The whole story about this girl is simply amazing. From giving her shoes to a homeless girl when she was 6, to realizing one of her dreams at 8 years old (singing at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony) to being personally called by Quincy Jones asking her to open the show in London for his 85th birthday party. Also, the youngest published author in Norway. The list of truly incredible things this girl has done and achieved is endless. At 5 years old, she would have walked on stage in front of 100,000 people with absolutely no fear. She knows how good she is, but absolutely humble. You saw her soft side, check out "I put a spell on you" at 9 yrs 2 mo. in black and white in the studio for her in her only "Beast mode" video. It's been said it was exhausting for her. You have a new subscriber but BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer. Simon was correct when he said that he had never heard that version, Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelina-fying" a song. The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette, her sister and then her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. Heidi Klum hit the Golden Buzzer. So Angelina went straight to the Final, where she performed Elton John's classic "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".¡ My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". Well, it was a seven-year-old child who appeared on the stage. She was small and had wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. My first surprise was how she confidently answered questions put to her by one of the judges. She showed no signs of nerves and when she was asked what song she was going to perform, she declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Then she gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and started singing. Yeah! The body of the 7-year-old child was still there, but the voice wasn't. It was that of a 40-50 year old black woman who had been singing for decades. That first moment of surprise has been experienced many times since then. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on KZread and in the years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others: in total over 220 different songs and 82 different performers. She takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. She never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. When you listen to her there is the feeling that you are the object of her attention. She is singing for you alone. I have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What I will never understand is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing. Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. Singing is totally easy and natural for her, a no effort thing. Any teacher pales to the teacher in her head.

Angelina has over 135 songs, both covers and originals. Now would be a great time to go back to early in her career at age 9. This is the most profound performance ever by a 9-year-old. If you were blown away here, you will be blown out of your house by this one. It is the black and white version of I Put A Spell on You. Do not miss this one.

13 year old Angelina created a genius arrangement for one of the most beloved songs on Earth then delivers a flawless performance on one of the world's biggest stages. Angelina is a true music prodigy but the only one who specializes in vocals. While most vocalists need to belt to showcase their talent, Angelina is at her best singing softly with ultimate control of her beautiful voice. As talented as Angelina is, she is an even better human being, humble and filled with empathy. Please take the time to read the biography I compiled for her. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 and 7 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on KZread recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.” At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZread went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. On June 27, 2018 Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. Angelina performed on America’s Got Talent The Champions which aired in January 2020. Guys, thanks for the reaction of Angelina Jordan's Bohemian Rhapsody. She performed 2 other songs in this show: Yellow brick road and Someone you loved. This is only a little part of Angelina's journey. From her performances on NGT at 7-8 years old (where she begins singing Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday and ends up singing Summertime) to her most recent originals Million Miles and 7th Heaven (studio versions) there is a long journey where she impresses with every performance, every arrangement she makes, singing her own songs like What is life , Oslo or Shield, or covers of songs by Adele, Rihanna, Elvis Presley, Sam Smith, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, and so on. She brings fresh air and authenticity to music, not forgetting her vital commitment and compassion to make this world better. Listen to her cover of Heal the world that she released recently. It seems that Simon made her several offers to hire her after this performance but she rejected them all. Angelina and her family know where they want to go with her art. Last year she signed with Republic Record and she is working on her first album with them. They seem to give her the freedom to create something very personal. It's amazing to think that she, at just 13, was able to take a challenge with a song like this and turn it into a song of HER, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation and great courage, accompanied only by the discreet sound of a single guitar, with that very brave and fantastic start acapella. Here, on America's Got Talent - The Champions (all contestants had performed in ...Got Talent shows around the world, but only Angelina had actually won), Angelina, who is well known all around the world, but no so much in America, added a few extra frills to show the audience of what she was capable. Angie, who always chooses the songs she will sing, also rearranges each song to suit her amazing musicality. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (125+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. Looks like you received a few comments. Just a note. She started hearing Jazz while still in the womb. There is video of her singing at eighteen months of age. She did tell her mother she wanted to sing for Simon Cowell at age three. She told her Mother at five she wanted to sing at the Noble Peace Prize Concert. She tried at five to audition for Norway’s Got Talent but is told she is too young. At six she stated she wanted to be a superstar and sing for the world. She has accomplished these goals and more.

Angelina was not kidding when she said she waited for 10 years to sing for Simon. She actually started singing at age one and a half in the crib, a Whitney Houston song! She will do runs and riffs currently and a little bit of raspiness, but never overdone. It reflects her training and her roots in jazz and soul.

She is a Norwegian prodigy who has been listening to, studying, learning, and singing jazz since the age of three! If you don't believe she had been preparing to sing for Simon for 10 years by the age of 13, go back and watch some of her earlier stuff; her four Norway's Got Talent performances (at ages 7 & 8), or "I Put a Spell on You" (at age 9) would be good places to start. I promise you'll quickly become believers!

Angelina turned 15 in January. She has been signed by Republic Records and she now lives in LA. If you like Angelina's singing there are probably more than 150 videos of her to explore, from 6 to age 15. including one video at 1 1/2 where she is singing Whitney Houston. ENJOY! I leave the reason for her always singing barefoot for someone else to explain. I don't want to hog all the Angelina history!

