You’re absolutely right, these would sound so much better live in concert. The thing about Taemin and Shinee is that the MVs really don’t do them justice. The liver performances are always 100x better. Besides Taemin, Jonghyun and Onew have some of the best vocals of their generation, Jonghyun is still considered to be one of the best in the industry, even though he’s not with us anymore. If you want to get a feel for the group, I recommend the live versions of “Excuse Me Miss” and “Strangers” from their 2015 concert. I think that would be a great teaser to introduce them, and then if you still want to get into them, then please continue the journey.

this is my fav thing ab artists who want to showcase other stuff during performances (ie choreo). they don’t lip sync but just close their mouths/make it obvious they aren’t singing those parts. it’s so much more enjoyable. when i see somebody lip syncing i automatically don’t watch anymore. i’d rather hear bad vocals than that!!!

For Taemin’s vocals, I recommend his ballads like “Until Today,” “Hypnosis,” “Back To You,” “Soldier,” “Rise,” and “I’m Crying”

Taemin is my bias, and NCT and EXO is my favorite group since f(x) is not active 😭, all of this was before they started SuperM, so I am glad that a lot of more people getting know them because of SuperM!

SHINee in general deserves a part 2! Especially “Sherlock”, “married to the music”, or “odd eye” live!

Taemin was a baby when I first saw him lol I mean he really debuted so young with SHINee so seeing him do Move for the first time, I was like "no sir, I still you as your SHINee hyungs baby, you don't get to do THAT". But I really like Criminal as well. His latest album last year, was really good. You should check that out. Also if you haven't noticed Michael Jackson is one of his favorite artist. I can see it on the way he moves when he dances. He is really an ACE. An all rounder. An idol of idols.

I would like to recommend you Nct U "Boss" And NCT U "Baby don't stop" For when you feel ready to be introduced to the other Super M members and NCT. Just know that you will need the thirst aid kit. In "Boss" MV you will find: Taeyong, Lucas and Mark which are members in SuperM. Other members are: Doyoung, Jungwoo, Jaehyun, WinWin. In "Baby don't stop" you will find Taeyong again and Ten. And that would be all members in Superm. Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin, Taeyong, Lucas, Mark and Ten. And then I am sure you will fall for the charms of NCT.

Artistic experience. Though since Kyungsoo's unpredictable, imagine if we got something like Criminal from him. I mean, we got a cartoon when he released his solo song, that was pretty unpredictable. if you want to react to vocals check out a live stage of “Heaven” from 2020 on music shows, he is really an insanely good vocalist for being the main dancer of his group. All of SHINee have exceptional vocals ❤️ Taemin also writes songs btw but the lyrics he writes tend to be more.. sentimental? (for example Day and Night, Soldier, 2 Kids, Pansy etc are some songs he wrote and they’re all “slower” and more emotional than what you’ve heard just now) One song I can really recommend is “Under my Skin” it’s a completely different side of him and it has a MV but in this one maybe reacting to a lyric video is also good because he released the song after a really difficult time in his life and it’s full of meaning. Taemin didn’t write the lyrics to this one but told the songwriter what message he wants to convey ❤️ And another song where his vocals shine beautifully is “RISE” from his Sirius tour this one is actually a MUST listen and performance to watch, many more people should see it! Other than that Taemin, despite his artist persona, is actually a really shy guy even after being in this industry for 13 years (he debuted with SHINee at the age of 14) He is really sweet and quite naive bc he’s been the maknae for so long but also has this really professional side to him which only comes out in interviews about his craft ❤️

OKAY SO HERE’S A TEA ABOUT TAEMIN’S “CRIMINAL” 👑 Criminal is based on STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. There was a verse that says: “I’ve been collared by you It hurts so much that I can’t breathe, But I’m in ecstasy” It’s said that the lyrics were made based on STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. It’s where fear starts to make you feel positive emotions for a person keeping you in an extreme situation. This particularly happened in a bank robbery that occured in Stockholm, Sweden in 1973 where four employees were held hostage by robbers in a standoff with the police. Attachment formed between hostages and robbers. Hostages refused to testify against robbers and EVEN PROTECTED THEM. Swedish criminologist and psychiatrist Nils Bejerot named it STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. “I know well that it’s bad for me, that gaze and those movements Though I try to escape you Like I’m brainwashed, I nod along” THE LYRICS FIT THE CONCEPT SO WELL! Now, you can see there were 2 main characters in the MV portrayed by Taemin himself. The first one is the criminal who was chained by the police force. Second, the flower-like, innocent Taemin who has a scar on his nose which is the victim. Another one, right before the chorus comes out, there was a phrase “Ruin me more” which is in Korean, the pronunciation can be also meant for “Run Away”. It’s like “Try running away if you think you can”. When Taemin was recording the song, they agreed it would be better if it sounded ambiguous, so the phrase was INTENTIONAL. That’s how they recorded it. The lyricist of “Criminal” said on an interview with MOMOE that in the process of fixing up the lyrics, Taemin led the opinion to make it a little more conceptual. So they narrowed down the theme to Stockholm Syndrome. If you listen to the bridge of the song, you can hear pieces of news reports in Korean and English. When they created the guide music, you could hear that part only faintly. Taemin requested that he wanted lines to make it sound like a movie so the team wrote out all those lines and worked on it like a script of a film. If we go back to the pre-chorus of the second verse: “My heart torn open with scars is already filled with your fingerprints Then again, my hand holding onto yours that stabbed me isn’t clean either” For that part, if the lyrics before were more like being dragged along even as you say no, from the pre-chorus of the second verse, it was more like becoming an accomplice in this criminal love. You perfectly assimilate into what’s going on. So, in a way, it’s both a confession of love and a confession of a crime. Plus, in the choreography, Taemin suggested that his hands should be tied up to convey the story more to the audiences. I MEAN, THE TALENT THIS MAN HAS. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

