Yes I know exactly what your talking about, that guide thing came off my window as well I put it back on and yes it is a pain in the butt that whole window track mechanism. I've also had to replace the window regulator a couple times because it would end up bending and got worse. Probably because I started having a slight problem with my window like I could use my hand to push up from the inside a long with pressing the up button, so I didn't immediately take the door panel off to see what the problem was when I should have right off the bat. Thank goodness for more mustang videos I'm learning a lot about my car. I am the only mechanic for my 98 mustang 3.8l. I don't trust others working on my car. Thanks for this video. I'll be checking to see if the gorilla glue works or not. I have noticed that those 3 piece guides actually are attached to the window if you have to get a new window. I try to save money when I can by dim (do it myself) haha.

I’m just happy to see these videos are still helping people. You are 100% correct, that makes a lot of sense them coming with a new window already “on it” cause once it comes off, fagettaboutit 😂 it’s a nightmare. I’m glad this video maybe assisted if not helped’ the gorilla glue in my case did hold for the remainder of me owning it, I actually wound up trading that mustang for a 2010 Ford Fusion and sold the fusion. I actually treaded a basic platform AR15 for the Mustang that’s how I initially acquired it back when I lived out in TN. Best of luck to you with your window tho for sure 🙏🏻

Actually I am about to put the motor and transmission back in only lacking the clutch kit unfortunately my re-installation goal. I took care of both my parents my dad was most recent to pass, he had been a mechanic his whole life, so my goal was to replace my motor and transmission all by myself. The window regulator I guess I can work on while waiting on clutch kit lol. You have a great day and thanks again for the video. 👍

@@Anony115 yes I would try that, also I used a 2 part gorilla glue it was stronger then the avg gorilla glue did you use the same? Get back to me cause I have a few idea’s you can try if so and still fails. Thanks brother

John Gunter yes it’s very heard to get back into the guide and mounted on to the end of the window. Patience is key, they put that piece there so the window goes up evenly straight. Did you take out the speaker so you can be as close as possible to the track? Get some wood to hold the window closest to the speaker hole as possible, this way when you put the glue in that little mouth piece and get it back on the window and in the track it can sit and dry in a spot where it’s as easy as possible to access/work with.

I dont know if I can put this on here but,Im selling nice rims w 20's and straight pipe maybe if your interested.for u,cheap.

My issue with my window regulator is, it goes to for low and doesnt hit the bottom stop and snaps itself

jiamind did you take the little motor apart and check the magnets ? That could be the issue they start getting super weak before they go completely. I cleaned all the magnets and bam! It was strong again

@@TheHandsOnGang561 I got mine on today. Letting the glue seal for 24 hours. Now I noticed another issue I have. The teeth on the window lift slips away from the gear of the motor. Trying to figure out a fix without removing the whole regulator

Alonzo Harvey the big half U with teeth, it depends where is loose. Is it tight at the center with that weird pin shaped thing, if so then most likely the guide that lips right above those teeth at the motor is broken not keeping it close to the teeth on the motor. That wouldn’t be a hard fix either way, give me a idea of where it seems to be malfunctioning and I’m sure I can come up with something if you don’t first. 😉

@@TheHandsOnGang561 Yes, it's near the center. It goes down fine, but as it's almost back up it slips away. You can hear the gear hitting the back of it. Have to go back inside the door and push them together to get the window up.
