Please ask Ather about the real battery cost after warrenty for gen 2. I called customer care they said it’s 54k. Ather people don’t have enough knowledge about their product , so each person give different answer. You people try same question to multiple Ather employees you must lest multiple answers. They don’t have any official part price on their website.

Hi pradeep, it's bad that the batteries degraded so fast, companies should take this seriously and probably that's why people are not sure of investing a premium price to buy a EV.... Lets say you have crossed the warranty period then god help you if you have to pay say 90k for a new battery... How many people can afford that..... Company should standardise the quality of the cells and have the technology to replace only the faulty cells so as to keep the cost low.... Else its like owing and maintaining a luxury car whereas the poor commuter is looking for a reasonable two wheeler to commute Pradeep you have to find a way to get to the company and make them answer this major issue... Pradeep you can do this and you should do this as no one has ever spoken of this issue or even addressed this Good luck on this to crack this issue with the Company

Just a correction, it is not battery degradation. It is misbalanced cells. OEM will open your battery and replace the damaged cells, won’t cost them much. Since service centers don’t have that skillset to repair battery, they just replace it and send the old battery back to OEM

Even though they replace mis balance battery battery once again need to repair. Because all the other cells they are les capacity then the new cell , so this new cell charge first and try charge other cells after charger removed. Cells must match with same capacity and manufacturing batch. This is too tedious process so company not repair the battery. They just replace with new one.

IMHO, U r misinformed: cell balancing happens all d time while charging and during regeneration while braking. But if QA/QC is not good, odd battery cells which r defective gets incorporated into the pack, which over repeated cycles of charge/discharge, affect functioning of BMS and ultimately becomes dead units! So, all industry noise about NMC/LFP, cell-balancing and early intervention thru telematics, deep discharging are just useless talks. The pack's components ie battery units don't hav serial No. as per old industry norms: not even BMS! Only from April onwards with new regulations is there any way to track BMS & battery packs

but the roads are the same pathetic ones except the concrete ones ..which are also having issues in some areas.. and there is nothing improving drastically.. the traffic management is still horrible.. there is no responsibility on the governing side... the municipal Corporation is basically dead.. our sewage system is horrible.. we don't have enough waste water management plants.. so if you actually like bangalore.. you will question these.. but people are not even aware of these issues.. like just look at our storm water drains.. they should be completely clean... but they are completely polluted...why? and no politician will point that out and no citizens will question them...

3 months ago i too purchased the ather 450x and in my opinion vehicle build quality is good and design is attractive but the range is very less, also it discharge 2-3% sometimes 4% a day in standby mode. Post purchase service is very bad. My bike got syncing and connectivity issue just after 7 days of purchase and it got resolved just last week, means almost after 80 days.and for that also we have to visit the service centre so many times and have to do argument with the service manager. Surprisingly if you complain to customer support online they will advise you to visit service centre and when you visit to service centre they will say you that they will raise your concern to ather customer support on your behalf from customer service centre to resolve the issue. And until they will not get reply from customer support service centre people will not be able to resolve the issues 😂😂 This type of service ather will provide you.

I think it's very useful for everyone like both ev manufacturers & ev costumers too .45 days is too much time it's not at all acceptable definitely they should provide alternate vehicle & issue also should be solved in max 15days. For only 20k kms this type of issues should not face by any customers. may be after 60k kms or 5 years later its ok .if the real wold of ev is like this then there is no future for ev. while buying ev we are spending 50k more than petrol scoter & if we face this kind of issue after warranty we need to spend more again. i am seeing this video as an end consumer who is looking to buy ABC products if you need a replacement for XYZ parts, it shouldn't cost as much as new product pricing (Pricing of ABC when bought). considering this XYZ part definitely needs replacement in a few years so 90% of the ABC owners need to go through this. so it's hard to believe it's environment and pocket friendly as of now. good video man for EVs good coverage sometimes we end users only see per day running cost, not the long-term cost :-)

Excellent two videos. Helped me decide regarding purchase. Based on these videos and a few other channels IMO it is not the right time to buy an EV. When I buy a vehicle I expect to keep it 8-12 years. The battery tech is not mature enough to allow that. Also, subscription for a vehicle that is priced already a little beyond premium is unacceptable.

Hey @pradeep what is the cost of the battery if the vehicle is under warranty but doesn't have a subscription? Please clarify i checked the full video but didn't understand.

