Excellent video. I can relate, my favorite character is Daredevil and last year I upgraded number 1 from a 7.0 OW/W to a 7.5 W and it was monumental. I never loved the 7.0 copy as it just had a dinge to it and the 7.5 almost glows, super proud to own it. It's not just the number you are upgrading, but your overall pride of the book and like you said the overall foundation of your collection.

That is awesome; I am in the process of uprading my Dd1 - not to a 7.5, but to something better than what I had for years.

Excellent job. Especially good to listen to while I'm dismantling a bicycle i found and parting it out. Reminds me of recent heritage auction of golden age stuff. And some particulars going for astronomical $$$😂❤

YT comic videos have really turned to the “ugly” part of the hobby. Away from why most started with comic books in the first place. People today seem to gravitate to the negative, perhaps it makes them feel better about their situation, not really sure. I try to keep things fun and talk about the hobby. You have been on a great upgrade run! There is something to aspiring to a goal and then reaching it.

Yeah, there have been a new slew of videos like that; they are getting the views though, so I guess that is why that is more popular to watch these days. The upgrade run continues this year and will continue for several years to come!

Great video. As I have watched your channel over the years, I have taken a similar collection journey. I too finished my silver age run of X-men around the same time as you did. I’ve stopped acquiring big books after last years “big get” of TMNT #1 first print CGC 9.0. I’m satisfied with my collection, but would still like to own a JIM 83 or TOS 39. However, justifying the spend is really hard. I’m currently evaluating my collection with the goal of pairing it down similar to what ETA Nick did. Still collecting smaller runs such as Marvel Premiere.

TMNT #1 is certainly a big get. The X-Men 5.0 was a bog get for me, so the big book in that price range will probably slow down quite a bit for me, but for those under it... : )

Love your videos. 👍 Also enjoy the backdrops to them with all the game collections going back to NES. Have you considered making a video about physical media versus streaming/downloaded? Seems to be a lot of discussion increasing about people sticking with or reverting to “physical media” (games, movies) because they “own” it and can reminisce about a collection easier. The other side cites “clutter”. Would be curious to get your take on the trends and discussions evolving about it. Cheers
