Yes, we can find Su, no matter how many people are there. She always gives her all in her performance. The short girl who has been crying since the beginning is Moa, and the girl who finally broke down crying at the end is Yui.

Su was 15, the whole concert was for her graduation so it naturally focused on her, she was also class leader. Moa and Yui blubbed right through the whole song so they did not get much camera time lol and that was Yui you thought looked like her.

It was a wonderful reaction. As everyone has said, the members of Sakura Gakuin are all very talented children, some of whom are now solo singers, some of whom are now voice actors in animation, and some of whom are now leading actresses in movies and other productions. The first child to take the microphone was Marina Horiuchi, who is now a singer-songwriter. Nene, who was hugging Su, retired after graduation and now chooses to work as a nurse. Her retirement was greatly missed by the teachers and staff. All of them are good kids and I can't talk about them enough here.

Nene's special message to Suzuka gets me every time.

Marina and Nene-don are my top Sakura Super Ladies. Nene managed to both drop an emotional bomb, and make some of the girls laugh when she screamed and jumped when the confetti cannons went off. Good stuff!

Su rarely cries on stage, if ever. However it was said that because she broke down last year she made a promise not to do it again. She did cry offstage at the end, so I heard somewhere

The girl who cry all along the song is little Moa. She's 13 years old at that time and she was very sad that Susuka graduate Sakura Gakuin and left her.

That's why it's SU-METAL! She is the lead vocalist! And with fairies YUI-METAL and MOA-METAL flying freely around her, the one and only BABYMETAL was born😊It's a miracle😊SG is so classy and elegant, even in mini-skirts! That's the Japanese culture of KAWAII 😁.

She looks like Yui cuz it is Yui. Moa cries the whole time but that is just Moa being Moa. Yui doesn't lose it until the end. Su is tough as nails.

I'm a Metal guy, but I love Sakura Gakuin and this song in particular. It must be one of the catchiest songs ever written. And no matter how often I watch this, it tears me apart every time, even more so now that SG is gone.

Oh many of the SG girls had nicknames - given either by their classmates or by the fukei (the name of SG fans - and kind of means family). Some of the nicknames for the girls here include Nene-don (for Nene), Boss Panda (for Raura). Baby-chan for Saki Ooga, Tensai (for Rinon).. and all have their own story and meaning.

Despite being a huge Babymetal fan, I don't really know all that much about Sakura Gakuin. What I do know is that SG started in 2010 and Su was one of the first class of members. SG members are aged 10-15, but Su was 12 when she started. She graduated in March 2013 after she turned 15 in December 2012, after which Babymetal became an independent act separate from SG (which was celebrated at Legend 1997), even though Yui and Moa remained in SG until 2015 when they graduated. In her final year in SG, Su was the class captain, so she was the leader at the time. And yes, that was Yui, and Moa was there too. SG continued with different girls rotating in and out of the line up until it ended in 2021 when the final class graduated (widely believed to be due to Covid). While I'm not really into SG, I do love this song and the message about friendship that it has. One thing I discovered going to the recent concerts in January is that Su is most charismatic person I think I've ever seen. Without sounding like a massive simp, I legit could not take my eyes off her when she was on stage on front of me; it was actually kind of overwhelming seeing her in person.

Every single girl on the stage poured their eyes out... First time I saw Yui lose it big time. And Moa - as Moa does - was a broken girl.

Su-chan, as the eldest 'sister' and student council president, had to remain strong to 'smile her best' as an example for all the other girls. But don't be fooled, she is crying throughout the whole song. And i believe you missed all three Babymetal girls in one shot. The seniors of every year is always featured as the lead singers for this and other songs. Yes, all graduations are like this, fun, nostalgic, and a tear fest. Even for the fans regardless how many times we've watched it. Great reaction, and totally can't wait for the next one. Message would be my next recommendation.

Sakura-gakuin has a lot of contents which Su,Yui,Moa, will also perform. In addition to music, there are many shows and dramas based on actual classes. Among them, there is a drama like the back story of this "My Graduation Toss". The video is titled "Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo Surprise Appreciation Party for Suzuka Nakamoto [ENG SUB] [REUPLOADED]". It is not a music video, but it is a drama like a documentary. I highly recommend it. I also recommend you to watch other Sakura-gakuin videos. I think you will enjoy BABYMETAL more.

I agree!! I've been suggesting SG for a while now.

It might help to understand class years in Japan are named for the start as opposed to the end of the year in the US. Hence, you might have noticed the 2012 sign in the back, when the performance was in March 2013. You should react to the Surprise Appreciation for Suzuka’s graduation.