I too get battery replacement at 18000 Km (11 month). They ask 2 months for the replacement I fight with them and get spare battery for this 2 months. After that they call me after 35 days and and took their spare battery and replace them new one. So far I understood after battery replacement is using warp mode (other then Eco ) will degrade the battery life fast. So am not switching from Eco to any other mode after this. Also overnight charging , Ather grid chargers also degrade the battery ( make cell imbalance). So I stop all of this and now crossed 48000 km. Now I felt my range was little bit reduced. So averages life of Ather battery pack is 25000 km.

I would add another point as 4. Extend the Warranty period for 45 days or however long as the Bike was with the service center without any wear and tear.

- Same battery soc issue faced in October 2023. - Service Team took almost 45 days & repaired & gave me back my Ather Gen 2 (2021Jan purchased). - Hyderabad, Telangana customer, Service is Done in Pune, Maharashtra (where i work). - Vehicle Performance is still amazing good, but mileage dropped by 15KM approx, which is not a good sign. - Thank you (krishna).

I started doing bike taxi in my ct 110x from 2022 aug. I was spending 500rs for petrol every two days although it gave 65+ mileage. So i decided to buy an ev. I saw your videos where you did rapido for reference. It gave me clarity about ather. I got my 450x on april 2023. Already covered 21,000+ kms. Very good bike. I had issues with the handle bar few times. I went to service centre 4,5 times. Now its almost fine, but still some issues. Otherwise this bike is best. I am getting 100 km range in ride mode with pillion in bangalore. Thankyou🎉

I understand you were asking him for how many cycles were there on the battery to understand how long did it take for the battery to degrade. But if the service center guy says that the cell balancing SOC failed, then you can’t correlate the battery cycles to assume that any other battery would fail at those number of cycles too. Seems like a one of a kind incident where your particular cell balancing unit failed, sorry for your troubles bro

hi Pradeep you took the vehicle in Jpnagar but for the major issue that is the battery you gave in a different service center did they say anything like you purchased it in Jpnagar you should approach the same service center where you took the delivery or they just took like that only and should we pay the price you showed in video that is 49k change or just 200 change ?

Even i use a ather 450 x gen 2 its been almost a year and i have driven 6000km(i use it only for clg commute 😅 and weekend city rides thats it ) and so far i mostly drive it sport or warp mode and i easily get 60km of range in sport and in warp around 55km i dont drive much in eco or ride mode and in the first service i had to change the motor of my ather which was covered in waranty the issue i faced was the fan used to make lot if noise when i drive at more than 50km/h and i had to slow down for the fan to get off ! Thats the only issue i had faced now that issue is sorted other than that i'm happy with my ather !

That's not an issue. All ather scooter's fan runs at high speed when the motor feels some load and it's temperatures raises.

Service due after specific period of time so there are chances of you seeing so many scooters at the same time it can happen with any motor vehicle too

I have purchased a Hero Electric scooty but there are many issues, main issue is battery is provided is repaired not new one. I have informed the issues to company customer care and Showroom both but they are not listening. Pls suggest how to escalate the issues.

I have ather gen 4 bought a month ago. 450x without pro pack and completed 1500kms in one month. My advice to those who do not want to go for pro pack and want to extract good mileage....maintain speed of 35kmph,slowly accelerate and avoid frequent braking. With 100% to 0% charge I did 135kms with a speed of 35kmph on the highways.

Honesty in banglore riding a electric bike is the best thing because, its just waste of petrol if you ride petrol bike(any way you will be staying still with engine running due to traffic)

Facing similar issue. Battery degradation is more than 30%. First time i handover my scooter to calicut sc, they taken 9days. They handover me by tolding now cell imbalance issue is rectified. After 4 days i did an test ride, the previous range drop issue is still there. I again requested the complaint and now the sc team telling they need one more week to cell balancing. The same issue is still there even after one week. then only they will send my battery to Bangalore factory. The minimum time period they telling is one month. They dont have any loaner vehicle to give me

Bro I got the same problem at 13k only, they took around 4months time to put me a new battery and the service response from ather was shit at that time, but the new one i got it for free so it's fine , because I had an 2° scooty I survived but other will suffer a lot

Manufacturers like ather should look at providing some standby battery pack at service centre, even if it is less milage so that while the battery is getting checked/ repaired for 45 dsys, the user can still use his vehicle and move around. If they are worried about people not returning their batteries then they can ask for some refundable deposit.

