@@reader1989 she decided to leave all of her memories of being 25 (the sad, good and bad part) to the past. she said she will not put it in the set-list but she will sing it if fans ask for it, out of the concert's main part. she said, she thought that this song should be left to iu at 25 and in the future she could meet a meaningful good song such as 25 in her 30s. its just for a better more diverse setlist in her concert, because most of her concerts have had a similar set-list so for a better concert with many other good songs, she decided to leave 'good day' and 'twenty-five'.

I have just turned 25. I was so scared of turning 25 because it feels like now I truly am not a child anymore. People around me start to get married, have proper job, but here I am still struggling to finish my bachelor, working part time, and no boyfriend. But this then when stop and look around, I realize life is not a competition. I will just go in my own pace, enjoying every single day, loving little things in life, count my blessings, and be thankful just to be alive. I really love the line where GD said "you are not a grown up, nor a child. you are just you." It hits me so hard and make me realize that everyone will age but you will always be you! if that makes sense lol. Anyway for whoever is reading this, I hope you enjoy your life and stay safe!

This song holds so much significance to me. I remember it was released while I was working full time for a job agency in a role I absolutely hated it. My weight had crept up slowly to 105KG, I was going through a difficulty break up, I was living back at home with my parents and I genuinely felt like I was getting nowhere in life. I remember one night, after a bad hookup, laying in bed and realising that I had to do something. I had to find my "happiness". This song helped me realised that not everything was lost, that I still had time to figure my life out and what I wanted. I quit that job, I travelled, I focused on my health, I sat my University entrance exam, I passed and I began my studies in a field I was passionate about. I'm now in my second year of University studying a Media Degree, preparing to study for a year abroad in Japan & I managed to lose the weight and return to a healthy weight of 68 KG. I can happily say, that finally at the age of 25, I like it and everything is fine.

All of IU's collaborations with rappers were amazing but I still think this one is the best of them all. From melody, arrangement, lyrics and the overall message that it's trying to convey just flows perfectly. I think GD's rapping style and sense of melody were important choices for this song as well.

same. I think it's so beautiful that GD is writing from the perspective of a 30 year-old and giving IU some advice even though he claims he hasn't completely figured everything out himself. In the end, he re-assures her that it's okay to be a bit lost and for it to be a continuous journey to discover yourself. It's rare to see that type of a response not just in K-Pop, but in music, period.

The words that GD writes for IU are so touching! It reveals their beautiful personality.

Ah, GD's lyrics are even more adorable in this translation. Earlier translations made it seem like he was talking about himself in saying that part about being scolded and nagged, but he's actually talking about her throughout. And "you are so beautiful, you are fully bloomed. You'll always be loved." I SHIP IT.

The years coloured her. Funnily enough, I'm as old as her, and I was a fan since the beginning, I got really into her music around the song 23, and ever since, it felt like if it was me who wrote the songs, they are that relatable. But yeah, I would describe myself right now as lilac or purple, they seem like bright colours, which reflect who I am as a person but not too bright or youthful, and it always gives off the vibe of a more mature person. I think most of her songs since 23 are more of self-reflections that I enjoy to the fullest.

Right it really inspires you to like who you are and what you like is ok. That phrase of GD thoug gat me thinking am on my 20 and am enjoying it buy oops! responsibilities came I got a job and yeap it didn't last my freedom partying having fun and all, I have school, work and all but am ok, I got it. it frustrate me sometimes but oh well is part of our youth aint it? I am a 26 year old Korean man who has listened IU's music since I was 18. 7 years have passed through my early twenties with her music. I always have been grateful for her great performance and music but not a huge fan of her. However, recently, I started to think that IU is one of the greatest artist in this era. Besides her physical talents as a singer such as vocal skills and voice, she has a great sense of sympathy. Same as the song "23", but deeply and more sensibly than it was, she points out the exact emotions of all the people who are in their 20s and drag them into her world. I am sure all the people who are in their age of 25 or older might have felt in the way of this song's lylics; anxiety of being older than last year, being a grown up, and feeling of uncomfortness that we are not yet fully ready for those changes. She tends to speak out her own emotions and stories into her songs, but those often make listeners tend to think as "Hey, that's what I am feeling right now, that's me!". I thought "23" was just a coincedence at that time, thinking as a "accidental" happening in IU's music career. I thought she simply wanted to stick it to the despair and exhaustion of melting into relationships with others, which I was wrong. She is such a genius in catching out the general mentality(usually it is negative) of the people in her age and comforting them. In her song, we are not brats, nor losers who cannot find what to do. By listening to her song, I feel somewhat confidence that I am not the only one who has a hard time, and get courage. What makes her the greatest artist above all these things is that she can blend those greatness into one decent style. She invites listeners to her world, shares her feelings with them, and gives them inspiration and courage, but her invitation(the music itself) is so catchy and easy to listen. Many artists have their own world and tend to describe it through their music, but not many of them are successful to draw listeners into their side. IU's trials never made me feel uncomfortable nor irritated. That's why I think she is such a great musician. I am already looking forward to see what she gonna make through her ages; I want to get older day by day with her music.

I don't even think outshining the other members would be the problem, because I think the way she shines solo is because she's expressing herself. I can't imagine her in a girlgroup because I don't think she'd be confortable with that. The company really did well in debuting her solo.

hair makes a huge difference, trust me. when i got my hair cut short, people were honest-to-god horrified. it was almost like i grew an extra head. hair is a really big deal to people, and comes as a drastic change :)

+Jade Wong other uaenas are disrespecting taeyeon because some other fans of hers are being disrespectful to iu. Like this comment of Zetty Yusof. She complimented IU and then somebody like Apri Surya will bring up Taeyeon. We, Uaenas, will really get annoyed because of this. And I don't know if other uaenas are doing it too in Taeyeon's MV. but the point is, we should stop this because this is the reason behind all the fan wars. this song just touch my heart the more I listen to it. being in the korea wave and spotlight since she's teenager, i can't imagine how hard that must be. being a teenager in general is already so tough, when we all keep judging each other. there's must be time when the hate IU receive probably get to her. trying to find your self without the spotlight was already tiring, i can't imagine what she gone through. but somehow hearing this song, how she know that there are 'we' who love her and 'we' who hate her and she's fine with it, how she's getting a handle on this, how she know herself a little bit more now and GD's advice for her on how she is loved and how she's beautiful... maybe I'm a little emotional because I'm in the middle of trying to find my self again too, but knowing she found her place and make her peace just make me feel good because it give me hope that I can get through this because somebody already did and I'm so happy for her to finally reach this place of content.

I’m not even really into pop music but I can’t deny anything that sounds good and she sounds amazing. Love her videos and overall creativity and range, truly an unmatched female vocalist 😍

When I was 25 I cried listening to this song because it was hard and I didn’t know what I was doing but I was doing it. Now I’m 30 and I relate to g-dragons lines. I’m an adult but I don’t want it 😂 not ready but already here. Everyone is just figuring it out. Many things change and are bitter sweet. Love that I’m growing old with IU 😊 and am very thankful. she is only half a year older so always have songs I relate to when I need it most.
