You are doing such Brilliant job in de cluttering your coloring books and It must be tough, but you are doing so well. Really proud of you . Remember watching you with your hauls back in the day hahahha well done anyway. Happy Art Journey
Just don't let this happen: get rid of a book, then miss it and months later, you buy it again!

Yes I could imagine that happening with books I've had for a while but those that I have never coloured in I don't think I'll miss 🥰

Don’t let the thought that you may end up replacing a decluttered book one day put you off decluttering in the first place. One replaced book is worth it to have a simplified craft room, space to be creative and breathe, no debt and easier stash management.
Adorable 😚🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣
It seems almost sacrilegious to declutter (or not buy in the first place) some of those uber popular books.. but really we get sucked in too many times by what everyone is doing. I kept Ivy, Worlds of Wonder, and Worlds of Flowers.. and that's it from Bassford. And I'm fine with it. When Rooms came out I must have looked at it twenty times.. but really I only like about a third of it.. so no, no buy from me. You couldn't pay me to color an entire page of office supplies LOL. I kept two Mayo's, Animals and Magical Creatures I do really love. I kept I think three K. Rosanes. One each of a couple of other "coloring royalty" authors, most went away entirely. At one point I came "this" close to decluttering ALL of my double sided books because I just never actually colored in them. I always go for something I can base in marker because it's so much easier and faster. Their entire purpose is to color in so if they have been sitting there empty.. or with one page in a year or more.. there is a reason whether I want to admit it or not, and really.. you can only color so much in any given time period. I average a week per page (sometimes longer for only pencil large scale books) and a single Bassford or Rosanes would take me a year to finish even if it was the only book I ever colored in. By the time I actually finish that one book, how many more will have come out for me to choose from? Loads. I wound up keeping that very much cut down selection of the double sided with the decision they would be watercolor pencil/inktense only... it's the only thing that saved them. Took two huge stacks of books to work and made a bunch of people happy.
Well done Lily look forward to seeing final result xx 😍

Its when I couldn't fit any more onto my 6 cubes I realised things had got a bit excessive! It feels much nicer having less to look through and decide what to colour. 🥰
So much fun to watch, thank you for sharing your destash. I stil don’t feel brave enough to go through my coloring books and supplies🤭 i was on a no buy for a month and i just broke it a few days ago, realy im just to bad 😱saying that the rest of my house is very minimalistic and have a lot of empty spaces, so i think im kinda oke with my art room more filled with stuff. ( everything is nicely stored behind doors so the look is calm of my room🥰)

It's taken me a while to get to this stage. I did a month no-spend in 2021 and then three months in 2022. My goal for this year was longer but I've definitely let go of more than I've purchased. My craftroom is, like you, the only non-minimal room in the house. Thanks for watching, it's good to connect with people with a similar mindset 🥰
There are some lovely books there. Ideas for my future stash.

Hi another wonderful video. i love watching these flick through as it helps me to decide whether i would buy them or not, as you cant always tell when seeing them on amazon look inside and then they are sitting in the basket/wish list. As another brit i love listening to your chatter describing your life and artistic choices.. Plus i love to see your honest opinion on what is worth buying and what isn't. i have certainly bought from the works and the range and love the decotime set. Have you got the 220 pencil set or the metal case of 300 markers yet?? Take care and keep slurping your brew. ... LOL

Ohhh that metal case of 300 markers Rebecca! Doesn't it look lush? Can't beat a cuppa tea 😄 Thanks for a lovely comment, always nice to meet other Brit colourists 🥰
Where’s Noddy? Lovely books can’t wait to see the next video. Good destash to cleanse and feel refreshed. If you have a scanner you could probably destash even more. Sometimes you like only a handful of images and so end up keeping the entire book. Consider to make a copy of the image you want and pass on the book. You can then choose to keep a soft copy or get the images printed and colour the when you want. This helps to declutter the space even more.

Not sure we if we have available in the US, I love coloring books with animals & nature.

I'd like to do that too but I don't know what to do with them. I keep thinking I should see if the hospital or something might use them. @@ArtJourneyUK In that Mythographic book, I couldn't see a snake but I think there were legs? Could it be a spider or a beetle? I really like Kerby's old books with the little hidden things. I love how he made a picture out of odd things and it worked, but I didn't like the ones with great big stuff sticking out like sore thumbs. I guess I am one of the few that liked them (I hope I am not the only one...) They make me think of Escher?, the sort of pictures like the fish that change into birds?
If there is a page you rly love you can always snap a picture of it print it but not keep the book you did pay for it after all. I do understand that not everyone has that option. I make sure i never buy something i am iffy about or dont love. So i dont have to do this, also most of mine are non amazon printed and if they are i scan or snap picture and print on paper i dont hate same with colouring heaven hate paper there too >.< so i snap on what i like then my neice gets them to colour. Dont like things going to waste.

@@ArtJourneyUK I love that you are very mindful. Its one of the reasons i watch you i think. I too like the mentally of not keeping things you dont use. Also there is so many colouringbooks now a days so why not only have things you love and know you will use. I get some might buy to do hauls for their youtube but it seems wastefull as papers isnt a free resurce after all. For some reason everyone got on the Basford bandwagon and the creepies and the mandalas. I don't get it. Coloring should be fun, relaxing, satisfying. These books (and many others) irritate, annoy, creep or bore.
