The Ferrari livery looks very "retro", like something out of the 1970s or even the 1920s. It reminds me of Lightning McQueen's "Radiator Springs" paint job. I really love it.

Caling the VCARB the second worst is criminal Yes its similar to the toro rosso circa 2016-18 but its such a refresher to the eyes compared to the Haas, the Alpine, hell even the sauber and mclaren. Its Distinctive, and i think deserves to be better than 2nd worst

There are no truly bad liveries but this one disappointed me upon further reflection. The initial impressions were good but now I feel hollow but I respect your opinion.

@@LawVS I think the only truly bad livery is the Alpine one, given the hype and prebuild with the faux launch of the pink camo (reminds me of the bwt racing point car). But i can see how to some extent it does feel hollow given the drastic change in branding from Toro Rosso to....VCARB.... I will say that I am an enjoyer of the use of black on cars (The Renault of 2019, the Lotus of 2013 and 2015 and the Black arrows of 2021 and 2022 come to mind immediately from more recent history) but it needs to be used either as a contrast to a colour or as the primeary colour. With a lot of the weight saving liverys from this year it feels rather muted to see a car with just carbon fibre and some added colour to make it vaguely reconisable of what team its meant to represent. Teams like Ferarri and Williams I feel have some of the strongest liveries on the track this year purely for the lack of carbon fibre visible on the car. and if it is visible it is well managed and harmonious with the rest of the livery

man of all the people to get angry about the whole "billboard on wheels" thing you wouldnt think it'd come from a McLaren fan oh no they are nostalgia baiting us in an attempt to advertise to us, but lets praise all the other billboards when they do throwbacks to the past

definitely interesting that as soon as everyone started to copy the rb19 concept, redbull have immediately gone and changed it to a completely different idea, very odd to me side note i need lando to get a win this year

A little more about national racing colors: -They seem to take their origin from the Gordon Bennett Cup, which was a precursor to the first Grands Prix. In the first edition in 1900, the French team raced in blue, the Germans in white, the Belgians in yellow, and the Americans in red. -The British would not join the Cup until I believe 1902, where their cars were allegedly olive green. Each year the race's location was determined by the winner of the previous race (with the first one being held in France). Selwyn Edge won the 1902 race and as such, the next year's edition would be held in the UK. Due to certain laws banning auto racing on British streets, it was held in Ireland, and the British cars were allegedly painted shamrock green in honor of that. From there, British Racing Green would take off. -As far as I can tell, Italy's original color was black until an Italian won the Peking-Paris race in a red car, whereafter we've been treated to rosso corsa ever since. -Austria's racing color is actually blue, meaning Red Bull have been racing in their national color this whole time!

For me the red bull conpet is what I am looking forward too, either they dominant or they have a huge flop. It won't be the first time Newey pushed the limit to far

it definitely won't flop i mean it's adrian newey he didn't make the most dominant car last year to create a worst car this year i would say we're either gonna see redbull win all 24 races or they will be a little bit ahead of the field and will see others win

I am so torn on the Alpine. The abstract polygonal motif they've got going on is so cool, I just wish they'd bothered to wrap more than 40% of the car. Totally agree with the other commenter who said that scheme would hold up a lot better if everyone else wasn't also using copious amounts of carbon fiber. That pink and black combo in particular would be especially striking most other years.

I think Alpine hurt the most because their motif looks quite nice, had it been mostly painted I guarantee it would’ve been on of the best of the season.

I actually think the exposed carbon goes so well with the Alpine. Just think they were unfortunate with the timing of the reveal because everyone was expressing their disgust of how much carbon the other liveries had right as Alpine revealed theirs, but i think it looks great with the pink and blue!

Yeah they really shouldn't have shown the A424 next to it.

My opinion: 1. Ferrari (which as a McLaren fan I did not think I'd say!): Thank goodness they got rid of the black on the monocoque from last year, put it back onto a bottom half black, top half red. The lighter red is always good and I like the yellow and white lines, although not so sure about how they've been implemented on the sidepods, bending round and down. Like the white numbers with yellow borders. 2. RB: Colourful, for sure. Not so sure about the white on the front of the monocoque though. The whole thing gives STR 2017-'19 vibes, which is an absolute plus. 3. Mercedes: There's some silver! Not as much as there should be but still, it looks great. 4. McLaren: Really good, looks mean and quite aggressive. I'd rather there was some blue on the car, but I wasn't a fan of the Gulf blue used over the last couple of years so I'm not sorry it's been dropped. Bonus: the IndyCar liveries look great too, especially the #7. 5. Aston Martin: Looks quite good, similar green to last year and the implementation of bare carbon fibre isn't too bad, though it does make the top-down view look a little sub-par. Solid effort. 6. Red Bull: As you were: an iconic livery which still looks good. 7. Williams The two tone blue is nice but I think it could've been integrated better on the sidepods. 8. Sauber: Not so bad from the front view, but the rest of it is bad. Looks like a MyTeam livery. Striking, but not my favourite. 9. Haas: More black on the nose, which is nice. And the Haas logo on the sidepods is huge! Otherwise, similar to last year. 10. Alpine: Ah. Not great. Side view's ok, and what colour is on the car's not bad at all, and the patterning's nice. But the rest of it... just bare carbon! The pink's actually just as bad! The WEC car on the other hand was lovely! I especially like the brake lights.

