What I learned as a young officer from a older officer is this; soldiers need to respect you if they want to fight and die for you. If they don't, you might as well go home because you have already lost the battle before it even starts.

An absolute collapse of respect for the military command and the orders they are being given. I keep hearing too often of mass amounts of troops who are literally abandoned by their commanders on the frontlines to die. A recent large group of mobilized conscripts got largely wiped out, estimated 440 out of 570 died, and the survivors said their commanders completely abandoned them as soon as they started to die in large numbers. Absolutely deplorable. Any commander who abandons their men to die needlessly like that deserves to swing.

In Roman history the idea was raised to cloth slaves in uniforms, so it was clear for everybody in the streets who was a slave and who was not. But than the Roman rulers realised that the slaves also might realise how many slaves there are. That they are a big group who, if the joined forces, were a group to recon with. So the plan to dress the slaves in uniforms was cancelled. This video reminded me of this story.

The general seems to had called them "dirty as pigs" before, while not giving them proper equipment, facilities to wash themselves and their clothes, outlets for anything in the encampment. The thing is, nothing is ready for this amount of troops. And I'm not trying to somehow whitewash all this war but the commanders should had seen this draft coming for several months, yet they didn't even bother to make simple accomodations for their troops. So they're basically trying to tell the draftees that they're expendable and not even worth humane treatment. It's all rotten.

Maybe it's a other way around? Do you ever question your own government? Or it's just easier to blame the other side, that's just easier to do. I'm following both sides, following journalists, especially independent from West. No one questioned why people at the Donbas was shelled for 8 years? Answer me why at the February 24th was so many foreign military in the Ukraine? Did you learned in school what happened in Cuba? Do you know that the NATO was formed as an answer to the Warsaw pact, Warsaw pact seized to exist '89 but NATO was expanding and expanding even though there was a deal not to expand. Do you know that the US have the law that no country in the North America cannot be part of any alliance except for the NATO? 2008 nato publicly said that the plan is to bring in Ukraine and Georgia? Did you know that 2014 legally elected president was illegally impeached with the help of the foreign agencies? Russia said you can join the EU, just give full autonomy to the DNR, LNR and don't join the NATO. This is classic proxy war. Find the list of the wars that US was involved after the WWII and do you know that people killed in those conflicts are higher than allied losses in the WWII? Soooo leave the propaganda at the side and try to know the real truth. Sure Putin is not good, but western leaders are way worse. And I'm not picking the sides here, my side is peace but for peace you need all sides to agree to. Don't forget that. Ukr is saying unreasonable things, they are asking for Russian to let go all the regions and then they will talk about the peace, that means - no talks. Did you know that Putin launched preemptive strike? 7 days was needed for Ukraine to attack DNR and LNR, the plan was to do ethnic cleansing and they stopped that, that's why there was so many troops during the beginning. Are you aware of everything that I said now? Just please be realistic and do proper research, please! We need normal voices on both sides if we want to see the peace talks. Peace is n1 priority! But military industrial complex is massively profiting from this, every army that sent old weapons will buy new, who's profiting? Turn on your brain please mate

From what we’ve been able to geolocate from pictures of Russian command positions they are all placed well outside missile range (so 35 clicks plus) from the front line. For example the disgraced General Lapin who was rumored to have pulled his gun on soldiers refusing to stop their retreat, had his command post for Kherson city located in the Olezhniy Sands nature reserve far away across the Dnieper river from the city and fighting.

At the end of WWI, when defeat seemed inevitable and the country was in tatters, the German navy revolted against a senseless, suicide attack against the allied blockade that started a chain reaction on the streets and tired armed forces that eventually led to Kaiser Wilhelm fleeing the country to Holland and the armistice. This looks vaguely similar. Hope it snowballs.

@watch my videos Yeah well, WW1 was just a stupid d*ck measurement contest between cousins and not a war "of the people". WW2 was different since many people were angry (and emotionally manipulated) due to the treaty of Versailles. Hitler and his men knew very well how important the emotional side of things was and used propaganda very effectively. Since the war in Ukraine is also a war which most of the Russian people don't emotionally support, I'd say they will face a mass mutiny and or revolution eventually.

As more it goes on as more it reminds me the Russian army in 1915-1916: demotivated soldiers, who don't know what they are fighting and dying for, unable to command officers, fightings between different fractions of so called elite groups. Let's don't forget to mention failes with military equipment, rampant corruption, inability to deliver Russian grain to world markets, weak military undustry, constant searchs of spies to explain defeats on the front. However, nobody knows where modern Lenin is. This is how Russia looked like before 1917.

The actions undertaken by Russian and ethnic minority (e.g. Tajik, Tatar, Chechen, Armenian etc) enlistedmen and their upper echelons is mind boggling, to have lost so many of their command and combat staff and dealing with domestic revolts amongst their civilian and military population, this is almost reminiscent of the August Coup. While not to the exact extreme it won’t take much to get to that tipping point. I’m concerned for the future of Russia and hope someone deals with the Regime internally before they turn to more drastic measures.

Even Donbas and Crimea voted to be free of Russian control, but they were happy to do business and maintain close INDEPENDENT relationships with Russia. In 1994 Russia signed a treaty to protect Ukraine borders if they gave up their USSR nukes and then did everything they could to keep Ukraine poor and dependent on Russia and it's corrupt system. This was inevitable because Russia has behaved like a drunk wife-beating ex-husband who finally snapped when his ex-wife got a new life.
