No new books for me this year as I quit the hobby back in 89. Just like to think back during my days. CGC has been grading collectibles for a while before they went to comic book as they have been grading coins & paper money well before. Good luck on your wish-list....

Awesome list! Our #1’s are the same book! Only difference is I’m looking for that first copy for myself, hopefully able to acquire around a 2.5. I agree with you on still using cgc as a service, but this issue does unfortunately go well beyond 181’s and Bronze Age keys. They released an official effected book list and there’s a 6.5 SS(Stan Lee) amazing Fantasy 15 on there… that’s gonna cause some issues for them(CGC) I believe. I just hope for everyone that things get sorted out properly and they do a better job of product security moving forward for themselves and the collectors.

Anthony, your collection goals are spot on. I hear a lot of guys talking about their want lists. I think they are doing it wrong and are hurting themselves from getting their true goals.

The CGC "scandal" has been dramatized for the sake of KZread views. And many KZread viewers are easily influenced (people like to join things). I agree with you and also wouldn't hesitate to use CGC. For nostalgic reasons only, I might try to pick up some of my favourite Bronze Age #1s (What If, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Planet of the Apes, Peter Parker the Spectacular Spiderman, Star Wars, Black Panther, etc). But I'll wait to see if prices keep dropping first.

Agreed 100% with you, brother!

The problem i have with how cgc is handling it is they arent giving people apecifics about how they will be compensated. They want you to send the fraud books in without knowing what they will do. Do they refund at current marlet value? Or 2021 values? Or what?

When you do upgrade one of your books, will you just jump at the deal or will you first sell your copy to help fund the new book??

Love the reasoning behind your list. Not many top 10 seekers provide this detail! If I were to make a top 10 list, it too would be full of upgrades. There are a few books that I gave up upgrading but now that prices have come down on all non-Golden Age keys, I have a second chance.