I'd only lower Merc in this it's pretty good bar the Merc symbols on the engine cover. They needed to blend them in more almost like they did when they covered the car in Merc symbols

The way the Mercedes' silver is applied to the top of the nose and sidepods really reminds me of how the gen 3 FE cars look, which I actually really like despite my strong antipathy towards everything FE. It's probably my second favorite livery overhaul after the [Insert your name here] Racing Bulls [Insert your name here] [This is a cool spot]'s super 90s red, white, and blue palette. Also, regarding the national colors returning to the grid, it's worth remembering that America's color is blue (hence Ferrari's NART wearing blue instead of red at times), which Williams sorta wears. Surely incidental, but still

Sauber should try and pick up RAZER as a sponsor with that green lol.

So excited to see the cars running during testing and the first race!

Here’s my top 10 from worst to best: 10. Alpine 9. Sauber 8. Mclaren 7. Red Bull 6. Mercedes 5. Haas 4. Williams 3. Ferrari 2. Aston Martin 1. Vcarb The only ones I truly dislike are Sauber and Alpine though.

I know Alpine didn't put much color and you have to knock that. But, I think the overall package and identity we got does look better than a few of the others cars.

If only the base colour was the matte blue.

Mine: Ferrari: it's the best one this year let's be honest. VCARB: Gives off 90's Williams and blue Toro Rosso vibes, way too nostalgic. Redbull: Come on, yes I'm tired of it but it's very iconic and when people remember the most dominant seasons in F1 history, it's just one livery. Merc: they nailed it. I wish there was a bit more silver to it, but it's brilliant, can't blame them. It's the best they could've done. AMR: could've used lesser carbon fibre in my opinion but it's the cleanest on the grid. Stake: for a first livery, it's absolutely brilliant. McLaren: they need more colour, they've gone way too much carbon fibre. Williams: in my opinion, I liked last year's better but this ones fine too. Haas: I can't blame them tbh, they need to save as much weight and money as possible. Alpine: disappointment, just disappointment...

1. Ferrari (9.5/10 LOVE IT. certainly one of the modern classics alongside 2022 or the 2017 cars/liveries) 2. Mercedes (8.5/10 the silver and black combo is so good, reducing the rating because of the oversized stars (I prefered the smaller ones like on the 2019 car) and the colour cut under the halo behind the driver) 3. Vcarb (8/10 maybe little basic, but I like it a lot + crap name) 4. Aston (8/10 again I dig it a lot, the carbon fibre exposure was used well, but I feel like something is missing) 5. McLaren (8/10 carbon livery done right) 6. Williams (7.5/10 I like it. Good evolution of last years livery. I see nothing bad on that livery, but also nothing new that stands out to me) 7. Sauber (7/10 I love the colour combination, but the green strip on the engine cover could've been done better) 8. Red Bull (7/10 like I said yesterday the livery is a classic, it just doesn't suit the car) 9. Haas (6/10 there are some bits I like, otherwise rather meh livery) 10. Alpine (5.5/10 carbon livery done wrong (please I want 2021 livery back))

The British green and the lime lines work so well together on that Aston Martin car.

Little idea suggestion: ranking the new rally 1 liveries? Maybe a comparison with the previous years liveries because theyve changed a bunch

Ferrari: To be honest, before revealing the 2024 car I thought Ferrari was the most likely teem to challenge Red Bull in the near future. And as you said, the car design seems very in place, coherent. Therefore, I incline myself even more in Ferrari for the years to come to challenge Red Bull. Mercedes: I was to write that I disagree with you with Mercedes, but... the more I listen to your thoughts, and then take other looks to the car, the more I like it. I read in a comment the other day that Mercedes may be having an identity crisis, but I don’t think it is the case. Overall, despite I don’t expect Mercedes to challenge Red Bull before 2026 at least, they give the impression of committing to it. Critique Note: I really think that, by just looking at the esthetic design of the car, you can tell if it’s going to be good or not. And that translates to all aspects of life. The reason: if the spirit of the team is good and there is motivation, attention will be put into small details like the livery; but if you are lost and don’t know what you are doing, you’ll do like Alpine and through the car full carbon “because it’s going to be faster”. If someone has to arrive to such extremes without noble reasons, there is just no way he is going to succeed. My thoughts to be continued (Sorry, but I've got to get some sleep right now)

Cant argue with you at all. Got to say this is the first time in around 7 years I am pumped for the F1 season. I get the feeling that the stars may of aligned to make this season rather spicy. Max is going to be hard to beat but there are going to be fights all down the field and there are 4 teams I am picking that will have some drama between their drivers on track through the whole season. I can see a Hamilton vs Rosburg situation that really started to brew for 4 teams in the 2nd half of last season and with seats up for grabs including 2 or 3 in the top teams things could be interesting.