Is not easy fighting the tears with this song, everytime. Suzuka is 15 yo at this moment (around 10 to 15 is the range of age between these girls), still a princess and preparing to become not only a superlady, which is the ultimate goal for them, but also a metal queen goddess. There's an official MV of this song but the emotional is this one, no doubt about it. At the end you can see two girls hugging each other on the floor, the one on the left right is Yui-chan, and the other is called Saki. First girl you spotted crying is Moa-chan. Sakura Gakuin is full of these moments and is always nice to follow the journey into the Foxhole with songs like this. Thanks for sharing this and have a nice holiday.💮❤️

This one is definitely more emotional than the MV, but I will also say the MV gets to me as well. Especially at the end when all of the girls are waving goodbye to Suzuka.

This song was established as a traditional graduation song in Sakura Gakuin and the graduates were always in the center. Normally, only Su would have graduated this year, that's why she is in the center. But Mariri (the tallest girl, who also cried a lot in this video) decided to drop out of Sakura Gakuin just a few weeks before the show, so she also graduated, but was not in the center of the performance. Su hardly ever cried in Sakura Gakuin, that was usually Moas part 😂

Nice one, thanks! This is what I use to check if I'm still a human. And... test passed ✅ The girls from this particular year were between 11 and 15 years old (they are usually between 10 and 15). I'm pretty much used to see Moa and Nene crying but the moment reality hits Yui like a bus gets me every time.

Because (AFAIK) at least they did not know that BABYMETAL would be continued, at this point.

If people mentioned Su's solo they probably meant Sakurairo No Avenue, from the same event, but I think you get better results on YT if you look for Sakurairo No Avenue Suzuka Nakamoto, or the japanese name 桜色のアベニュー さくら学院, there are a few uploads on YT.

So SG was a school based idol group with the girls 10/11 to 15 (when they graduated out). Most girls did 3-4 years in SG (a rare few like Moa/Yui due to timing did 5 years). Each year is referred to as a nendo (the school year) and ran from 1st April to 1st March. There were radio/tv shows, live performances and idol shows during that year where the girls sing, dance and act in sketches and they even do school tests (the nendo tests are infamous and led to many many in jokes - like the infamous 'compact dolorean' which was Su's answer to one test question to what CD meant). The nendo year would end with a live show of songs, dances and sketches and an actual graduation ceremony with a diploma, speeches, etc. and was a big emotional thing. As you can imagine having spent between 3 and 5 years in SG this was massively emotional for all the girls and tears were common (only one girl never cried, Rinon, who is actually in this show. Rinon is famous for never crying even during her own graduation). There are I think 35 SG graduates now and they are very much a little family and even 10 years later kept in touch with past and current members. At least 3 SG graduates are known to have attended the recent 2 BM shows - Nene, Raura (both classmates of Su and in this show) and Sana - one of the final ever class members. Also of course Momoko (another SG graduate) was in the show performing as the Avenger. I suspect other SG members might also have attended but not revealed it on social media.

🎓 /🌸 🏫 Yes, this was Su's graduation from Sakura Gakuin. She was the only senior in her last year, so the song centered around her. When this song was performed in later years, the current group of seniors would be featured. Since Sakura Gakuin is themed around school life, members graduate at 15, no matter when they joined the group. They could join as young as 10. There was one year with a delay because of COVID with a couple of 16 year olds in the graduating class. This song has the same songwriting team as the Sakura Gakuin song 'Heart no Hoshi'. It was written by Tommy february6 (Tomoko Kawase) and her husband and bandmate Shunsaku Okuda. That one features Moa and Yui in their senior year, along with fellow seniors Hana and Yunano. All of those girls were also in this video.

excellent content TYLR-METAL, you might also enjoy the MV for this song which has a brief MOA does Hendrix impression as well as YUI doing a brief Angus Young impression, but the most emotional thing happened during this ceremony, where all the girls say goodbye to Su and cry their way through their speeches, so yeah SU was 15, so already a seasoned performer and just a few months away from her ascension into metal goddess.

