Don’t scold yourself for untouched books. I can tell they are loved and appreciated so they are serving their purpose. I have more than I could ever color and some I may never put color to as I have no talent but I still love to admire them as a picture book. They bring me joy and ignite my imagination. They even take me to places I may never get to physically go to and they take me to beautiful places and beings that do not even exist in physical form ❤️

Lucy Just Adds Colour - Adult Colouring TY! I know I get too deep but I must say that I love to watch you colorist take something that is already beautiful and bring it to life and shape it through color. It’s just magical. Makeup and coloring are the only two art firms within my grasp and possible talents to harness the power of color. Playing with both is great fun. Sometimes I DO wish that I could wash away mistakes and start over the way you can with makeup, I must admit.

I am the same. The other part is a fear of the "empty page syndrome" artists get. I am afraid of ruining the book with beginner attempts at colouring. I think what would work for me is the Amazon books with the double pages. Any suggestions anybody for books or artists that use Amazon paper?

I also have a few books I haven't color÷d in...but I w>lol someday. Alot of them scare me too, So I understand that. But the more I I look thou%h them the more they lose power over me. Thank you for your honesty. And for your humor. You are so real and I love that about you! Besides all of that, you are a beautiful colorist, a,d I get such enjoyment from your channel.

I can relate to being selfish with my art supplies and coloring books! My daughter colored in my Mermaids in Paradise coloring book by Denyse Klette so I told her she could have it and I'll just buy another one for me lol! I do share my art supplies with her, but she never uses my Prismas. She likes my Castle Arts soft touch pencils so she uses those! I did tell her that she is not allowed to EVER sharpen one of my Prismas lol! They can break easily so I don't want anyone else to sharpen them!

You have a beautiful collection of future colouring ahead of you. My son gave me Daisy Fletcher book. I later bought her Birdtopia her first book. So beautiful. I googled colour palettes and looked for photos on the net of animals, birds etc as she gives you the names of the subjects she draws. I

I have a secret. I have two large bookshelves full of high quality colouring books such as yours, and I have only coloured in one, and it is one picture AND a W.I.P only. I have a bookshelf of keepers I keep for the value of enjoying them as art books admiring the illustrations. My style is like your pictura fairies book. I would colour them but only a copied page, I value the books as art books to colour in them. The other bookshelf has Amazon or independently published books not done on cardstock thick paper, my creative haven books, and all others, bought so I wont find them too precious to ruin yet I still want to keep them pristine. I am a total beginner coloured, with years of learning off of youtube but not putting into practice. I have doubles of my favourite books, yet still havent coloured in them. I like to look at the pictures. I know I have a problem. And I keep buying though out of bookshelf space. I have boxedy actual books I know I won't colour in but use for cutting up, then colouring for an art journal/ scrapbóoking journal.

Love your collection. Thanks for sharing. My wish list just got bigger.

If you ever colour "Into the Wild", that would be fantastic...I have that book and have not touched it yet....It's been a couple of years since this video so maybe you have already completed a page and shared in your video library.

Love watching your video's, you are so funny and come across really friendly. I loved colouring and arts and crafts when I was growing up and always had a Reeves art set for Christmas and no end of craft things for birthdays and Christmas's. I was well chuffed when I heard about adult colouring because now I could do something I loved again. I love using coloured pencils and have quite a few different sets. I also have lots of different colouring books too of all kinds, from Mandalas to Flower Fairies, Angels etc. Unfortunately I'm not that brilliant at colouring in that I don't always get the shading right but I'm watching the You tubes and working on it. If I see a book I fancy I make a note of it and also any useful tools etc. I have plenty of time now I live on my own after losing my husband nearly 18 months ago. I heard you mention you have fibromyalgia the other night. I too have it and arthritis and other things, since the early 90's and I'm 60 this year. I hope you don't suffer too badly as I know you work at a school. Take care and keep up the good work xxx

i think the pop manga coloring book you showed might be pages with stolen artwork.... you shoul let Camilla know about this because it`s very sad people steal other peoples artwork and use them in their own books without concent. it was a very lovely video to watch, hope you get a few of these books ticked off your list soon :)

I also have coloring books I haven’t could lured in. I am lucky if I finish a page in a coloring book. I purchase my first Jasmine Becket-Griffith Halloween coloring book this year and in plenty of time for Halloween . I did not color in it. I get in these funks where I don’t want to color. Today I am just moping around my house. 👍🖍

Oh my gosh watership down, that film traumatised me when I was a kid. I still can't watch it as an adult, makes me cry even when I hear the song lol. I have the Eery romantic country and now 5 of Tim Jeff's books that I haven't coloured in at all. I'm trying to find that animal wonderland but can't find it anywhere. It must of been popular because everywhere seems to have sold out 😢

I have a couple of Hannah Lynn's books and I love them I've been doing one in pencil and the other in pen I also love jade summers books great video I'm from Scotland a wee town called callander

Yay. More than I; in both categories. I made a pledge to finish each WIP before starting a new page. VERY hard to be faithful to that.