Is it weird that I find this year's Red Bull Livery the cleanest ive seen of all of the RBR liveries. The placement of the decals plus how the Red and Yellow were utilizied is a very nice touch. The best is the Ferrari hands down. The addition of the yellow and white stripe throughout makes the car look absolutelu gorgeous ❤

Imo Stake and Vcarb are top5 for the looks: Stake looks original and bold and will probably look awesome on track especially in night races, and Vcarb looks like an old school style livery (where the Ferrari was praised for 🤷) and has a cool color palet...

The Sauber is genuinely down to the busy livery being not my cup of tea BUT I do like the colour green they used. As for VCARB, I don't approve of them using a former team name's livery. I'd rather they do a new thing rather than hark back for nostalgia bait.

The racing bulls livery was my personal favorite. It was a huge glow up compared to last years livery (which disappointed me). The ferrari is for sure in my top 3, but I just prefer the direction racing bulls took.

I kinda have a feeling the company will fold spectacularly in 2 years.

Im actually a slight fan of haas using the black (not as much as they did) but to me its better than the white and highlights of red like 2022. Hopefully we see teams painting their cars more next year but I hope haas keep their black

My views on each livery: 1. VCARB: first, great acronym, and has Toro Rosso returned? 2. Haas - 2023 revamped, looks like a Haas. 3. Stake/Sauber/Kick: Am I in the Matrix? 4. Williams: Nice evolution, really shows their history rooted in British engineering. 5. Alpine: hot take, nicest livery with the carbon exposed. 6. Aston Martin - another hot take, kind of boring, although a bit of extra carbon gives it a bit of a gradient whilst still hopefully being competitive. 7. McLaren: No Chrome? 😢 8. Ferrari - gives me late 2010 vibes, makes me remember when Vettel was fighting for the championship 🔴 9. Mercedes : evolution and evolution.👍 10. Red Bull : the RB18C is cooking with its livery from 2016.🔥🔥

I do think it's one of the worst simply because it's nostalgic yet not in a wholesome way but as a commercial way.

In all honesty, you cant knock the alpine car for being mostly black when you used the defense of a black precedence for Sauber, when Renault/Alpine have done the same in relatively recent years, even dating back to the 2020-2021 preseason when Alpine's pre-launch livery was mostly black, similar to the 2020 Renault in that regard. And in my opinion, that test livery was better than the actual 2021 livery.

It would be fun if you ranked all the liveries from previous years up until possible. I’d love to hear what you think of them all!

I'll bear that in mind for next year!

1. Ferrari (blends the carbon so well) 2. McLaren (the carbon looks purposeful, plus no more blue!) 3. Mercedes (could have easily gone all carbon but brought back the silver and blended the two liveries well) 4. Aston Martin(should be higher but the carbon placement looks terrible) 5. Williams (evolution of the last couple years but not totally the same) 6. Alpine (I know everyone hates it but this is honestly their only livery idea where I think the pink and blue look great together) 7. Red Bull (I know it’s their brand but I wish they would change it up a little bit because it’s so boring) 8. Sauber (bold design but nothing special) 9. RB (too busy, sponsors terribly placed) 10. Haas (boring color combo…we all know they’ll finish last so why not give us splashes of color lol)

My list based on livery design alone: 1.Ferrari 2.Red Bull 3.Aston martin 4.Torro rosso 5.Haas 6.McLaren 7.Mercedes 8.Williams 9.Sauber 10.Alpine My biggest disappointment was Mercedes I feel like they don't know what they are doing, should have been all silver or all black but I understand your rating.

My favorites rn are Racing Bulls, Ferrari, Mercedes, Aston, McLaren, and Kick. Racing Bulls, Ferrari and Merc made all time classics imo

The amount of blue and grey just makes me think thst no team having yellow (... Andretti?) Is such a missed opportinity. It's not just that but the overall look of the livery is just tainted in my eyes and it feels disingenuous.

The funny thing is once the first race starts nobody cares about the livery but how fast the cars are.

Redbull gets extra marks from me as they’ve actually got a good amount painted there car compared to most others

And yeah speaking of Ferrari, they have a live launch event planned for the WEC outfit. Maybe they might have an updated livery. They're running a third Hypercar also. This third car won't be a "Factory" car. It's a customer car for AFCorse. Kubica, Schwartzman and Yi are the drivers.

