Same until GW does three things i'm going with second hand, Third party, recast, and 3D printing. The three thing are 1 freeze the prices in place until inflation has caught up to them. And 2 Purge the wokeness from their company. Meaning no more made up pronouns. Trans space Marines or female custodes or anything else. They are gone like any good will Gulliman had towards Lorgar after he found out the attack on his worlds where intentional. 3 A public apology from GW for gaslighting the fans and giving into the woke. Do that and I will start buying again. Not before, if Battletech can survive the company so can warhammer.

Because it’ll just be 3 more years before it’s functional I absolutely promise. …the comparison of GW to an ADHD child is apt. They couldn’t even sit still for long enough to finish the Eldar refresh that had taken them 20 years. They did half the range… …and then rushed on to something else. Who knows when they’ll be back for Fire Dragons or Warp Spiders… because finishing the last few kits was just too difficult, instead, let’s do them 5 years from now. But don’t worry, man… they’ll fix Legions Imperialis in the next update… I swear, I’ve got a good feeling about this one…

I want to try to convert Tybalt into a Ultramarine chaplain. I have this idea in my head that putting an emphasis on the Aquila iconography over legion icons on a chaplain sends a message that the Emperor's laws are above the legion's laws and this guy serves the former. I'm going to use a mk VI World Eater head with the ears cut off to imply the skull face without going full 40k.

My Beastmen army died and was transplanted to Old World so they could put it all life support for new sculpts of Skaven. Which would be fine...if I played Skaven.

The irony is that Skaven as a horde faction are better suited for the rank-n-flank of TOW, while Beastmen as a skirmish faction are better suited for AoS.

Anti-hype kind of sums up my feelings exactly. There's no point getting excited for any release, its either going to be forgotten in a month or invalidated and rewritten in a week. I've just gone back to play older eds, even with all their problems at least the rules and points are fixed in stone now

Edition life span needs to be massively extended. Other table top games like D&D do this. 5th ed D&D has been supported for over a decade now. If an edition is supported long term, more people will be willing to invest and spend money on a system they know won't be invalidated in 2 years time, and the army list they spent hours on doesn't work anymore because GW decided to remove those units or even the entire army.

40k and AoS are having constant changes and updates whether they need them or not, meanwhile Heresy 2.0 has barely seen its balancing changed since release

You shouldn't you feel disadvantaged or subordinated as a 30k player as compared to 40k or AoS. You may think you want GW to give your system some attention, but every time they do they ruin whatever they touch. Instead of hoping for attention, you should hope that they forget about the system altogether and never touch anything ever again.

Old World is suffering from the same issue as Legions, theres a dedicated group of players but its hard to convince people to pick it up who didn't still have their armies left over from 8th to try the game unless they really want to play Brets/Tomb Kings/Orcs

@@Brother_Nihilus I dunno, theres a lot of nostalgia for the old sculpts and metal mini's in general. Even the resin models aren't finecast anymore so thats not an issue. There are definitely some sculpts that don't hold up but I think the worst offenders of those are in plastic (the TK horses/skeletons for example)

It should have been epic 40k. There's not enough diversity and choice of armies, for a lot of people. People would love an orc army, or a demon army, etc. Just all space marines is boring.

two thoughts about that, first with legions they dont need to produce that many different models. second, like bfg, there is still a community and many sources for miniatures out there, so gw would need to compete with 3rd party, and its impossible to claim all the rights back, after they stopped using the ip.

I love Heresy too, but for Epic, where you can’t see the unique armour marks and consuls…? To cash in on a book series that is about to end? Demon invasions, Ork Hordes that cover the table, Tyranid planet-sized swarms, Necron tomb-world phalanxes, T’au gunlines and Imperial Guard in their hundreds… The current lord keeps talking about how all these planetary battles are becoming more common, the ‘world is ending’ style stories and the Tyranids pushing to Terra SO MUCH MONEY ON THE TABLE. Ignored, and made impossible, because some incompetent moron decided Epic 40k needed to be 30k Just, WHY? WHY DO THEY HATE MONEY

You could also try a non-GW rules set. Personally I'm a fan of Kings of War, though in my group some say, that the rank&file system from onepagerules is also quite good.