One of the 3 King's of K-pop he has such a Big impact in K-pop. Also he was trained by jonghyun his hyung in shinee, The greatest vocalist in K-pop ever, taemin has debut at 14 years old and now he is the legend we all know of. Also shinee are Well know as the trendsetter of K-pop and King's of live performance so you should check them out. yeah the songs you have seen from shinee he was still a teenager (in replay he was 14) but he & the rest of shinee do evolve through years and you see that in him and the rest of the groups. like for example if you see (view, tell me what to do, dream girl & married to the music) you will see how much they are grown, their vocals are insane in tell me what to do he also evolved and get better and better with time; his vocals get better and better with each new solo album he releases as more vocal songs I would say to hear (rise- clockwork-heaven-snow flower-already) are good examples. he has songs with red velvet wendy & seulgi too, the song with wendy is called be your enemy & the song with seulgi is called heart stop

But I hope you read this 😁 SHINee is a 5 member group with *contemporary concept* (Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, Taemin) and has always been respected in the industry for having the cleanest reputation (barely any controversies) , acknowledged as the best *MALE DANCE GROUP* (with intricate choreos and clean synchronization) . SHINee is also called the trendsetters in fashion and it was admitted by some huge designers that they got inspired a lot by SHINee. The fandom is called *SHAWOL* (SHINee's world) and it is one of the calmest and dedicated fandom (no dramas, barely any fan wars). there are several songs that made them huge in the K-pop world . The heartbreaking point for SHAWOL till this day is when Jonghyun, the main vocalist passed away due to depression. Jonghyun's suicide and death has caused a lot of K-pop fandoms to grief and it is extremely a huge lost to the K-pop industry since he has always been respected by the public for his cheerful and kind personality. He also has contributed a lot in songwriting for SHINee and the members, as well as writing and producing for his juniors and other singers. I would love to recommend SHINee songs for you to react : Older songs are : 1) *Replay/Noona You're pretty* - the debut song which is so different. It is a calmer rnb song compared to other male groups debut songs haha. This song is the book for other juniors in K-pop and a lot of them said this song is their inspiration) 2) *Ring Ding Dong* - the breakthrough song for them. Too catchy until it is not allowed to play at schools because students will end up not focus in exam 😂 3) *Juliette* - I personally recommend this because this is one of the first songs Jonghyun wrote 😔 3) *Everybody* - Invented the robotic dance, perioD. (SM was very obsessed with dubstep in this year, particularly around 2012-2013) Newer songs are : 1) *View* - this song is the starting point for EDM in Kpop. 2) *Good Evening* - a comeback song released after Jonghyun's death, and dedicated to him. A very contemporary song (I prefer to watch live or the dance practice TO GET MORE FEELS YOU KNOW) Now onto TAEMIN 1) He debuted with SHINee at the age of 14, which is very young compared to the other SHINee members, so he used to get bullied when he was in school . SHINee members would walk him to school to protect him. 2) His biggest influence is Michael Jackson and that kind of explains his vibe and his persona in dancing. He is even acknowledged by a lot of dancers as the K-pop MJ . I personally dislike to attach him with that image cause I feel like he has his own skills & vibes but I understand where they're coming from. 3) Taemin is the main dancer in SHINee and in his earlier debut days, he was also got bullied by netizens because his vocals are not as strong as other SHINee members and it made him barely sang. He got no solo parts in their debut song (but look at him now. Karma is a SHAWOL lmao) 4) Imagine from getting bullied,, then debuted as a main dancer and now successful af, serving as the main dancer and the lead vocalist. Taemin is now almost like a "religion" to KPOP. If people don't respect Taemin, then they're hypocrites. The look and feel for "Move" is very specific, it's supposed to be androgynous and gender neutral. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to dress Taemin up as a girl and play up his feminine features. (And if you ever saw Taemin dressed like a girl, you would see why. He really could pass as a girl, especially when he was younger.) Which ended up giving him a real complex about the fact that people never saw him as a masculine man. