Congrats on passing your test. As much as i was squinting, cringing, and puckered during the bend test, i bet no one was as much as you were. Congrats again for passing. Im sure you could pass the abs masters with your skills. Just have to put the time in now that you have the journeyman

Dayum. Not only did the blade not crack or break, it dang near came back to true. To answer the question you ask. No. Not worried a bit. You were way too happy in the intro for the test to have been a failure.

Congratulations with passing the test! I'm sure you will pass the rest with flying colors. Your copper pattern-welded, black-washed knives are the most beautiful I've ever seen. I'm personally mostly into folding knives, since I have no use for (and can't legally carry) a fixed-blade knife in my day-to-day time, but I really enjoy your channel and your work. The copper/black-washed combination is perfect; a little bit edgy (pun intended), extremely classy, without going overboard on either parameter.

Considering I watched the test knife, and was amazed at its performance, I was sort of chill about the tests, but I still got anxious at the bending, but was sure it would be fine, Tyrell knives are always fine. As a conclusion, congratulations on becoming a journeyman smith, you earned it. 👍👍👍 👏👏👏

I am constantly amazed by the bladesmithers. Here we saw an apprentice pass his journeyman test and the master smith then asks the newly made journeyman "hey, show us how you make that cool new stuff". And after that's done, they all make some cool Damascus together. The amount of info and technique sharing is just amazing.

Well done!👍🏼. So far, only things I've succeeded in heat treating is my hot cut hardy made from sucker rod and a chisel and punch made from coil spring.

Thanks! The presentation knives will be quite plain though. It’s all about fit and finish so nothing fancy. When I test for Master, then I’ll get fancy! 👍

@@TyrellKnifeworks Still, fit and finish are what separates good bladesmiths from great bladesmiths. I have a couple Todd Begg, and Pat Crawford knives that aren't fancy ( couldn't afford the fancy ones, heh ) but the fit and finish on them are superb. Hopefully one day I'll be able to snag one of your copper damascus blades.
Congrats, both on passing the nasty part of the test, and for having your beautiful blade featured in a National magazine! No doubt in my mind you will complete the balance of the JS process with flying colors.

I had no doubts that you'll pass the test! Congratulations Denis! It's very cool that you have so many great makers around.. I highly doubt that there is any Mastersmith in Poland or neighbourhood.

Haha, yeah it was pretty a cool feeling when it was all done. 👍
I wasn't nervous when you reached 90 degrees. From the narrative I already gathered that you passed... but when he kept going "a little more" I started worrying that the test was graded "how much further than 90 degrees before it snaps" or something like that... just when he said stop I was going "don't flinch when it snaps, don't flinch when it snaps!"... Jesus that was intense!

Remember that the handle is inside the tube at an angle. The knife has to be at 90 degrees, not just the tube. Thanks for watching!