Pretty much every release seems to come with a ‘what’s the catch?’ Monkey’s paw now. Orks just got probably the best codex the faction has had for several editions, but that immediately got blunted by the majority of our named and generic characters, and our entire forge world section getting tossed into legends. The codex even has keywords and lore blurbs for units that no longer exist in it with some detachments that would work for like twenty or more units only working with like seven with the FW models and characters gone.

I understand how you feel. I am completely doing other games at this point. You say you do some battletech, why not talk about it for a video and show off your ghost bears? Let see more hobby videos, tutorials, and army showcase.

I’m still bitter over not being able to get the 30k mechanicus units in 40k. They said so many years ago that those were coming and it’s never happened. Then with this new mechanicus box coming out in plastic they just say fuck you we are separating everything. I would happily give them money if I could use it in both. It might actually get me fully into Horus heresy if I could. Hell might even interest me into getting one of the legions. But no, they decided they don’t want my and many others money.

‘No you can’t use Leviathan Dreadnoughts or Contemptors in 40k right after we advertised them for 40k, and it boosted their sales incredibly- screw you, they’re not legal in matched play’ ‘We keep complaining about having to stock so many sprues and miniatures, and are cutting ranges to be more efficient. The AdMech are struggling and could really use bigger battle automata that are recognisable and beloved designs… Do we let the 40k Admech run old relic automata, or Cawl to rediscover the STCs for the automata in this box to justify giving old Admech players 1) something entirely new to spend money on and 2) some love on the tabletop?’ *’No, because we hate money and sensible decisions’* The same thing happened with Legions Imperialis. The decision to not make it 40k, with Tyranid swarms, Ork hordes, Daemon invasions and Necron phalanxes, and to instead set it in 30k, burns so much potential money people would have been excited to spend. So brazenly incompetent that they are given a golden goose, and they killed it and turned it into 30k for a book series that’s about to end.

I feel your pain dude. It has been so long since gw announced anything that I thought thats good. Now looking at other games and playing them, it feels like gw has skated by for too long. There is so many better games and minis. I rarely look at the gw site any more.

Putting out some ideas into the aether to percolate: 1. Allow the defender a command phase before the first player's turn to get any defensive buffs online. 2. Steal the idea of Command dials from Star Wars Armada - allow people to order the objective cards as they want to.

The reason I don't get hyped for releases anymore: Oh boy look at these models, that I will never buy since I don't play the faction, never see because my friends don't play the faction, never hear about because I don't play that game system. This tends to happen when there are 3 main game-systems and a total of like 60+ different factions alongside several smaller game-systems and you only play maybe 2 games and 3 factions.

Hi Macca, you touched on feeling deflated. That’s for sure me right now. I’m part of a titanicus group, and it’s been distilled down to the final hardcore holdouts, maybe 6 regulars. We still have fun, but it takes so much work to make it fun, like writing campaign games, printing and painting most of the terrain etc. It has helped tying the AT events into the regular heresy events, but I feel like if one of us were to stop giving a shit, the whole thing would just fade away. Do you have any advice on how to push through?

I got into the hobby in 2011/2012 at 12 years old around the time Heresy began to release. Granted I only got into the system a few years ago but I imagine if I'd got in back then. Half my life would have gone by waiting (and still waiting) for a singular Iron Warriors character model that's available outside of a two week period at Warhammer world, (looking at you Narik.) I'll be 25 by the end of this year and I wonder if I'll get to 30 without seeing one because at this rate it definitely feels like it.

Even the tourists have lost interest.

For the non-40k/AoS systems, they do not want to support the model lines with inventory or production in a long term. Its the same reason they are launching character models without rules and why more than half the model line for AoS dissappeared when they announced the new edition. They want impulse buyers, they don't want to build IPs, because that comes with the burden of needing to support them. People who care will buy and play and either move on or do community supported updates, but the net is only so wide. TLDR they want you to buy plastic but dont want you to hold onto it because then they can't sell you more plastic.

"Funny" thing about the Epic (sorry, Legions Imperialis) battlegroup boxes: They are only for a limited time avaiable - while stocks last. Because GW can't give a permanent discount (at least I assume that those boxes come with a discount) to the customer for a somewhat niche game, I guess ...

Im happy that the Avenger Strike Fighter is coming back for sale again. I got a box of them when Arenautica Imperialis was a thing, but didnt do anything with them yet. I just think they are neat models and now i can get more some day. Still would have liked to see Breachers in plastic or MK 5 in plastic or Destroyers in Plastic or anything for the Heresy, but i guess the small planes are. uh, neat.....l

Yes I agree, so many units need to be made because it's been years on now, also I got a box of lightning fighter from Aeronautica and want some avengers too along with a couple marauder bombers so Ebay for me. Since they're not available online, ch3ers brew and happy hunting.

