LOVEBITES are different. They are women. They wear white dresses. The lyrics are more from women's point of view, some are uplifting. The musicianship is outstanding. The vocalist is a great frontwoman who knows how to enthrall the audience. Just a few good reasons that made LOVEBITES my favorite band.

Best band in metal, imho. Talent through the roof all around and no other lead duo compares to Midori and Miyako in today's metal genre, whoever the runner ups are...are not even close. Have been listening to them 24/7 for the last 6mos and it never gets old! This is a rabbit hole worth exploring that's for sure!! And the one (Miyako) playing the Dean was 4mos pregnant during this show; she's a beast!! 🐺

Well, you’ve just witnessed greatness. These women are extremely talented, skillful, versatile and proficient musicians. They really shine in their live performances. You’ve just scratched the tip of the iceberg. Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Asami was a R&B, soul, jazz singer before she joined Lovebites, and Miyako is a concert level pianist.

This was a really cool reaction! I like your first emotions! Welcome to the world of Lovebites' music. They are definitely goddesses of metal. For me this band is the best band for almost a year. Their music always impresed. They always (almost always) wear white clothes and look like ancient Greek goddesses. They always play amazing solos. You should check out more their songs. I suggest you the song "Holy war" - I think, this is the most popular their song and it is really awesome. And you can check out something different - more melodic song "Swan song with Shopin intro". You will be impressed. Thank you for your reaction. Welcome to the Wolfpack :) Waiting for more reactions to Lovebites. Lovebites have 45 songs in their catalog (plus a 2 minute instrumental) and have been around since 2016. The band was formed by Miho, the bassist and a true metalhead. Unfortunately she left the band a year ago and the band have been auditioning for a new bassist, with an announcement hopefully very soon. I also hope they announce the new bassist with a new song and music video. Almost half the songs were written by Miyako, the guitarist on stage left, including Set The World On Fire. On top of being a world-class composer and guitarist, she is also a world-class classical pianist. It has probably been mentioned, but during this concert Miyako was about 4 months pregnant. My suggestions for the next songs would be a Miyako masterpiece called Swan Song with her Chopin intro and the only song cowritten by Miho and Miyako called Break The Wall. Swan Song - kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXac1tOgmburcZc.html Break The Wall - kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z4SXkrqEYM-0nbg.html Enjoy!

Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians, such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list). LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass, backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in both Donington (UK) and Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts. LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good! 🐺Miho - bass, backing vocals (in August 2021 she left the band). 🐺Haruna - drums. 🐺Midori - guitars, backing vocals. 🐺Miyako (Mi-Ya)- guitars, piano, keyboards, backing vocals. 🐺Asami - lead vocals, piano. 🐺Miho started playing bass in high school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES. 🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan. 🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar. Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA. 🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music. * In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊 🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs. All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in our country. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

@@StrateleStudios Japanese metal is awesome right now. I recommend Nemophila 'Dissension' or Hanabie 'We Love Sweets'. Both bands had debut full length albums in 2021. Nemophila is more standard metal while Hanabie is more creative and unorthodox. Hanabie is a highschool band gone pro. Only the drummer is new. Nemophila is women from a bunch of different bands who were assembled. Their drummer was a star on KZread doing drum covers for a Japanese audience. She has 220k subscribers on her personal KZread channel I assume mostly before she was in Nemophila. It's all in Japanese but I recognized her from the Nemophila covers that they made for KZread during Covid. They have a bunch of covers on their official channel which are all great. There is a playlist of cover songs. The singer doesn't know English and sings the English songs phonetically. But you'd never know.

You jumped in the deep end! Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXyiral-mpSpfcY.html, from the same concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzread.info/dash/bejne/paBkj7dmqc6wc7g.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzread.info/dash/bejne/noycwdeGfZyamrg.html; “Holy War”: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lJt12tJ-oKjJntI.html Miyako is also a professional-level concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXac1tOgmburcZc.html. For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzread.info/dash/bejne/eWRmk8OJYsTVZrw.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y62i0Lp9lqjUnrw.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKah0c6nZarepdY.html This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" kzread.info/dash/bejne/moB6x86CaZa8m7A.html "Glory to the World" kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6t-1qZriKi-eJc.html "Winds of Transylvania" kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqd5lrebj7PQmJs.html. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

