Loved this video ❤️ definitely worth watching a few times.
Easily the best sounding exhaust for the coyote. I find it funny that a $995 factory option costs about the same if not less than an aftermarket setup, yet sounds way better than anything aftermarket available. And the fact you can turn to quiet mode and maintain a good rapport with the neighbors is icing on the cake. If/when I get a new Mustang, it's going to have this exhaust from the factory. I've heard the Ecoboost with this exhaust, and for a 4 cylinder car, it's actually not bad. Ford hit a homerun with this setup.

What does the sport / track exhaust is similar to an aftermarket exhaust? Like straight pipe?
@mcgurrentertainment
Жыл бұрын
Not exactly. The butterfly valve controls the output flow of the secondary side of the muffler. It provides a second path of air to exhaust, creating the unique sound and performance.
Does the exhaust flow push the butterfly open, or is that a calibration? Seems like peak decibels would be less if that didn't open all the way.

Is this exhaust a lot louder than a regular 5.0 with stock exhaust
@mcgurrentertainment

In Track Mode, yes
Does it have to be premium to be able to add the option, or can it be a base GT and still add the option for the active exhaust? (2018-23)
@mcgurrentertainment
17 күн бұрын
It does not have to be premium. The Mustang in the video is a Base (301a) model. However, for a Mustang to have this option, it needed to be a High Base Model (not 300a).
does the active exhaust change the car in any way, appearance wise?

No
I have a 2020 GT Premium. Is there a way to save only the exhaust to Sport Mode and leave the other things in Normal Mode? I've tried using the MyMode feature and even the driver seat memory button but all to no avail. Thoughts?
@mcgurrentertainment

Sadly, the Mustang defaults back to Normal mode once the vehicle is turned off. There is not a "Factory" way to save the Mustang into Sport Mode.

Definitely hear the difference between Track Mode and Quiet Mode.
Do the different exhaust sounds alone (all in the same mode) effect performance? (i.e. backpressure causing more or less hp) Great vid. I just got a 2022 GT with active exhaust.

Good question. Not 100% sure if it does, I haven't tested that idea yet.
Quick question just because to be fully clear. If your car is in normal mode and you put the exhaust mode to track then only the exhaust will be in track mode and the rest of the car stays in normal mode correct? My point is that if you put your car in track mode it will not automatically then put the whole car in track mode?

Put your exhaust in track mode*
@mcgurrentertainment
Жыл бұрын
That is an excellent question. I played with the exhaust modes and noticed the Track Mode still alerted me to See the Owners Manual when just changing the exhaust only. However, after playing around, the car seems to maintain the current driving mode. It seems the Instrument Panel is programmed to alert the driver anytime Track (of any kind) is selected.

@@mcgurrentertainment thanks for clarifying. I guess also if the traction control stays on in track exaust mode then it must only be the exhaust changing.

I have an '18 with the active exhaust. This is true. You can change both the mode of the car or just the exhaust. Changing just the exhaust will not change the mode of the car itself. I can have steering in sport, car in normal, and exhaust in track if I choose, which is how mine is set up usually.
I didnt think this feature was available until the 2018 model? And that dash looked like the previous model???
@mcgurrentertainment
Жыл бұрын
You are correct, It is available on the 2018+ models. This Mustang is a 2020 301A (Upgraded Base model), hints why the dash is part analogy.
How can you rev almost the redline, my 20gt can only rev 4-5k range in both park and neutral
@mcgurrentertainment
Жыл бұрын
Open your hood. Your grille shutters control air flow and help keep your engine cool. If the shutters are closed it will not allow the car to redline while in park. You can counteract this interlock by opening the hood.
@cameron.s.9368

I believe this is because automatic cars have a soft limiter. Manual cars don't and let you rev it out

@@mcgurrentertainmentWhen you say open the hood do you just mean pop the trunk? I just purchased a 2023 GT with active exhaust and was wondering how to make the revs louder while parked.
@mcgurrentertainment

No. The shutters are located under the hood.
I thought the 2018 had the different dash. Isn't this the 2015-2017 dash ?...i didn't think they had the exhaust settings?

Looks like this was taken from Roush but why make it so complicated? I have the active exhaust from Roush and two simple motor valves from badlands and one simple on off switch. Quiet or loud. Way better.

It seems Ford was putting a lot of thought and research in the emotional connection when it comes to the sound of the car. Similar to how some individuals get pumped when listening to specific songs. Just a thought.

Your car probably hates you red lining it like that. Won’t last long. That’s for sure. I just got mine 3 days ago and I’ve been taking it easy. Until I get 1000 miles on it. Only has 600 so far. Then I will get on it a little more but I sure won’t be redlining it like that… it’s not good for it
