I'm really inspired by this! I recently got a diagnosis of stage 4 leukaemia, just a week after I started watching your videos. I swore that at 86, I am not too old to also follow the Shuffle Journey. I got some new shoes and one of those adorable caps you sometimes wear. and I was starting out. My granddaughter, who introduced me to your videos said, "grammy, be careful, you will fall!" but I said, "Emylee's Shuffle Journey has inspired me". Well, what do you know, the first day I was trying some double-time moves following you, I fell because stupid cat ran through, and I fell! My darling grandaughter found me the next day in the garage (because you sometimes like to dance in the garage!) and took me to hospital but I said, "no, don't worry, everyone can fall when the follow Emylee's Shuffle Journey, it is normal". But she took me and all is good because the did tests to find out if it was just broken hip, and this is how they know the cancer. Now I am so mad! Doctor and granddaughter both stop me to dance on my Shuffle Journey, but I must improve because I do not have so long to spend 5 years to improve like you. You are my inspiration!!❤🙏🔥🕺

Amazing video. After five years of work, you finally made everything look easy and a natural flow. The first videos were clearly you trying to work on specific moves and, over time, increasing the difficulty. But the early years all had the stiffness of a person trying to learn the moves. The last year was someone in their comforth zone, relaxing into doing the moves. At times, you were so smooth and relaxed, you might have been thinking about your ToDo list. It was amazing.

1:43 vs 6:23 While your dancing has gotten so much better and stylish, you have also gotten in much better shape! The difference in your ending moves definitely show that. She's forcing it early on, she makes her steps too large and her hops too high (like most beginners do) which takes a lot of energy. That's what makes it look clumsy too.

OMG I love this! I have been recently forcing myself to lift weights, which I HATE WITH A PASSION, because I'm a middle aged woman with osteoporosis and need to gain bone density. But my soul is a DANCER! Dancing is one of the few exercises I actually love. (I'm a wild dancer and broke my right foot -- 5th metatarsal...called a "dancer's fracture", chipped my ankle, and damaged ligaments/tendons in 1/2021 when I was taking a work break and was jumping, sliding, etc. in my condo on hardwood floors and accidentally landed on the outside of my foot instead of the sole after a leap.) Watching you in this video, what you're doing HAS to help bone density due to the pounding. At least, I want to believe that. I think dancers' bodies are the most attractive (all types of dancers from ballet to hip hop) of all. You gain FUNCTIONAL strength vs. bulky useless muscles. Honestly, I think if everyone on this troubled planet danced, the world would be a happier place.

  • @sophiachang2024

Hello fellow (former) dancer and also getting closer to the bone density concern years! Due to disability I had to stop dancing and am now weightlifting as well (though I frickin' love it). I never thought about it until this comment -- you'd think the impact WOULD help bone density, wouldn't it? It's hard for me as a plebe to know how much force it actually exerts, but that's a great point. p.s. the weightlifting won't bulk you if you're recomposing rather than actively bulking! It's also a key component for leaning out for us gals. Keep going!

OK you don’t know what it’s like to come across a video with the title of yours right here. I have always always always wanted to learn how to shuffle. And for the longest time I thought I was too far gone. I’m a 38 year old mom rather at home mom of three. I homeschool them my life is all about my kids but this is something I’ve just always wanted to do and I’m so freaking excited. I immediately bought your package I put on my goofiest, biggest whitest shoes I could find and went out on my back porch while my kids were watching a movie and just worked through three of the videos. I feel stupid I feel frumpy, but I’m just going to work through this. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.

Yoooo. I was just want to say as a newcomer here, watching this ROCKS! Inspires me that maybe even I, who has never danced in any kind of professional way (or really even in public if I can help it) lol - that it IS super possible to learn to dance and look awesome doing it and have fun! This is super inspiring. Thanks :)

I feel like I could be really good at shuffle dancing and it will come naturally for me if I take the time to learn it. It’s been a goal of mine for a while to learn how to shuffle dance. In high school I was studying it and interested in it. I am now 21 wanting to learn how to do I’m going to start forcing myself to get into it. I keep telling myself that it’s hard and I should give up on it but I don’t want to !! It looks so fun and free and I want to be able to dance like that. I know it’s going to take some time and effort but I believe in myself and believe that I have the ability to be confident in it and be amazing at it !! This video was inspiring thank you 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
