Like the videos. Just moved from Chicagoland down to Cape Girardeau two years ago. Use to pan and sluice up there, now I'd like to get back into it again. Not going to ask for a precise location, but what region of the state are you in? Wondering if it's worth it for me in my area for even a nominal $100-$300 investment for gear.

I have never prospected before. At :08:00, you found a staircase. You looked at the bottom, and sure enough, there was gold there. It occurred to me that all the light pieces get sweep down, but couldn’t larger pieces be too heavy to sweep to the bottom, based on the flow that sent them there, and get lodged in one of the upper steps? I envisioned a ¼ once nugget, getting stuck at the first step. Is that logical? I thought, in a sluice, the larger pieces usually get lodged at the top and the dust at the bottom. What do you think?

Can’t wait man. I was “thinking” and yeah that has implications, but anyway, that small waterfall... chunky gold nearby... might be worth scraping some of the channel uphill. Also, that overhang might be worth getting a couple pans from under it. Hope you can drive to get closer, though the further you walk the less likely anyone else goes there...

Dude; Look at the video from 26:15 to 26:25 when you try to show the gold in the final cleanup close up.... you get too close to the lease, and it's out of focus. You do this all the time... it's a common mistake, especially with cell phone cameras which just do not have the depth of field that you can get with better cameras... Better to put the subject down & carry a 4" to 5" magnifying glass to shoot through... Otherwise, good video.
