WOW, girls! I really loved your honest reaction to Angelina 💕 From a girl to another, cheers! Long live champagne, lol. She wasn't really auditioning. She was invited to participate because this is America's Got Talent - THE CHAMPIONS. That is, only winners or runner-ups from other country's Got Talent editions can compete ;) And you went totally blind without knowing anything about her? Really, you have to get prepared to listen to Angelina, she hits you in the gut, your heart each and every time she opens her mouth 😉 She was born in Norway, she is currently barely 15 (January 10th) and was 13 at the time of this performance. Her outfit was made from a pattern taken from her grandmother's paintings (Iranian artist Mery Zamani). She always performs barefoot because she met a girl in the Middle East when she was 6 years old who was barefoot. Angelina gave the girl her shoes and promised to never perform with shoes until poor children around the world were taken care of. She later wrote a book about the whole experience. Angelina Jordan Astar is from Norway. She recently turned 15 and lives in Los Angeles. She signed with Republic Records this past year and is working on her first album with Republic. She over does it with embellishments on top of the exaggerated vibrato and other than that she adorable.

One person listed a 132 song listing of what she's done from age 6 to the present. Her multi genre ability is beyond what any other singer has ever done. She always appears on stage in bare feet. The reason being that after meeting a poor girl in the streets of a war torn town in the mid-east when she was 6, found her giving the girl her own shoes and vowing to never wear shoes when performing to bring attention to all those poor souls who can't even afford a simple pair of shoes. When she won Norway's Got Talent at 8, she donated the winnings to charity and has done numerous charity concerts throughout the world. The artwork on her dress comes from her 'artist' grandmother Mery Zamani who also was a child prodigy like Angelina.

She has been singing like a seasoned professional since she was 7 years old, and has literally dozens and dozens of masterpiece level performances for you to see. The people that "get" Angelina usually get her within seconds, and I can tell that is the case here. As impressive as this was... just wait until you hear more. She gets better with every new side you see to her incredible versatility. And as always for anyone new to Angelina, here is a little bio so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul....... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 15 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written four of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", and "Million Miles" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. Update: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". Angelina turned 15 years old 10 January 2021, and published a book in Norway when she was 9 years old, making her Norway's youngest published author, "Between two Hearts"; explaining why she sing barefooted at every public performance. At age 13, Angelina creates a genius arrangement for one of the most beloved songs on Earth then delivers a flawless performance on one of the world's biggest stages. Please take the time to read the comments from all of the angels along with the biography I compiled for my all time favorite vocalist. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farci, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old. Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on KZread recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.” At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 56% of the votes from the nine finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZread went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.

Andy Schnell - I’ve been following AJ for about two and a half years and like everyone else, I was mesmerized from the start. My knowledge of AJ was a bit piecemeal. I didn’t have a plan... it was just a slow but amazingly enjoyable journey. Like peeling an onion, my knowledge of her grew over time, all while listening to her beautiful voice. Only recently did I start reading the comments section to expand on, and confirm what I’ve learned of Angelina. My respect and admiration for her still continues to grow. Clearly you can see she has a following. Love you ladies. AJ has jazz roots as l am sure you will discover. Although you see her at 13, she has been an artist/professional singer since age 8. So she has been at it for some years. Some music she produces is her experimenting with styles and genres. Some is heartfelt and almost always changed to her style. Angelina is a 'one in a million' songstress that should be listened to at every opportunity. Her jazz classics are the best around today. She began her professional career at seven years old, winning Norway's Got Talent at eight and has sung all over the world since then. She has more than a hundred cover songs recorded on KZread as well as a number of originals and has recently released a song "Million Miles" from her American record company, Republic Records. She is great and I hope you start reacting to many of her works... thanks!

This is the most entertaining reaction I’ve ever viewed. The two of you are hilarious, adorable (in a sweet way) and authentic. Looking forward to more mom and daughter reactions.

She's a genius. She reinvented (arranged) that iconic song. Many of her other covers are equally amazing. Take a look at her version of Rihanna's Stay, or Adele's When Were Young, or Lana del Rey's Born to Die. Her 9 year old version of I Put a Spell on You is justly legendary. Or her new original single Million Miles.

I had to come back and watch this one again. The mother's reaction is so organic and lovely I could watch it a million times. She comes across as intentionally flip and casual but a switch is flipped and she five in the deep end. Love her. Love Angelina.

To Mother, I'm sure Angelina would fit in your Jazz club very well, she has covered "I put a Spell on You", "Feeling Good", "Summertime" "Fly me to the Moon", "I'd rather go Blind", and "Gloomy Sunday" and probably others.Get out the case of Bubbly and Enjoy.

A talent like Angelina only happens (maybe) twice in a lifetime!

Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not, I find it very intriguing that Lou Rawls, the American Jazz & blues singer legend, passed away the same day Angelina is born 😊 Loved your reactions & commentary, & I hope you continue to discover more of her amazing voice, you won't be disappointed!

Morning Ladies , yeah she is a wonder of the world you must see her performance when she was a small child 7 years old singing Billie Holidays Gloomy Sunday from Norways Got Talent, i recommend watching all her performance from this time , there are 4 ; Gloomy Sunday, I'm a fool to want you, Summertime, Bang Bang. Simply marvelous NOT really extraordinary talent, unbelievable. I'm not sure of your music interest but if you listen to originals to these songs you will see this child is very special as you will see how she has affected many viewers. well welcome to Angelina's World of her fans will be watching you react.