I understand the criticisms of maelstrom that’s actually something 10th has mostly fixed with the tactical fixed dichotomy and the new cards on the few remaining feel bad mission draws

One thing I don't see mentioned is that though you note some of the things actually in need of updates there is the issue of GW having such an aggressive release schedule in recent years that they have hit a wall in terms of having new things to release. The low hanging fruit is mostly gone in terms of updates for 40k (We see them Primarising half the Stormcast now after only 9 years) and the SM codex is now fully groaning under the weight of it's own size. (I actually saw a post where a new player was put off the marines due to how confusing their page on the GW store has become) GW also has a policy of not putting out codex or army books with units with no model which means when they release a new model they need a rules book to go with it. Thus with few kits that need updates and few windows to release new units (And given how bloated the marine line is now no doubt such a unit would make the Centurions look like an excellent concept) there is a lot less hype for 40k than in recent months. (Made even more intense by GW clearing away releases around AoS 4th) Cherry on top is letting the inmates run the asylum by trying to make 40k adjust to balance autistic Nova meta with the help of a few guys from that insane scene with the result that people don't enjoy 10th and even when they do, they push a 100 page errata forcing them to have to relearn the rules. I just hope they don't ruin classic kits by updating them unnecessarily (Like they did with the Cadians) and in the new monopose and hard to kitbash style. I don't know how but I can see them ruining falcon grav tanks because the pilot is too small. They've still got DKK kits to release for a big payday but I think the meme cycle is now all about Salamanders so maybe their accountants will force them to release Vulkan in 40k.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The malaise is not only among us customers but also developers and the company itself. As I’ve said in the past it seems like they’re running out the clock on a game of musical chairs. Innovative games like Legions Imp are sabotaged (unintentionally) via poor process and true winners lime Heresy are abandoned to rot with inadequate support/care. Its no wonder my attention has turned to my backlog and other things like Trench Crusade.

Gw seem to be killing of as many 40k characters as possible. If they couldn't be arsed to make them in plastic off to legends they go. The ork codex was shocking for this.

Just a point on AoS, the AoS community as far as I have seen (and I am a part of it) is massively hyped for the new edition. The rules updates seem very good, and for the most part a lot of ridiculous rules bloat seems to be being removed in the army Indexes. Do we need an edition every 3 years? Absolutely not, but for a game as new as AoS the editions have at least made meaningful strides in refining the rules each iteration, so it doesn't entirely feel like AoS is comparible to 40K in that regard where new editions seem to almost entirely be a cynical cash grab. Edit, and people are very excited about the box, the Skaven are being refreshed and they are a bloved army that is massively in need of overhauling since some of its models are 30 years old

Of course GW cares about Legions Imperialis. That's why the basic models are constantly out of stock, and my local Warhammer store doesn't even get any stock to put on the shelves.

@@shadowshandbro and you also get all the different armour marks, with none of the problems of plastic injection moulding at that scale. Much better. I’ve seen 3D printed MK 3 Death Guard, and the detail is insane, with no fill-in to accomodate dynamic posing.

I loved Adeptus Titanicus, i really like the the Legions Imperialis idea and models. I really hate how LI is being handled and the release on drip feed