Now let’s talk about new helmet design of current F1 drivers.

Tbh, I'm not a livery fan. As long as I can easily distinguish the team on the track, especially at 200+ mph, I can live with most of them. Though I can't abide lime or neon green. So Sauber looks dreadful but it does pass the "can I see it?" test. The Haas does too, but like the majority of their liveries since they started, it's pretty ugly. Red Bull not changing much really helps with being able to spot it, and the RB one whilst obviously related, is sufficiently different. They're not awful by any stretch of the imagination. And the rest of the teams look perfectly okay. My favourite colour is blue so I guess I prefer the Williams 🤷🏻‍♀️.

As a french, this made me laugh. It was so spot on !

For me the main function of the livery should be to stand out. I like the merc (way better than '23) and aston designs but in a group of 10 cars I'd like it to pop a bit more. Stake in isolation is way too loud, but with all the carbon fibre on the grid at least you can recognise them in an instant. Top 5: Ferrari, Vcarb, Stake, Redbull, McLaren. *no particular order Bottom 5: Mercedes, Aston Martin, Williams, Haas, Alpine.

Aston, Mercedes, Ferrari, Mclaren, Williams, Sauber, VCARB, Red Bull, HAAS and then Alpine ..... I was not really sold on Mercedes over the last 2 days but this livery grows on you the more you look at it. Separating Ferrari and Mclaren is tough but I do think the Ferrari wins over for nothing other than consistency .... VCARB livery is better suited to the Alpine which is why I have it behind Sauber. Red Bull is just tired. Alpine simply just dropped the ball this year.

I might be alone in saying the merc livery isn't anywhere near as good as people make it out. From the front at a low angle looks great but as soon as the faded black and the childish merc stickers come in I'm out. The black line under the team viewer logo is jarring as the rest of the livery is flows through the car and then suddenly there's a perfectly straight line down half of the back that doesn't match with the black fade and just cuts through it. I loved the original full black livery because of the message behind it but I feel like that's been lost now

It's hard to tell right now since many parts are either oversimplified or straight up faked for the cameras. We need to wait until we get proper feedback from the drivers.

just waiting till next week to finally see the cars on track feels like forever. yes, you are correct once we see the drivers on track we will know what the cars are really capable of. @@LawVS

Surprised that Merc & Ferrari made huge livery changes before Lewis`s change. Propably the livery was done before the deal was announced

Aston green is NOT British racing green. The Stake car reminds me of Kawasaki. In a good way.

OK, it's their green but it's still nice to see a British team with green.

Personally I have a very different order but that just comes to individual taste I guess. I do think you have got it wrong with the Racing Bull though. You seem to be marking it down due to the name/sponsorship situation without actually considering the livery.

Old torro rosso wins it for me, Ferrari is too similar every year for last 6 years

I'd say the Ferrari does have some differences and there's not much you can do with Ferrari's limited brand guidelines.

Swap the placemrnt of Merc and VCARB, and your list is perfect; but I can't see the appeal of the Merc at all... it looks like the 2020 merc rear-ended the 2022 merc and made it 60% through before stopping.

My opinion: 1. Ferrari 2. VCARB 3. McLaren 4. Mercedes 5. Aston Martin 6. Sauber 7. Williams 8. Red Bull 9. Haas 10. Alpine

I do like the "redder" red on Ferrari. It is still not quite the "20-packet"-red (or the "Ferrari-Red"), but it's getting closer. (I do not support that a conpany/team/whatever MUST be true to ever-last tradition, but in this age of F1 where ll cars are getting darker, it's cool to see Ferrari sticking to the roots. The white and yellow give a nice touch on that, too). My favourite car? Tough one. (I'm not usually a "absolute" person. All is relative).

Hopefully Dorillton can woo Martini back as a title sponsor for williams again

My ratings (worst to best) ((just of liveries not the car itself)) Alpine 3/10 I like the look of carbon and black, but this just doesn't work. Wec car is cool tho. Hass avocado 6/10 is ok Rib-eye dropkick Sauber 6/10 I like the green and black, it works but something about it I don't like, like it's to busy and the contrast seems a bit to much Insert your name here Racing Bulls Insert your name here, This is a cool spot, 7/10, I like it. But have your actual name be Toro Rosso if it's gonna look like a Toro Rosso Williams 7/10 I like the look of the blue, as well as the Duracell battery McLaren 7/10 this is a great example of carbon fibre/black working on a car Aston Martin 8/10 looks the same and it once again. Works. The carbon does get in the way but eh. Redbull 9/10 they have had the same livery for years, and it works! Mercedes 9/10 it's got a retro look that I love. Not as good as the Ferrari, but very very good Ferrari 9/10 beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
