We used to add milk to the empty jar of jam, shake it and it's flavored milk.

Good idea, never thought of that! My kids do that with syrup bottles. They always like it when at least a teaspoon full or so stays in the bottle 😀

Love your videos! One thing, would you consider rating your taste tests a bit differently? America’s Test Kitchen puts a sample tasting of each in a small bowl/plate and the taster can go back and forth to compare.

I have never seen an 8 oz clamshell of strawberries. My stores have 1 lb and 2 lb clamshells. The 1 lb is on sale this week for 2.50, last week on sale for 1.99. I don't think we will see 99 cent strawberries again.

You guys need to try freezer strawberry jam. The directions are in the package of SureJell. You don’t cook it so it tastes like fresh strawberries. Once I started making it we never went back to the cooked jam. My family won’t eat anything else. I make several batches every year.

I use to add left over jam and jelly to the top of sweet muffins before baking by the generous teaspoon volume or make a dimple in drop biscuits and plop some in. Its the same basic concept as thumbprint cookies. Mint and apple mint jelly zlwaus languished in the fridge. This works for canned cranberry relish and jelly too. I never worried kf all in a batch were the same or even if all in a batch had any at all.

I really enjoy watching your videos. I don't eat much jelly or jam, but when I do, I buy Polaner's seedless strawberry. It is sweetened with fruit juice concentrate and no sugar with 8 grams of sugars. Strawberries where I live in MA cost about $3.99/lb in the grocery store, and triple that at farmer's markets in season.

We have an Amish farmers market store where I live, and I always buy their jelly/ jams. They were out of strawberry jelly yesterday when I was doing my grocery shopping. I was so bummed. I ended up at Publix down the street, and getting the Smuckers strawberry jelly because it was the cheapest.

If I eat jam at all and it's store bought, I do love the Bonne Maman jams. They taste closest to homemade to me. I'll have to try making the Dining On A Dime recipe!

We grew up by putting a piece of bread in the bottom of the jar and eating the last of it thar spooning out of the jar. As for taste testing the different jars of strawberries; need to take in consideration how ripe are the strawberries, how much sugar did they use and how much pectin. Oh and did they add something else to it.

I would rate homemade strawberry jam over any store bought jam any day. My mom and other relatives made the best!! I was able to buy strawberries this week for $1.00 a container..not as good as Michigan ones in June though.😊

I love Strawberry jam. Espescially homemade. My only problem is, besides the price is, I have to watch my sugar intake. So it's low/no added/sugar free for me. The Great Value brand is my least favorite. My dog won't go anywhere near it. Smucker"s is one of the best store bought one I've found.

So many of those jams and jellies taste like nothing but sugar. No real fruit flavor. Looks to me like the super red ones have had red food coloring, added, the companies thinking that it makes them look more appealing or strawberry-ish.🍓❤
