It's a bit surreal when I watch a more personal video like this from Pewds. I grew up with him, around 9 years old when I began watching, now I'll be turning 20 in less than 2 weeks. Pewds character development has been beautiful and as I develop into the man I want to become, it can be confusing, especially since my biological father left when I was around the age of 11. I really value seeing such a down-to-earth human give us glances of how he thinks. I strongly believe Felix is a good man. He's the kind of man I want to be. He embodies so many wonderful traits and virtues of true manhood in my eyes, none of the B.S. that self-proclaimed manhood gurus push onto today's vulnerable male youth. Love ya Pewds. I can't wait to continue watching your content throughout my personal journey in life.

I became somewhat similar to a minimalist since I moved to college bc I'm a very messy person so all my stuff takes up more space than it should, and I'm in a room smaller than the other rooms on top of there being 3 of us in the room instead of 2, so I have very little space in the first place, which forced me to downsize as much as possible. But even with that mentality I completely agree with pewds about watches, I can use my phone, but a watch is so nice and it doesn't loose its battery. Plus I'm so used to having a watch so it's kind of comforting to feel it on my wrist. My watch is a casio watch, they're great they make watches of almost the same quality as premium watches but they're so cheap. It cost me $10, I've had it for years and I've never noticed it get off by even a second, and it says it has a 10 year battery life, I haven't had it for 10 years yet but so far it's lasted for years without issues. It also is water resistant, in my experience essentially waterproof because I can shower, bathe, and swim with it, and it can handle depths up to some distance, I forgot how far but it's deeper than I can handle so essentially I can swim as deep as I want with it. And it also shows the day of the month as well as the time, so I can easily keep track of that, which is actually useful because it takes a few steps on my phone to see the date as opposed to my watch, just look at the number. I especially love that bc I have a terrible memory and never keep track of what day it is. I just wish that it had a bit more sophisticated of a way of telling the date so I didn't have to reset it every month that doesn't have 31 days, since the way it works is that it just has a cycle from 1 to 31, so on any months with fewer days I have to set it to the first manually, and I also wish it had the day of the week because I forget that too. But I got all the features I do have for a durable watch which will supposedly last 10 years, all for $10. That's just such a great deal I can't complain.

As someone that's also into Balisong flipping, I would say that the complexity and difficulty doesn't come down to skill. Rather, I like to see each trick as a puzzle to figure out. How do I move my fingers in certain directions, and at what time? Once I figure out that puzzle, then I can perform it better because I now have the answer. And stringing those tricks into combos with other tricks I solved how to do... It's so satisfying.

What Felix says at 3:18 is actually true, though it does sound privileged. It's why I personally don't necessarily link "success" with just money and am confused by rich people wanting EVEN MORE money. We're fetishizing the thought of acquiring something, not the thing itself; and once you've gotten it, the facade breaks, and you can see how fragile and useless most of it is.

Felix I recommend elastic “no tie” shoelaces. It’s one of my ultimate “can’t live without” items. They turn any pair of shoes into slip-on’s while keeping your shoes comfortably snug and they have a very clean, sleek, minimalist look because you don’t have long laces hanging down.

I've been getting insta ads for those. Really keen on buying them when I get around to it. I find putting on my converse so annoying bc you've always gotta untie them unlike my other sneakers.

Glad to see Pewds also appreciates quality watches. They sometimes do feel like glorified jewelry because of the existence of smartphones and smartwatches but the craftsmanship and being able to tell the time and date when you don't want to look at another screen makes it feel worth it to still carry one.

  • @lyrlwestrum3971

The "not looking at another screen" thing really resonates with me. If I look at my phone to check the time and see a ton of notifications, it makes me feel like I need to handle that right this second, when I'm already busy and just need to know the time.
