MUSTANG GT - Valve Actuator & Spring Installation [HOW TO]
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Congratulations, you’ve found the ONLY video on the internet that actually shows you how to replace/install the valve actuator for your active exhaust on the Mustang GT.
Trust me, I’ve scoured every corner of the internet trying to figure out which way the stupid spring goes on the actuator, I’ve battled this for MONTHS.
Take a deep breath, your search has finally ended. I’ll show you the CORRECT way the spring should be sitting in the actuator , the cheapest place to get a new actuator (don’t let ford RIP YOU OFF) and give you a better look than a quick flash and bad angle.
As always, stick around till the end and THANKS FOR WATCHING!

Hey man great video, it help me figure out what was wrong with my active exhaust. 1 thing I would add though is while making sure the spring is correct on the actuator, you have to make sure you line up the bottom portion of the spring with the valve assembly in the tip. Aside from that this was spot on! Thanks a lot!
Hell yeah! Finally. Your neighbors are going to appreciate that. Do a cold start video in quiet mode. It would be nice to gather decibel levels too with a decibel app. Nice! You're last video had me dying "I'm tired of just hearing all this RACKET that I'm making behind me" lmao!
Awesome man I’m assuming that fixed your issue and that you’ll keep your set up🙏🏽this is the set up i always wanted and now it’s good to finally see someone with it
Ayeeee he's back!
I just liked one of your videos from last year and saw how many views you had so I felt obligated to go to your latest video and say, keep it going man, you seem nice.

Thanks for the video Teflon my son is going through the same problem right now in UK, ford dealer wanted £720.00 that's just short of $1000 got one from Tasca $260 delivered. 👏

Thank you so much! Your video was very helpful. Strange that Corsa has such a great product but crappy support instructions.

I AGREE. Glad I could help
Does it hold in quite mode. Under throttle. . Like hard throttle/ and did it stop throwing codes ?
Where did u find the part I need both of them bro!!! It’s so hard for me to find them anywhere please lmk bro I’d really appreciate it!
Good deal. I'll be dealing with that soon. Lol
Would you happen to know the part number for the heat shield on the actuator? Some jackass deleted my active exhaust and the heat shields are MIA
How are you feeling about the headers and no cats now? Still happy or if you could do it again would you skip the headers?
@coderomes

I’d still skip the headers if I could do it again but it’s so much work to revert I’m not THAT unhappy about it
If you had an opportunity to do it again would you go Catted or Catless headers?
@coderomes

Probably catted
Please lmk where you ordered that valve actuator from I need both sides

You can it’s possible if you have the plug underneath the car if you don’t have It it bad news, i find some people online did it. Thats my next upgrade 100%
My active exhaust cuts out when I give it the beans. Ford replaced the wiring harness for the active exhaust, happened again. SO frustrating. Checking the fuse next and hoping it's not an actuator issue.

Hopefully not bro! But if it is, you can easily fix it, just buy it online and install yourself
Hey man sweet car!! I’m actually in the same area, and would love to maybe do a collab sometime! I’ve got an 18’ GT, just waiting on my longtubes to come in!

Dude I think I have this same problem. Had the exhaust installed and I think they out the springs in backwards if that's even a thing

It is bro! They have to sit a specific way
@skizilla

@@coderomes if you look at the Corsa Extreme install on AM you can see that the right and left one supposedly sit 180 degrees from each other (there's only two ways they can sit), I think it really don't matter as long as the valves open freely. I have them both sitting the opposite from how you have them sitting in my stock exhaust and it works fine. Borla's instructions shows them sitting one way, Corsa shows them sitting side specific and opposite of each other, your video shows them both sitting the opposite of how Borla says to install them, and you cant find dink from Ford on the issue.
I had the same issue. So i went to a fri3nd who just performed an unplug, start the mustang, replug while engine started and then restart the engine. It worked
If the spring was the wrong way on the old one did you try positioning the spring the correct way on the old actuator? It might not have been a fault in the actuator but I’m assuming you did check! Would’ve sucked to have wasted an extra 150

It was backwards because I had turned it around because it wasn’t working originally, then it still wasn’t working and I was just lazy and never swapped it back around
has the new actuator failed since install? I just replaced the muffler 3 months ago thinking it was the issue because the butterfly would move thinking that was the issue. I stretched the spring before reinstalling and it worked. Now the rattle is back. PASSENGER SIDE TOO. My actuator works fine I'm thinking it just the spring since you mentioned it was harder to compress on install.

It hasn’t failed! Everything has worked perfectly since the new actuator
I know this post is old , I have ‘18 GT with 26k miles on it with the same issue , that actuator should be covered under Ford warranty
Only thing that sucks about this video for me is that those der aren't stock exhaust tips. Can't just pull them off like that :(

Old post , but same for my ‘18 GT you either try to remove the actuator the hard way or drop the muffler to get to it
Wow that part is now $309