I agree 100% as an HH player I love every legion, and I love every faction that you can play. When it first came out with the Age of Darkness box, I had never heard of HH, but then I read the books, and was determined to get into the game. But once I did, I was disapointed. The Praetors to me were basic, yes making something have multiple possing might make it more expensie, but could you at least try, and why the capes? couldn't you make them look like commanders of armies without capes, having capes as an option is still cool, and would still be nice to see but forcing it to be apart of the model limits my ability to customize it, I'm not an advanced hobiest, and the weapon options, ugh! it sickens me, yes, I understand it would take away from your resin praetors that are worth more, but could you at least put a little effort. adding a praetor for each armour mark, then giving them multiple weapons options would appeal so much to beginners trying to jump into the hobby, but still want their praetors to carry some level of differance then everyone elses without having to use green stuff, or kitbashing. Yes, to you this isn't as big of a concern, and to them, its probably not even close. But just going, oh, heres a praetor who only has one pose, and one weapon to me is just absurd. Even just going, oh, mark III is more Imperial fist, Iron Warriors, Salamanders, and Iron Hands themed, lets give this praetor the ability to have the basics, a sword, and a power fist, but lets also throw in the option to give him a thunder hammer, a combat sheild, a bolt pistol, a plasma pistol, a flamer pistol, and so on. Well, if that wasn't enough, I sat down thinking to myself, where are all my options in plastic, Where are the breachers, destroyers, and quad battery launchers, those to me seem so simple to add in plastic, with the new Mark III upgrades, you think they'd go, oh, lets just take those sculpts, tweek them a bit, and give them a sheild. but no, they're not even going to bother yet. Even if they do, they'll end up doing an upgrade kit for all the different weapons options, and not adding them with the kit, and whats worse is they probably wont do what they did with the assualt squads, but instead just release an upgrade kit for breachers, and go heres some combat sheilds, just add them to the tactical squad, which might be something you want, but I'd rather another kit for them that gives the models more of a sheild gripping look, and not look like its just sitting on their arm. I can't even with the amount of things I have to say, just wanted to give a basic sense of how frusterated I am with the game, don't even get me started with the Consul's being in resin, I think they should be in plastic, obvious not everyone will feel the same, but thats all for my tangent. I think vect will come out next edition. I think itll be space marines and dark eldar in 11th edition. More fast attack primaris stuff captain and the rest of hqs on bike and jump packs and a neo volkite unit.

How you feel about Sons of Horus, I feel about Space Marines in 40k. Take a hatchet to the range, too much.

I have enough enough models to not buy anything for years, GDubbs is failing pretty hard to pull into buying anything from them ever again. It's all so tiring.

Most of of people that play AoS have dropped it when old world came out and it’s only got 3 fully released factions.

I just got my airbrush setup this week. That got me going pretty good, Im really excited to try bust work. I got some STLs for EPIC too and want to get into some OPR Battlefleets. Im building my own hype I suppose.

To defend needing a 4th Edition of AoS, 3rd Edition’s rules were written needlessly complicated for a game that is/was played by mostly casuals.

GW has locked their games onto 4 year release cycles. Whether or not they need a new edition or not you're gonna get one.

New editions exist to sell a new big box and rulebook That being said, 4e appears to be as big a shift as 10e was for 40k which is obnoxious. They do have a purpose for the gameplay, but the 10e execution was so bad it didn't shine through.

If it is GW then I already lost all hype (if I had any).

I went to my GW store as I do every months to get my free mini (this time it was an awfully cringy black waman marauder of chaos with the side of the head shaved, because this is the new woke GW) and looked around if there was something, ANYTHING worth picking up. The only thing I saw was the Kroot Hounds that finally got released.... and they were 50 CAD (before tax) for 5 dogs. That's 10 buck for a monopose, rather small dog mini. I think this realization may have been the last straw that broke my passion and will to continue. I will slowly paint the (way too many) boxes I have, but I don't see myself buy things for a long while, if ever.

They make too many game systems that need big support, they cant keep upto demand so key things just dont get made,or when they do ots sold out in 10 seconds and gone for 8-12 weeks

I dislike the card turn mechanics for points. Like Macca said, Hold enemy territory on turn 1 is not an achievable goal. yes you can burn the card, but that comes at cost to you of a CP. so a CP tax for a bad draw??? like WTF. If a card turn mechanic is to be used, there should be 2 provisos: turn 1 cards that are outside of 18 inches of deployment can be rejected for free, turn 1 cards held by the opponent can be disregarded. behind enemy lines T1 is a waste of a draw and a tax to keep, a seize enemy position when the only position is inside the enemy deployment zone.... just not fun.

It’s amazing to how desensitized and dull we’ve become for product releases/announcements. There should be a study into GW’s absolute stupidity.

From what i gather about AOS, its being redone or configured to be easy to keep balanced. To me it looks promising but another stormcast box is annoying.