FINALLY you do a Sakura Gakuin video!!! I'm a little late so it seems everyone has answered your questions already, so I'll just add a few thoughts. This was Su's final performance in SG. So that's why all the tears. This was the only year (class of 2012) that had only one member as a senior graduate. The previous year had 3, and subsequent years had 2 or more. So this particular year of SG had a lot of focus on Suzuka as she was, by default, also class president of SG. About 90% of Japanese Babymetal fans are also hardcore SG fans. And when I say hardcore, I mean HARDCORE fans. I've been fortunate enough to have attended 4 SG graduations myself. As for Su "keeping it together" through her performance, she said in an interview once that her acting coaches would emphasize not crying on stage and that she worked really hard at it and somewhat mastered it. Although she did almost break earlier in this concert when the members got to say their goodbyes to Su ( you'll hopefully react to that video eventually) That girl that looks a lot like Yui... That's cause it IS Yui😂😂 Moa is in there too! SG is a group as a whole. They make songs as a group. But each years graduates will have a senior song or two on the album. This was one of Su's. She also performed another solo song at this concert. But generally the whole graduation concert is the whole group performing with the graduates being the spotlight. Yui and Moa are both in this performance. They would not graduate for another 2 years. They graduated class of 2014. I hope you continue exploring Sakura Gakuin. There's still tons more. Hi, TYLR. A couple of notes. Folks are calling Su- the class president, but the actual title was "President of the Student Council." This is in keeping with the Sakura Gakuin theme of school life and is the title they gave to the lead member. Despite the title of President, i don't think think this was an elected position, but rather an appointment by the production staff. There was some conflict behind the scenes the year prior over Su-'s appointment as not all of the members considered her "reliable." It's all good in the end as Su- took the lead member role seriously and hence the emotions of the members about her leaving are quite genuine. That is also why in this performance, her very last with SG, you can see Su- really working to encourage the other members to hold it together and "give their best smile."

I think the age range would be the equivalent of 5th grade to 9th grade. 8:15 Yui and Moa are both in this.

The girl you see always crying is Moa!! And there is Yui too in the performance. Members of Sakura Gakuin can range from 10 to 15 years old! those in 5th and 6th grade wear red bow ties (at 7:21 in your video, the camera follows member Ooga Saki, who is in 6th grade, you can see a clear view of the floppy little tie) and those in 7th-9th grade wear red neckties (which you can see suzuka wearing, as well as majority of the members here). When members graduate middle school, it is mandatory that they leave sakura gakuin as well !!

Su was 15 and was the oldest in that performance. And it was only Su and Mariri Sugimoto who graduated after this performance so all the other girls continued in SG after this concert. I'm not quite sure if Su, Moa and Yui already knew at this point that they would continue doing BABYMETAL even after Su graduated SG. But if they didn't it would explain why Yui and Moa cried so much during this show.

Kind of. What was originally supposed to be Babymetal's final performance (Legend Z) happened a month before Su graduated from Sakura Gakuin. (Legend Z was in February, graduation was in March.) They went into Legend Z thinking it was their last show as Babymetal. They (supposedly) learnt at the same time the audience did that they would continue, though it was originally only supposed to be for a limited time. One other concert was announced for June, 3 months after the graduation (NHK Hall). This was supposed to be the new 'final show' for them as Babymetal. However, Babymetal proved popular enough that they just never stopped. So, basically, they had their 'final show', where they learnt Amuse wanted Babymetal to do 1 more show. They went into the graduation thinking that the NHK Hall 3 months after graduation was their new final show together.

They already knew Babymetal would be continuing. This was mentioned in the Tower Records' SG senior interview with Su-chan a couple of weeks earlier. But it still meant a much reduced schedule of activities together and the end of an era.

That hug was not a fake one but a genuine friendship hug. Ten years later, the girl who hugged Su went to BabyMetal's first concert in 2023. Those hugs, those tears are sincere.

is it safe to say it won't be long until a certain music producer starts watching some SK concerts, nendo tests and other SK skits? lol Nakamoto Suzuka is awesome, but the rest of the girls do have their own little personality, can't help but adore each one :) Babymetal, Sakura Gakuin are rare gems, enjoy them :) Personally, as a grown man, I never thought I would enjoy watching something like SK ... but here I am just falling in love with SK BTW, first ever Sakura Gakuin graduation (previous year), Su didn't "have it all together" at times during the last song ... very endearing and emotional

As others have explained the ages - Su was the oldest and graduating (along with Mariri who was not aging out but rather deciding to leave SG - the only girl to ever leave before graduation). This is about the only time you can see and hear Su almost breaking up and coming close to crying on stage. And yes both Moa and Yui are there - Moa is the one sobbing her heart out of course (Moa is known to wear her heart on her sleeve). There is another video after this when each girls talks about how special Su was and Moa's part always breaks everyone up - especially knowing what happens after now).

I think Mariri was probably commuting from Hiroshima to Tokyo like Suzuka at the start (Suzuka moves with her sister Himeka and her mom to Tokyo). And that commuting can take a real toll (also cost).

Good reaction - I would only be repeating things you've been told many times in the comments below, I have nothing different to add. I will just say this was clearly a very emotional performance for all of them - Su was graduating and leaving Sakura Gakuin and all the girls loved her and knew they would miss her as they carried on.

@@Grington300 yes, that's correct they mentioned it in their SG diaries, but I don't think we know when they decided it. We do know Moa took the longest to decide, because it's a big responsibility and her mom always let her know: school comes first.

