I watched Reply 1988 just recently and I heard Deok Sun and her friends cheering on this song. I didn't know this was a remake, but I used to play this version nonstop. It's just so refreshing and nostalgic at the same time. ❤️❤️❤️

I agree but just a little something: agencies experiment out of the mainstream too and most if not all Korean artists outside of kpop too. That’s why there really isn’t a mainstream style in Korea

I’m laughing until the end of the MV. The whole concept is great and funny. IU is really a versatile singer she can do any kind of songs.

Her songs has a power to create personal connection with almost everyone. Plus she put her whole self in each of her song, she can reenact the meaning of the song with her acting skill so audience may get better understanding of the song's message. She is a complete package as an artist

IU. Although I haven’t been with you as long as I could have, I don’t need to talk about how much you’ve changed my life. My introduction to you came from one song I happened to hear years ago, and only returned to every now and again. However, over the past few years, I took the time to actually pursue you and learn more about you. I still haven’t learned as much as I could have, but you’ve already opened my eyes to music so much. I know that a term that is used to describe your presence in music is “The Girl Next Door.” For a bit of time, I couldn’t quite understand this, and then I realized that the meaning of this isn’t in the literal term, but the feelings that are implied from it. I couldn’t quite understand why when I listened to your voice, I felt this closeness to you that I couldn’t define. Then I realized, it is because your voice represents all of the comforts and joys of one’s life. You encompass so much familiarity and nostalgia in a single note that you sing, and I’ve never heard anybody sing like this before. It is a combination of your voice that is as delicate as a lullaby, and the sincerity of the words that you sing. Anybody who hears your voice first the first time might be so overwhelmed by its individuality that they might not even be able to explain what’s happening to them at first. They could just be experiencing your voice for the first time, and it can instantly take them back to some of the happiest moments of their life. Only you can evoke these strong emotions in other people when you sing. this song is really nice and quirky, It looks happy but the song itself has a sad message. It looks like it's daytime but it's about a night story. Everything looks cheery but IU is not. Probably one of the most artsy retro mvs out there.

One of a kind, IU is the most refreshing K-pop artist for anyone, including me who used to not care about K-pop. She doesn't follow or copy anyone, she has inspirations sure but her brand and style is so iconic.

reminds me of my trip in korea in 2019. we went to everland in yongin and while we waited for our ride, this song kept playing for an hour.

Still, she could have made a remake of a different song, but she chose this one. So, maybe no creativity bonus for writing an original, but that doesn't mean she didn't take a risk bringing in back the 80s vibe. Especially with a lot of kpop going electro (they also sound good, but this just different).

Moka S You may check Wonder Girls reboot album.. The title track is I feel you which is composed by JYP. However my favourite is Rewind, Candle and Baby Don't play that is composed by their members itself. It honestly is better than JYP wrote track.
