MUST HAVE UPGRADE! ARRMA TYPHON 3S Truggified with Pro-Line Trencher 2.8 Tires

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Okay if you haven't done this to your Typhon yet, you definitely should! These tires look absolutely amazing on this buggy now turned Truggy! Not only does it look cool it improves how it handles over more demanding terrain. Biggest improvement is how it handles in the air and can back flip with ease! See for yourself and give the upgrade a try! You won't be disappointed! 👍

I bought mine in 2018 as soon as I came out! One of my favorite RTR ever. Mine has the Hot Racing aluminum diff housing and motor mount and the 4S BLX ESC with a Max 10 motor and it's doing over 60 mph. I threw on DHK Maximus aluminum shocks and lowered it a bit. I love the stock wheels for on and off road and drifting but the 6s Typhon Kitar's are my favorite. Once they become slicks they are even better on Road! I've got a monster 3s Typhon as well with the BRCC wheels in it and Kaiju shocks but need to widen the stance a bit.

Thanks for the awesome video. The Typhon looks epic with these tires. After watching your video I did the same on mine but went with the 3.8" proline trenchers. So far I have not had any issues and it seems to be faster with the slightly taller tires. Honestly I think it's a better option than increasing the pinion size to gain some speed. 👍

I tried it with the 3.8's and wasn't happy. They have way too much mass for the 3s system. So far I like it with the 2.8's (after of course I got the correct 2.8's......I got the low profile ones by mistake). I seems to hold the ground with the added weight of these tires.

I took it to race at my local 1/8 buggy Truggy track to race in Truggy class and they said I was cheating with these tires because it out performed all the truggies. It had great traction on the hard clay and because it was so light compared to the truggies it was killing it.

I put these on both my 3s and 6s and they both just plain are hard to control beyond 75% power. Both wheelie when you punch it with the 3s pretty much unable to NOT wheelie (and flip over) if you're at 100%. The tires balloon like a banshee and can rub against the body when turned and the front end is up in the air. They also kill the batteries quite a bit quicker. Overall these are fun to play around with... but you'll not want to use them all of the time.

Body beef tip. Use drywall tape and shoe goo. It will allow your plastic bodies to last 10x more Also, it takes a lot more work than shown to change tires. Yes that is one way of going about it, but your average Joe that doesn’t get that deep into their cars won’t go that far. Really depends on what your end goal is for the car and where you are driving it. You could leave it completely stock and you wouldn’t hurt anything. The most you could do is gear down and watch your motor temps. If you drive it like you stole it every single time then yes your will break something, it’s inevitable. Adding stronger parts just leads to another weak point being broken.

I’m trying to figure out my next car and it’s either a Granite or a Typhon. Part of what I’m wondering is do the Badlands add a lot more clearance to the Typhon such that it’s close to the Granite? I really prefer the style of the Typhon, but want the ability to take this thing bashing at parks and in the grass.

So the badlands won’t add much more ground clearance over the Trenchers. They will both provide great off road traction and clearance. You can also adjust your ride height in your suspension.

My heavy suggestion: consider the aluminum inserts, instead of plastic. Also will need to gear down pinion to keep heat down. Also I'd suggest going with metal Spur gear, and metal differentials with the metal input gears. Keep in mind you are doubling the weight here. Also, if your wallet can swing it, consider a solid Savox servo! STOCK servo was not designed to handle this strain of weight.