It’s no exaggeration to say that there is no other band on planet earth playing to this standard, and who have all the other attributes Lovebites have (song writing, positive lyrics, impeccable arrangements, unbelievably precise technique, world class vocals, ridiculously fast but incredibly inventive drumming, especially her use of chimes and cymbals.) To this already impressive list add the fact that the tallest member of the band is only 5’5”, the guitarist with the blonde streaks has been well placed in bikini body building shows, the vocalist actually performs ballet in one track at this gig and the guitarist with the Dean was a few months pregnant when she appeared here and, for good measure, is a fully trained concert pianist who taught herself guitar from a book aged 18 (14 years ago). Their personalities are unassuming and friendly, they smile through 90% of their shows and yes, they’re all beautiful… Their fans have adopted the name “the Wolfpack” after the band’s symbolic use of wolves in album artwork and we’re ferociously loyal and vociferous in our support on reaction channels because the girls deserve to be household names yet are barely noticed outside Japan, and trail behind bigger names like band Maid and BabyMetal. I guarantee two things, if you like this song then you’ll like the entire catalogue. I’m 62 and I’ve never in my life encountered a band who didn’t have at least one album filler per album. In 4 EP’s and 3 albums they have none. Not one. That’s not bias, though it is opinion but ask anyone familiar with the band and they’ll say the same. The other promise is that every performance you see of this band is to this standard. Lovebites have no flaws and no equals. And may I say I love it when someone far more knowledgeable about music than me confirms everything I think when they encounter the band for the first time.

Great reaction video dude. I've been a fan of Heavy Metal (a Metal-er) since the mid-80's when I was in Junior High after the first two Metal songs I ever heard, which were Haunting The Chapel by Slayer and Ride The Lightning by Metallica. And it's kind of funny how I first heard Lovebites. One day a couple months ago either this video or the video for their Live performance of Holy War from 2020 (I can't remember which of those two videos it was) was the very first submission in the list of recommended videos. I've been a fan ever since. And that ties in to me having been a Metal-er since the mid-80's. By that I mean I love how Lovebites gives homage to the bands from back in the 80's to mid-90's such as Slayer and Metallica and Iron Maiden and Megadeth and Armored Saint and Metal Church and occasionally even a hint of Bolt Thrower (as well as many other bands), and while giving respect to their influences also puts their own unique style of playing into the mix and makes their own unique style of Heavy Metal. One thing I can't understand is how some people refer to Lovebites as "power metal", and that's simply because as a TRUE Metal-er I know that ORIGINALLY there were only 6 TRUE subcategories of Heavy Metal: 1 - Heavy Metal; 2 - Punk Metal; 3 - Speed Metal; 4 - Thrash Metal; 5 - Death Metal; 6 - Black Metal. With that being said, I personally believe that Lovebites falls into three of those subcategories of Metal, which are Heavy and Speed and Thrash. I also love how Miyako and Midori use their contrasting styles of playing on guitar to push each other to even greater heights. To me hearing those two play is somewhat reminiscent of what it might have sounded like if Kerry King from Slayer and Kirk Hammett from Metallica had ever played on stage together back in their early days. And to me Haruna's drum style seems slightly reminiscent of Paul Bostaph and even occasionally a bit of Dave Lombardo (and actually the song Soldier Stands Solitarily from their new album Haruna's style of playing leaves Paul Bostaph out the mix, and to me sounds more like a slight combination of Dave Lombardo and Tim "The Missile" Yeung), but with her own unique style of playing. One of the reasons Haruna is sometimes referred to as 'the Pocket Nuke', because she absolutely kills it on drums. Most of the so-called 'Metal' bands that have come around in the past couple decades are basically pretending to be Metal, but then occasionally you get a band like Lovebites who are TRUE Heavy Metal. My opinion is that Lovebites not only sets the bar for what Heavy Metal should sound like, but Lovebites ARE the bar for what TRUE Heavy Metal should sound like. And seeing as how Lovebites debuted in 2016 and then played at Wacken in 2018, my opinion is that it won't be long before Lovebites not only tours the Western Hemisphere (especially here in the US) but also plays Wacken again, and most likely on the Main Stage next time. They definitely are that good. Just my own personal opinion anyway. But regardless, again great reaction video dude. Oh and by the way, you have a new subscriber.

The #1 Band is Band Maid, who will be touring the US in October, 13 cities mostly sold-out. Nemophila fairly new, played the Whiskey A Go Go 1 July, sellout. So some suggestions; Band Maid - "Freedom" live, "No God" live full up or Acoustic Nemophila - "Monsters", "A Ray of Light" And just for fun - Hanabie - "We Love Sweets" some college girls.

Thank you so much for David Bowie's Hidden Gems. I watched 5 of them. I Remembered the Survive and Always Chrashing in The Same Car. Was it not Iggy Pop as Jasmin sitting next to Bowie? You did not analyze 'Thursdays Child'. It is heart breaking song where you can feel Bowie's pain, anxiety and feeling of being lost. Bowie had such a big heart. He rescued Mott The Hoople from breaking up the band by writing a song All the Young Dodes. I wish you would also do ROXY MUSIC and their 1970's albums with great Brian Eno. Bryan Ferry means a lot to me but not his solo career at all. Somehow I think you are stationed in London UK not US. Am I right...?
