Man, that music does NOT work here :D
He's so young!
Just please remember to check the magnets polarity and keep it the same so you can interchange between other like models. If not you stuff will be repelled by the magnets. Just thought that it should be mentioned.

see i purposely make it so they repulse, when putting them on the bases and magnetising feet. because i want the bases to only fit that model for aesthetic reasons, so that wa i cant mix up the figure with the wrong base :) so that one is one way the other is the other way, means less miz up
“This Flamer” *IS CLEARLY A MELTA GUN*
I used 1mm x 2mm ones to magnitise all of my Tau Battlesuit weapon options. they work great for everything except for the metal missile pods that come with the Broadsides and the larger metal guns that come with the commander. All of the plastic options and the smaller metal commander options worked great even with such small magnets.
Ill mention a few more uses for magnets: 1.Beginning a new army?Use magnets to make it more easy to adapt to it(example:scatter laset and misile launcher.if youre new,you probably dont know which ones better,so...megnetize). 2.Transportation. 3.Good for terrain and converting(example:wanna make an ammo depot, but dont have enough supplies for both a weapon and purely ammo depot, then magnetize,or wanna convert a whilwind into a rhino, but still wanna have the whirlwind, then magnetize).
Thanks MWG, I'm currently using magnets for the first time in my Space Wolf and Eldar armies. Your video's have helped a lot! I would like to see how you use them in terrain.
I've used various magnet sizes, but by far the 1/16x1/32 have been the most versatile. They may not be powerful, but they're really useful for things like Knight Masks, small weapons and armor pieces. Currently using them for the crew and weapons aboard the Genestealer Cult Ridgerunner and Goliath.
once u use magnets, theres no going back
They should make a Magnet kit with the drill pieces and maybe a pinning set with it. Thumps up so they can see.
That's an interesting looking flamer there.
It was very useful. Thanks, Matthew!
WOW! I am just getting back into W40k after....er 20 years...this is soooooooo cool!
Great video, I was wondering what glue you use
Another bonus to magnetized body parts is you can move limbs to be more expressive. But the #1 benefit once the battle begins is sometimes miniatures are invasive, their weapon (like a spear) is sticking into the enemy and you can't have them in base to base contact. This is more true for non-40k but fantasy battle with base to base contact. Plus Shields are another thing people could use more. If you want your general to have a choice of shields, banners, quite a few other things!!!
Very nice video, great guide guys keep it up!!
great and really truly helpful vid
This is really helpful for me as a new player :D thanks if possible see if you can update it and/or advice on how to instal them
@shinraco I just use a hobby knife and wind it in to the size I want. If I did it wrong then I'll just use some green stuff too.
@KrahulikIsGod Magic, my friend, pure magic.
great job thanks
@folkrace4life theoretically, but some parts you're better off gluing if they're things you would never change. It's most useful for options since it allows you to be cheap by simply changing loadout rather then having to buy a whole new model (wish I'd know about this before building my first army), you can also magnetize bases to make it easier to store certain things (skimmers/jet bikes especially, since their bases are so high.
what megnets would be best for chaos defiler side weapons? (reaper autocannon, twin-linked heavy flamer, etc.)
Maybe this was covered in the video but is it necessary to buy magnets that are thicker? Surface area is most important for magnetic strength but obviously a bigger magnet over all will be stronger but could you just stack magnets instead of buying them in different thicknesses? Will that give you the same effect?
@ModelKlaani 1/8"
Exactly. I most likely will use magnets to try different Leman Russ variations until I find one I really like so Infantry magnets don't help me too much.
that's a melta

