If you watch how she develops her childhood through being a singer, you'll see that when she was much younger she used to be very enthusiastic, happy and bubbly. As she aged she lost these characteristics and she mentions in a tv show that she doesn't want to express her feelings because she doesn't want anyone to know what she is truly feeling inside. You can tell that she was hurt a lot by the media and people throughout her years. So I can still to this day feel that her personality is a lot darker, calm and less bubbly than she used to be when she was young. I mean, I guess it's also to do with her being so skinny. She lost like 10kg (intentionally) and I hear that in general if people lose a lot of weight, their personalities tend become a lot less energetic and you know "depressed" like?

it's important to note that this song isn't reserved solely for 'haters', but also a lot of fans who believe they are entitled to the ins and outs of an idols life. Looking at the lyrics again, I know that this is meant to be a takedown of people gossiping about IU but I've always taken it differently. For me, this is a song that I relate to specifically as an autistic person. It's about keeping your own space, being bemused at people's social expectations at you, and just generally has this "I'm out here doing my own thing" sort of energy. Like, this is a song to drop work entirely and do a deep dive into the history of trains to.

@@carumeela theyre not exactly roasts but more callouts. she's speaking what most idols are thinking and want- for the ga and online kpop audience to respect boundaries and lines, and know when to stop. im sure these lyrics will feel like a sharp blow to anyone that does act in the way that IU is condoning however, which is probably why they may be regarded as roasts. she's directly addressing these people by quoting them and almost mocking their own words.

Thanks for your comments. Most of the information is in Wikipedia, and members of the fan club know all this and more. In fact, some of the members were probably there in the audience at her debut. But as I commented before, I have been impressed by how good her fans are as people. They know all this happened. So I think they try to do better.