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career as a 24 year old (He is 27 now) he was trying to make a statement about how he has now come to terms with just being himself and not caring what people think. Dancing is art and movement has no gender. Taemin is one of the most popular solo artists, as well as the youngest member of the legendary Kpop group SHINee. He debuted as a solo artist in 2014 and "Move" is his title track on his 2nd Korean solo album which was released in 2017. Fun fact: The blue color you see throughout this MV is supposed to represent the cool, chill vibe of this song, but you also should know that pearl aqua blue/green is SHINee's fan color, so you will see aqua/blue/green shades with most everything to do with SHINee as a way to represent their connection as a group and their connection to their fans, etc. "Move" features all female dancers because the whole point of the song and dance is supposed to be about crossing gender boundaries and how just because you are male doesn't mean your dance has to be hyper masculine. Taemin uses what is traditionally considered more feminine dance moves to show how you can merge both feminine and masculine styles together to create something that can't be singled out as one gender or the other. This dance allowed a more mainstream audience to start to embrace less traditional gender roles within Kpop. "Move" is one of Taemin's most famous choreographies and it has become the dance he is most recognized for.This dance has inspired what is known as the "Move disease," and it is said that the dance is so catchy that you can't help but try to imitate it. There are literally hundreds of videos online of people attempting cover dances to this song. (It is on the level of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance and some of the most famous TiK Tok dance challenges.) But no matter how good of a dancer they are, it is quickly apparent that there is just something about the way Taemin moves that can't be duplicated. Taemin is Taemin and there is no one else like him. The dance is never as sharp or precise as the way Taemin does it. That is why he is hands down considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the industry. As Taemin has said numerous times in interviews and on variety shows, the key point in "Move's" choreography is literally supposed to be to stare into the camera like you are trying to seduce the person who is watching. So, you are right, that is exactly what Taemin is doing. The female dancer who is dancing with Taemin in the MV is a famous choreographer. She is the one that choreographed "Move". Her name is Sugawara Koharu and she is a Japanese choreographer who has choreographed dances for several Kpop groups, as well as American artists. She has worked with Taemin a lot over the years and she is the one that also choreographed Taemin's dance for his songs "Want," "Flame of Love" and "Sayonara Hitori" and helped choreograph Taemin and her performance on the competition program Hit the Stage -- "Devil" performance, etc., and she was one of 3 or 4 choreographers who helped choreograph "Criminal." Taemin and Sugawara are really good friends. She was also the choreographer for SHINee's song "Good Evening," among others. She loves working with Taemin because they are a lot alike, and that is one of the reasons why she has been featured in several of Taemin's projects. I've known Taemin since he debuted with 5HINee in 2008. He caught my eye first because of his dance and cuteness. However all 5HINee members are their own total package. They work hard and that shows especially through their live performances. Their vocals and harmonies are heavenly, their stage presence is commanding, their team work and professionalism are top notch, and they are well respected in the kpop industry. Taemin is a direct example of the success that passion and dedication brings. I am so proud of how far 5HINee and Taemin has come. Others have recommended some great Taemin vocals to react to. I would add Nemo and Clockwork to the mix, which are songs from his latest album Never Gonna Dance Again which received a lot of global recognition last year.

Never been this early to a Sir Austin vid, I’m so happy with your reactions lately- it’s mostly SM Ent. Artists! Taemin is my bias in SHINee and I literally watched him debut in 2008. It’s like growing up with him (from Taemin to TaeMAN) so I’m really proud of how far he’s come.

He is known as the MJ of kpop and yes he is inspired by MJ, but he has his created his on style, his T-pop. I'm proud of my baby

The way taemin live is something i don’t think you’re ready for manz is sensual asf 😭 but if you’re talking about just him singing a ballads or acoustic songs the passion!! Is something you will definitely hear in him he’s an amazing vocalist but even when he’s giving you those intimate eyes and dance moves he still sings his heart out, you’ll really start to see the Michael Jackson in him come out hahah but he’s just so 😍

interestingly enough, he is actually very involved with his music video’s concepts and his styling lol. he’s talked a lot about wanting to embrace both masculinity and femininity, hence why he has a more androgynous vibe a lot of the time. on top of that he’s also one of the best dancers in the industry and fantastic singer.... and one of my ult biases lol

Fast facts: 1) Even us straight guys are thirsty for Taemin. He's just one gorgeous human being. 8:26 - don't feel bad, he has this effect on *everyone* :) 2) His vocals are so good, he's worth listening to as a singer even if he had no dancing ability (we are blessed that he is blessed with both). 3) Momo, Mina, Chaeyoung, and Dahyun of Twice did an excellent cover of this that is worth watching. Not sure if this is 100% true, but my understanding is that while some kpop bb's work out to have an aesthetic, Taemin's exercise regime is about having a body that supports his dance. Glad you found him and are enjoying him, he truly is a gem.
