MUST DO Basketball Drills For Power Forwards and Centers | Post Players, Bigmen

Спорт

ballerbootcamp.com/sww -- Free Workout Here
In today's video I am bringing you a bunch of different basketball drills for power forwards and centers.
My hope is that you take these drills and actually apply them in your next workout.
Of course there are plenty of things you can do as a post player, but some of the most important ones are highlighted in today's video.
For example, bigmen need to consistently be working on their hook shots as this is one of the main ways that they score inside and although hook shots are normally a difficult shot as a post player you should be able to shoot a high percentage with this shot.
So I hope all the power forwards and centers out there like this video and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
#WeDedicated,
Augie Johnston

This is really helpful my coach doesn't care about post players. He only does guard drills with us which is the most annoying thing ever because tall people like me are bad at those drills. But then be just says were bad players, when really he's just a bad coach. I am going to change teams because I can't take it any more. Thanks for this video Ok a quick edit in 2021 I ended up giving up on basketball because of him about a year ago now and haven’t played since. And I am a teenage girl in Ireland, Basketball is not taking as seriously and our players are not usually as tall.

Soooo true my team has 4 tall players (including me) and the coach doesnt do post man drill and people think theyre bad but its the coach. I practice more than they do so im ok at it but i need to practice these on my own time since the coach doesnt teach it

Your coach's line of thinking is that bigs that handle/move like guards are difficult to defend or, in the long-term if you don't grow anymore, that you'll end up a guard without guard skills. Having said that, most of Augie's drills can be easily translated to big guard or post specific, and all you have to do is change the point of attack from the perimeter to the lane. This applies to most drills that coaches run.

basically your coach is seeing you as a guard. That is great. pratice what you're taught. Imagine yourself as a 7 foot guard.

Bren Neufeld Usually when you are in the post you are being heavily guarded so when you have your back facing your opponent lean back on them and feel where they are at to choose what move you should do.

Only 5'9" but I don't really know a lot of people that can defend the post at all, usually dust taller guys, faders are really essential and they don't take long to develop.