Wow-I haven’t seen anyone else with “Into the Wild.” I find it intimidating as well. I also have “Rainforest Escape”-I overcame my intimidation with it yesterday, because my hand hurt too much for pencil coloring. I just accepted that I was going to mess up a lot in it because I don’t know what I’m doing with watercolors. 😅 But it was fun, once I accepted that. I don’t know if you ended up working in these, but if you want to tackle something from them as a buddy color, let me know. 👍😊

Same here. About half of books untouched or colored just 1 page or WIP in them. Not that i have that big collection ( 48 books today). Somehow i manage to finish few earlier books (patterns and mandalas) and some books are going to finish soon. Better count how many pages done in year and things doesn't look so bad (about 120 last year)! Most of my untouched books i grab because i was afraid they'll be out of print, some are and i'm happy to have them. Most of uncolored books are beyond my current coloring skills and i don't want to damage image.

For some reason, I find I don’t need to think so much with mandalas. You can go with the flow! I do one ince in a while for a more relaxed experience.

Lucy you and I are of the same mind - I am not a mandala person either, I prefer grayscale, and I too know the fear of messing up the page in a book I love! But again, the Grazia that you did ( I think it was in May?) was totally gorgeous, very special.

I find the more I colour the less scared I get. I also think of the money I have spent on books and various pencils and think they are there to be used. If it doesn't work out it doesn't work out but not for the want of trying. When I get a new book I colour in at least one image I also take my books in turn. Thank you, your books are beautiful!

Hi Lucy, I’d love to see you colour in the Molly Harrison books. I have one and I’m not sure what to use in it because of the paper, especially for the backgrounds as the greyscale is quite dark on some of the images.

Hi Lucy. I started following you about six months ago. Colored the Mandrill in the Fragile World book using the same colors you used. I also have the In The Wild book that I don't care for nor colored in it. Maybe we can do a color along. I have never done one, but I am open to it.

I would love to do a color along in Fabiana Attanasio’s Peter Pan, Hansel & Gretel or Snow White.

Hi Lucy, such a good idea for keeping any papers together. I am guilty of owning a huge number of colouring books, many of which were really cheap and only had a few pictures I would want to colour. I think I might consider extracting all the good pages from them and keeping them together. Should give me some much needed bookshelf space! I’m trying to buy the better quality books now but I am so addicted to getting a new book. You have given me a lot to go on my wish list. Just a matter of time before some of them are on my bookshelf! Back to the filing, I am trying to order my paperwork a bit better and I think they could just be a breakthrough. I have ordered a pack of 10 with pretty pastel colours slip ons. Thanks for the idea.

Please don't be hard on yourself for untouched books you will get to them eventually ...I cut a great deal of my books up and place them in protector sheets. for future art journal I start get certain stuff for it

Hi Lucy 💜💜, I was really hoping you would have more uncolored books then me, alas I have more lol...but to my credit I got really sick and had to learn almost everything all over again, I am just coming back to normal, but I am afraid to color because I can’t color like I used to my hands don’t work the way they used to so I am practicing a lot until I can color like I used to, I used to paint I loved painting I would make beautiful forest scenes, Misty forests, I cannot paint anymore because I cannot hold my arm up long enough to paint, but I can hold pencils and aqua brushes now so that’s wonderful, hopefully you’ll be seeing something of mine soon. Bye Lucy, I love your videos, you are funny, when you said, let me take a drink I’m starting to sound like a man, I about fell off my seat laughing so hard because my voice gets like a man, lol I got my voice from my mother her voice was so deep, once in a store she came up to a salesman he had his back to her, she said excuse me can you tell me where so-and-so is and he said excuse me sir I’ll be right with you, we kids laughed so hard! Thank you for that memory it was wonderful, OK I’m gonna shut my mouth now bye-bye. 😂😂

Dearest, Keni. I really admire your determination not to be beaten by illness. I do know how it can get you down when you are unable to do the things you love. I cant wait to see some of your work! Keni, you truly are an inspiration and a wonderful support to me. I am glad I can make you laugh. BTW, I just made 500 subs! xxxx

Hi Keni, hope you’re feeling much better and recovering. I can empathize with you, I have lupus and other conditions and have almost had to learn to use my hands again, as well as do other activities. Glad to hear you’re practicing to color and paint again. Best wishes to you.😊

Thank you Rana. I have put them to one side so I can work through them.

I give myself permission to mess up one page per book so I can experiment, test the paper quality, use different mediums and go from there! It's perfectly okay to just collect the book too lol! Enjoyed your video!

I think we all suffer from the glitch of buying books n don’t colour in them,I’m sure that’s my nightmare Lucy too so u r not on your own ❤️

My Excuse On Some Of Colourung Books Is. I Just Dont Want To Ruin Them I Have The Flower Year, Not Used It, I Just Do Not Think I Am Anywhere Near Good Enough Colouring

Whats so special about pencil pastels?? The only kind I dont have... please describe them?

Hi Maria, I just find them so easy to work with for a number of reasons: they blend really easily, rub out if you make a mistake and layer really well. They are just like the pastel sticks you can get but in pencil form which gives you more control. I hope that helps answer your question. 💖🎄

Thank you, Kelly. It is like an addiction. im always looking for new books. I think it keeps the hobby exciting. I love all things to do with art. I could spend all day in art shops haha x