Totally agree, what an odd dream for a 3 year old to have 🤷‍♀️ But what a stunning voice, I was really impressed!

Well she's been singing since 18 month old and there is a video of her singing a couple of phrases from Whitney and you hear she had it then. Just a beautiful singer now and through out

The finest singer in the history of mankind. There are singers that are equally good on the technical level, but nobody can match AJ when it comes to emotions.

Another great reaction. Angelina Jordan was a star at age 7, and she just keeps getting better and better. You can pick any of her songs out of a hat, and she will blow you away. I suggest "Yellow Brick Road" and "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Cry Me a River" for the contrasting styles. But she excels at everything she sings.

You have a choice of 135 videos to choose from from Angelina. They're all good, just pick one...... :)

and it got quiet real quick. lol. I truly enjoy the back and forth bantering between you two. appreciated your reaction. can't wait for your next reaction to our Angelina. I know what everyone here will recommend so all I say is yes that's the one. haha.

I am absolutely amazed… That you have never heard of Angelina Jordan till now? But good On ya… You have now been introduced, to the barefoot princess, our angel in the music world, the child prodigy that is destined to become a superstar! And if you are like any of her multi millions of followers, you will follow her down this rabbit hole. You have got to listen to anyone of her Adele covers! And then react! She does all those covers, in many peoples humble opinion: better than the original artist! Like: all I ask, 1 million years, among others. And oh my gosh-Elvis Presley‘s you were always on my mind! Simply fantastic.

Take the plunge and enjoy the ride. But, be prepared for chill, tears, and emotions spilling over as you have never seen before. 135 songs and covered 82 artists that have flavored and seasoned her skill and style. A superstar for sure.

Congrats! You stumbled upon the greatest female jazz singer of our time! I suggest that you continue with her early appearances on the "Norway's Got Talent" show. Maybe you want to see her in "beast mode" at age 9 when performing Screaming Jay Hawking's "I put a spell on you" (make sure to watch the Black&white version. Or you jump right to her latest videos of "All I Ask" (Adele cover) or "Heal The World" (Michael Jackson cover).

Her newest cover song is Adele's "All I Ask", which in my opinion, she now owns. Her newest original is "7th Heaven" (the Studio Performance video) but seriously, just about any of the 140 or so other videos she has on KZread will amaze you. Great reaction you two, I'm subscribing just to see if you do more Angelina.

Most reactors to Angelina report a noticeable jump in subscriptions and comments. Her gift captivates all she touches-simple as that!.

It was worth waiting ten years, AJ has commented since that performance that it did change her life, Stargate signed her, and Republic Records also signed her at age 14. She is in the process of having the world recognize her as a SUPERSTAR.

Maybe it would make sense to start chronologically. Her first Big Hit (that I heared so far) was „I put a spell on you“. Correct me if I‘m wrong.

I like when Sean gets blown away by a note or particular run, as he throws his hands up in surrender, and then explains in detail his take on said note or run. I also enjoy Andrea's reactions, as a run from Angelina or a high note from Dimash leaves her with open eyes and a wide smile of amazement that you'd find on the face of a seven year old upon their first entrance into Disneyland. 😉

Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina speaks 3 languages, designs her own clothes, and has written a best-selling book, and like her name she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. Angelina won Norway's got talent when she was 7 years old Her younger years before age 13 she was watched over by her mother (Sara) and her Uncle who just wanted her to grow up normal. Her mother and uncle Turned down almost 90% of all requests for her to perform but even so from age 7years to 12 years old or so, she has been all over the world (Mother never more than a breath away) Angelina has produced over 130 covers, and she makes all of them her own, all of which will astound you. New people to Angelina get sucked down this road of experience not believing what they're hearing her excellent vocals and unique way of singing, Angelina is a master at music structure her ability to show absolute recognition to a cover while she makes it her own. Angelina writes her own music and produces it. Angelina's mother is Norwegian, her father is from Sweeden The grandmother on her mother's side is from Iran and her grandfather (recently deceased) from Japan both grandparents are very involved with Angelina's growing up, Angelina's song a million miles is about losing her grandfather. Shortly after her performance on Americas got talent show she was signed by Republic Music and has produced Million Miles (song for her recently deceased grandfather), Seventh Heaven, Heal The World it's her start at the world market and I'm sure she'll dominate.

The outfit she is wearing she made. The pattern was from her grandmothers art. She is the youngest published author in Norway's history. The story behind book touches your heart. She speaks 4 languages and play piano, guitar, flute and violin. She has done charity concerts raising millions of dollars for charities. She has just recently signed with Republic Records as their #1 priority singer and retains all control of her own music. I could go on there are many other accomplishments she has had in her young life. It is amazing.

There are so, so many cover songs by Angelina out there, and she puts her own spin on them - she Angelinasizes them. Try her new one she put out a month or so ago. her cover of "All I Ask" by Adele. She is 15 now, and you can here the growth in her voice and talent in just 2 years. Thanks for the reaction!

You were impressed with her here, at 13. Imagine being just as impressed with her at 10 or 8 (for example). Well, if you continue to react to her, you won't have to imagine for very long… [grin] Even though I can't say which performances of hers you will find the most impressive, I can pretty confidently predict that you *will* be repeatedly impressed by her even more than you were here.
