alot) wouldn't give me a direct answer.@@ChrisPfish2