I have completely fallen off the gw bandwagon since the hh armour update. Which is totally not shocking as 8th/primaris did 40k for me. However, I have received no messages about new releases over the last few months from friends I know still play hh and I tried to ignore primaris and play 40k but the game, company, and ip itself doesn't feel how I remember between 4th and 7th and I can't stay enthusiastic

Here is a Question as an Iron Warriors player: If your a traitor player; You get Perturabo and Golg. Now Golg dies early in the Heresy, so there are technically no characters for you to use when playing as an IW following the story. If your a Loyalist; You have Kyr Valen and Narik, but where is Dantioch as he is THE IW character. Narik is an event exclusive model. So where are the main Traitor characters: Forrix + Kroeger + Barban Falk = Trident Borossus = Warsmith in Dread Toramino = Leader of the Stor-Bezashk Loyalist characters: Barabas Dantioch To name a few IW characters that were a major part of the series?

Don't apologize. Call it how you see it, I'll keep listening. After getting back into 40k since 2nd - 3rd ed. HH has my attention because it feels more like the game I knew. I want a Black Shield with an Eldar weapon, just because. I built a knight and am writing rules where it is ancient, mad scenery on the board, then randomly activates and attacks, just because random, quirky weird play was what I remember what we did back in the day. I'm starting to look elsewhere, other rules and 3d printers. The question is how you support your local store...

GW used to use new editions to completely change up the system. Now they just use new editions to un-fuck the system then spend the next 5 years fucking up. That holds no interest for me. Legions Imp model rules and combat are ok but the scenario victory conditions are widely seen as some of the worst. Veteran Epic players have ditched them en masse to play the older, better, gameplay types.

Dark Eldar are 11th Ed launch

The thing I don't get is in 40k the culled the 30k armour and gear for 40k like the leviathan dreds or the storm eagle gunship. In epic they didn't bother with none marine factions it just lazy and completely missing the point of the game that they should be developing.

@@anexistanthuman2435 I don't but I get what you are saying, I feel they should be eligible especially if they have made a recent plastic kit with the intention of selling them. It's different for a decade old kit that hasn't been sold or looked at for balance in just as long.

You already know that it will be. And you also already know that people won't give up on it, because they're simps and addicted / mentally ill.

Xenos in Epic are not worth it, both rules-wise and production-wise. Original Epic couldn't support them, Aeronautica couldn't support them. Horus Heresy is a human-centric setting Besides, the rules are really good, and there is no Imperial Fists in 2.0-level problems

Get the game to a good state and then dont make huge changes or rework the entire system but concentrate on models and factions

Feel like old world guys deserve a little bit of a pass just off the fact that unless they wanted to play tomb kings, brets, or orcs or intend to pay third party prices/print they are just sitting around waiting for their faction if they didn’t already have an army. That is kind of where issue lays. People that genuinely do want to build, paint, and play a faction are just sitting on their hands for what could at this point potentially snow ball into years of waiting especially if they want to play one of the unsupported factions.

Honestly try different games at this point, 40k is not getting better.

As much as I defend the sons of horus in the comments on this channel I cant actually defend the company for making all the wrong models for the range. Abaddon needs a new model and instead they make every other character who nobody cares about or ever takes. Horus aximand being made makes sense for sure, but every other character besides them isnt needed. why didnt they make characters for the other legions? Idk why 5 legions have no special characters or praetors. Why arent their legion upgrades for torsos anymore? Monopose is so stupid, its a shitty practice and its annoying seeing all this shit

How often are you playing AOS? I feel this is such a weird video man, I normally adore your content, but this isnt right regarding AOS - AOS has a HUGE killing problem everything is over turned, heroes are wiping entire packs clean, Ironclads are dominating board movement, Court eaters JUST KEEP COMING BACK, Fyreslayers and Deepkin have no models or playerbase. Siege rules only really introduced in the last 5 mini series of books. AOS Desperately needs 4th man, 1st edition was written by a PLAYER not GW, they adopted his take (look it up) and yes 2nd was good and 3rd was great but the game needs a rehaul, a bunch of new heroes, chaffs, army mechanics that all need to be toned down and bring the game back to what it was - objectives and smart decisions.... Its very much ZUG ZUG for many armies and far too swingy with the double turn mechanic literally ending the average players day on 1st turn double. This switch over to AOS 4 and the new rules are completely welcomed by the community and we appreciate all the changes AOS 4 so far has en masse (join any community for example AOS Coach in AUS) its over whelmingly positive in general, some players are unhappy (ogres) but we are only seeing snippets of what they have done. I am 100% with you that AOD needs some love, some nice revamps and some 40k factions definately have a large debt with GW for their lack of attention but I felt I had to type this out to you, its wrong to look at AOS in a negative light right now, its growing so much the community is amazing and tournament support is through the roof.