No, that's a AK47.. trust me, i make alot of 40k videos.
Do the 1/8th fit for the Warjack heads too? Or just the arm joints.
What size should I use for the weapons on the side of a Defiler's body? Reaper Autocannon etc. Also, how do you create the "socket" or indentation that the magnet sits in? Do you use a drill with the drill bit the same width as the magnet?
would the 1/8 magnets work for arms on gaurdsmen and marines, also would the be strong enough to hold (just hold it) the top part of the turret from the new leman russ on and the armour piece that goes on the gun itself?
what kind of drills did they use?
Could you use the 1/8 by 1/16 magnets for the space marine troops to switch out the weapons or should i just use the 1/16 by 1/32. Lastly which should i use for a dreadnought and terminators
Pin vice. It's basically a tiny drill bit on the end of a screwdriver handle.
This takes the points system to a whole new level lol
what type of magnets should i use for tyranid termagants, hormagants, and genestealers?
2:20 thats a funny looking flamer there, matt
that so crazy, conveint to when i want a melta instead of my plasma
@Solektras yeah but with ebay you wouldnt have the wargamming atmasphere and the awsome wargamming music and the guys who play.
ive been thinking about magnatizing some movement trays for warhammer, i have the magnets but im not sure what to use as the base (i already have the GW movement trays) any ideas?
What size of magnets would you recommend using on a Daemon Prince?
so for a Warhound titans what would you recommend for the guns?
Why is there a termagant coming out of a carnifex? I don't remember anything like that from the codex for carnifex. Or is it just for display?
hey mate, so want to start using magnets but live in australia, what company do you get your magnets from????
will 1/16 x 1/32 magnets work for magnetising space marines arms to the torso?
@TheWoldInMyHead That depens on how you want to play If you want a BIIIIG swarming but weak army = tyranids/orks If you want a small and powerful = chaos space marines/tau Or just take a easy easy and basic = space marine :D
@TheWoldInMyHead what matzii said was true but you could start with assault on black reach which is some space marines and some orks along with a rule book
@KrahulikIsGod magnets are atraced to each other based on if they have a possitive charge or a negative charge facing the oposing magnets charge of either of those proporties. Oposed charges are atracteed to each other in this manner in order to establish a neutral charge, the natural state that all mater in the universe tries to achive. If they have the same charge, they will repel each other as they will not interact as that would result in a farther movement away from a neutral charge.
I really want to start painting these things problem is I don't like the options given is there any of these like World of Warcraft figurines?
what size of magnets would be useful for dreadnoughts and tanks like the land raiders, razorbacks, and predators
how did you drill the holes!? it looks imposible!
I have an Eldar Dire avenger exarch, and i wanna magnetise his polearm, gun , and shield arm. What magnets is recomended for the dire avenger? cuz they haven't ultra beefy drillable shoulders like space marines :P
How dio they work?
What did u use to drill the holes in the minifigures? (i am scared ill break my minifigures)
@mrwhatshisname Oops! Watch that part again (I dare you...) 2:22

what size for metal tirms
what size for tirms?
What size for tau battlesuits?
the ones on the wayland games site are all in mm... well, i think i know when to get out the ruler
should i insert a magnet inside the body cavity of the Mini? or drill on the surface ?
@herpderp3426
8 жыл бұрын
depends on the orientation of the magnet when you place it in or if you want to place other magnets along the outside because it might screw with the polarity and instead of things snapping on, they might jettison off. drilling the surface would be the better bet. if you drill into a cavity, just stick a little bit of green stuff in there to set the magnet where you want it... 3 months later... lol
the 1/8" magnet do not work well on the Carifex. I did mine with them and the arms stay in the sockets but they will not sray poesed.
LOL Yeah, I was like. Melta gun. Not a flamer. It's okay man.
What size would be good for Vehicles in 40k?
I love you MWG but CC on this video is pretty funny
I only magnetize my more expensive models. Vehicles, knights, flyers. Im not about to waste the time on my hundreds of space marine and necron warriors. I have so many small models, i have no reason to waste my time. But for expensive models? Hell yes. Even though I end up with more of each than I can put in my army anyway, so I don't need to, but its nice to be able to customize.
Fourth! Ha!No Seriously. Thanks This Helped A Lot. The Amount Of Damadged Dreadnought I Get Through.
@TheWoldInMyHead its a coin toss theres lots of armies and you need to find one you like wether its looks playability or possible experience space mrines are a good starter army because theyre all pretty round in what happens mostly 4s lol then there the choice of shooty armies or rush armies space marines are both tau are shooty orks and tyranids are basicly rush but sometime shoot for some bang then necrons are shooty chaos in more about assault then shooting i think so just take a shot at it
Just for switching out weapon configurations.
Can i mag. the entire model ?
... thats the first time i saw the convosation between the space marines with captions
It's a melta gun! blargh!
Does anyone have any links to a tool like a dremel (I have no real knowledge in names) to drill a hole bigger than the gamesworkshop dremel, if that makes sense too anyone, cheers!
will this work with skitarii seems very fiddly.

Right wen I saw this I was like god this vid is old
he looks so much younger and thiner
one of warhammers mighty creators has smited a inocent man without any colour after showing his weapon lol
damn you mwg ... after knowing how to magnatise ( from the first carnifex video ) i magt nearly everything ..... even 40 termagaunts carry the nice and shiny metal joints. thx 4 the vid
The background music makes this a nightmare to watch!
the carnifex seize
well, K&J magnetics is cheaper and they also sell 1200 pound magnets :D or very very very teeney ones as well!
sum good uses tho ever thought of changing over to metric 1/16th of an inch long abreveation lol

Or maybe the time it took to understand your improper sentence structure to insult the Imperial measuring system. Which by the way was invented to avoid set "abbreviation". Yeah you misspelled that too.
cough cough melta cough cough
@mrwhatshisname well- it was an easy mistake for someone who does not play Marines. Happens.
@mrwhatshisname shhhh he plays bugs:P
you guys are in canada , lol use the metric system its way better for smaller and more accurate measurments lol ;) just saying thats all
$50 for a kit? Wow, they saw you coming...
@mrwhatshisname He plays Tyranids so he can't tell the difference. As a marine player, I can't tell the difference between adrenal glands and what not.
i needs magnets
@miniwargaming omigosh they responded! eeee!
OMG RED BLUE AND GREEN... which one to click ....
at 2:25 thats a melta gun..........
Melta Weapon, Yes, Person Who Plays other war gaming?, most likely, give this person some slack.