Time taken is not expected Plus my friend got same issue with Okinawa he kept his bike 2 months for motor only what is use of that bike if we are keeping it in service for that long I think some rules has to be created that every service should keep 10 extra batteries for every model and not battery all parts this is why still I have to use ice vehicles even I like Ev’s 👍

People its hard to accept. Fast charging degrades the battery pretty fast. Driven 21000kms used public grids for a dozen times only in the last 4 years I used to get 80km at 45kmph during first 2 years. Then it was down to 75km Now its giving 70km at 45kph But i rarely use fast chargjng But anither parameter to consider is I gained 10 kgs after 2 years. I replaced the rear tyre with TVS remora which has better grip All these parameters caused by 10 percent loss of range. If i exclude those paramters then i guess with same wright 2 years before 65kgs. And same MRf Tyres..it could only degrade by 3-5 percent only with usage of 21k kms. But i have seen 450 1.5gen using it for 50-60k kms with just 10 percent reduction in range.

Man, the service is a big problem to ather, they r selling lots of vehicles these days, but there r only few service personnels, even if we call the showroom for service sry sir no slots r empty for two days😢😢 and even the quality of service is not satisfactory, i gave my vehicle for back tyre replacement, they misaligned the tyre and it costed me to change some pulley thing, which is 10k, luckily im inside warranty period so they changed it for free,... Now im also facing this battery degradation issue, man i regret buying an EV😢😢😢

I think you would have done fast charging lot of times with which battery life would have got reduced to some extent. Electric vehicles will run for long time by charging slowly. Once in a month is fine to some extent. Till now I didn't face a situation where I was in need of a fast charging even though fast charging stations are not available for Tork Kratos in Hyderabad. When the battery is less I will give a linear throttle and at the downward roads I will leave the throttle. We should not get the battery percentage to zero also. When the battery percentage comes to 20% we have to charge it with which the battery life gets improved too. In Hyderabad, Tork Motors has given me an emergency vehicle when my vehicle was getting serviced

I assumed the same. A lithium battery brought down to zero and then fast charged will degrade the battery and shorten its lifespan. Here's why: Lithium-ion batteries are designed to operate within a specific voltage range. When you deplete the battery completely, you stress the internal components and can damage the anode and cathode materials. This can lead to a permanent loss of capacity and increased internal resistance. Fast charging generates heat, which is another enemy of lithium-ion batteries. While modern chargers are designed to optimize charging and minimize heat generation, high currents involved in fast charging can still accelerate the degradation process. Repeatedly draining and fast charging the battery will accelerate the formation of lithium plating on the electrodes. This is a phenomenon where lithium ions deposit unevenly on the anode, reducing the battery's capacity and lifespan. While occasional deep discharges and fast charges may not have a significant impact, making it a regular habit will definitely shorten the battery's life. It's best to avoid completely draining the battery and to use fast charging only when necessary. Bro i bought my scooter on aug last year,, only used fast charge for just 5-6 times, im pretty sure just 5-6 times, still my battery is draining soo quickly😢

@@charanreddy2504 Give a linear throttle while riding. At the downward roads leave the throttle for regenerative breaking. Don't ride the bike on below 20% charging. 10% is also ok. Don't take it to zero percentage. After it comes to 10 to 20% only then charge it. Don't charge it when it is at 50% or 60%.. Only in some emergency cases charge like that. Use a 15amp socket to charge it. Tyre pressure has to be maintained properly too for extracting better range. Belt condition has to be good

the only problem that i see with my ather is the stand... the angle is too aggressive and very hard to park in tight spaces in bangalore. and they are not Improving it and they are not providing a center stand also.. which is pathetic r&d they are doing

A wheel chair lift is the waste of space in electric buses as it cannot be practically used in city public buses ..

subscription plan is there but same past but some parts are fitting labour cost that is very bad in ather service centre

sound and video quality is bad, why is he talking while driving, rather makes a vdo after whole experience explaining things in details. Specially service cost and warranty claim, part is not clear.

Ola is out of the list.. Planning for TVS X but waiting for your genuine review.. And the second thought I developed was for Vida1pro after watching EV Gyan as he always brought one ..
