On the other hand, that also provides the contra argument - that THE ONLY WAY to provide the necessary limitation of dictatorial power is by impeachment! That process is far more sensitive to random misuse brought on by the quirks of democracy - the relatively frequent (and healthy) change to the balance of Congress - where the detailed rules (aka Federal Laws) are made, after considered debate! The Constitution provides the fundamental guidelines, but it's Law that specifies the detailed rules! And it's Law that sets the actual boundaries (with Trials being used to measure incidents against those rules)! Democracy is really a pretty fragile state, that must be protected, quirks and all, from the dictatorial attacks by the likes of Trump! Fortunately, it does have the tools and practitioners (Law, the Constitution et al) to do so! I'm sure it will succeed - in spite of the present attacks!

Immunity has often been used to shield even police officers from criminal liability and if given the chance Trump would be more than willing to push that envelope to the limits. Thinking that even having this conversation is a good idea shows that you have no idea what you are dealing with.

The horror of a Trump presidency would have dire consequences for the whole world. Please vote blue America!!

I would venture to say that 95% of americans know very little about the constitution and very little about politics. Mr. Raskin is an amazing educator and he is going places. I love this guy.

You really don't need to know that much about the Constitution to know that the president is not a king and is not all-powerful. This is supposedly a democracy, which has no all-powerful leader. And a republic by definition doesn't have a monarch.

The Supreme Court should be listening to Jamie Raskin as he goes through the pertinent parts of your Constitution and points out all the claims that Trump makes are dead wrong, and as such, the Supreme Court should affirm the original decision that Trump has no absolute Presidential Immunity at all.

This SCOTUS take over by the Federalist Society has been a long planned strategy taking years, plus with some well placed McConnell maneuvering, to be in total control of every judicial decisions regarding those rulings favorable to far-right imposters claiming to be a guardian of democracy but instead are all laughing in our face while counting their evil gains at the cost of our freedoms and democracy. Agree with you. Rept. Raskin is eloquent, bright, and articulate; three qualities Trump's Congressional pals like Jordan, Greene, Cruz, and Gosar lack sorely. They're too busy trying to defend their pal Trump for each of Trump's 88 criminal indictments. No US citizen could be facing 88 criminal charges unless he or she had broken at least 1 or 2 of our laws.