😭😭😭 Watching the girls all breaking down one by one.... especially Yui upfront at end. The camaraderie amongst the girls, who essentially went through a Idol boot camp together, is amazing. I'm sure others will tell you, it is Su's graduation, and she was the class president that year, and that girl was Yui. wonder how deep you'll jump into SG, because aside from music, the SG Nendo Tests are hilarious.... if you want to see Su come the closest to breaking, watch the graduation speeches from the girls to Su. 🤘🦊🤘

Su held it until the very, very end. Part of her uber upbeat performance here is to both prevent herself from breaking down crying while trying to carry the rest of the girls. But if you watch the full video, at the end, after the speeches, everyone leaves the stage and Su is left by herself with a final bow to the audience. In the very brief moment as she turns to walk off the stage, you can see she starts completely loosing it. Backstage would have been a mess. But she held it together until that moment.

Su appears in commercials in 2002, she would be 5-ish at the time. So yes, she was born to preform. She enrolled at Actor's School Hiroshima in 2006 where she was joined by her sister later that year and began a duet named Tween. I think all other question have been answered. However, one does wonder if she knew BabyMetal would not end with graduation.

Other people have already answered that one Apearently the original plan was for Babymetal to end when Su graduated, then someone In charge decided they'd do one more "last" concert after she graduated Then they just shrugged and let Babymetal keep going as a separate thing, even while Moa and Yui were still part of sg But the thing to remember is, when they filmed this, the trio thought they only had one more concert together Which is why they hugged at one point during the performance And why Moa can be seen bawling her eyes out the few times she shows up on camera Especially when Su is walking under the arch of the other girls arms I'm 99.9% that's moa in the background, microphone held low at her side

Sakura Gakuin is Japanese school themed. To us it's basically 5th to 9th grade. When they graduate grade school, in real life, they also graduate from SG. This is the year end show so it's Su's last show. She knows BABYMETAL will continue so that cushions the blow. YUI and Moa and 2 other girls graduate 2 years later. Not everyone does the whole five years, depending on when they come in. Mariri who was the tall one in this group also graduated with Su. She was only there a year and was the only one to graduate early, ever. A decision by her, probably her parents. She lived to far away and focused on modeling.

Mariri had some opportunities to advance her modeling career which would have conflicted with SG. As Yui pointed out in her remarks right after this song, Mariri really wanted to stay with SG, but she had a higher dream to pursue. Edit: i should probably add that Mariri is from Hiroshima as is Su- and both attended Actor's School Hiroshima (ASH) although Su- had moved away to Tokyo for her last year with SG.

Even as a Su-metal 'fan boy' (for lack of a better words) the gushing over Su-chan is a bit much LOL 🙂 But don't worry, many of us have done the same. She was determined not to cry. Don't forget SG started in 2010, with her being 12, she did Babymetal from the start as well, so Babymetal was already going for 3 years. For example Legend 1997 concert was later that year. The first Babymetal show where you could see only Babymetal perform and you bought tickets specifically to see them: 21 Jul 2012. Had only 6 songs. But it was also 2 performances/shows (same setlist/show) on the same day: 14:30 and 18:00 13:32 "she was so identical to Yui, not even funny" It was Moa and that actually was funny. I think a great deal of Suzuka's teaching was actually from ASH, SG helped to give her even more experience obviously, but ASH allowed her to be an example to others at Amuse kids (Karen Girl's, Mini-Pati, SG)

It's so great you reacted to this. It's honesty a very emotional performance by all.

"That poor girl is crying thats so cute though" 7:27 - That is Moa. Word has it she did not know at the time if BABYMETAL was going to continue or if she would even be a part of it. Yui is also there, she cracks at the end of the song 11:45 covering her face. Realize at this time, BABYMETAL had already become very popular in Japan, so everyone knew that Su was going on to bigger things. The twins did not know if this was their final perfomance with Su or not. If you want to really feel, watch the actual graduation speeches, Moa cries profusely during Su's. Su is at every step along the way, fighting tears herself, her nose is even running. Her voice cracks many times during the song performance too. Always the stoic that never shows her tears, Su came very very close, especially when Moa absolutely breaks down into tears and runs into her arms during the goodbyes after the song. When you say "See shes right there, she looks so much like Yui." at 10:18 You are literally looking at BABYMETAL. That IS Yui on the right, and Moa on the left. They even have the usual hairstyles, just the makeup and outfits are different. They come together at least three different times during the song, as the familiar trio. The three members already knew that BABYMETAL was going to continue, but were still sad that Su was graduating from Sakura Gakuin. At this point each BABYMETAL member had already been asked if they wanted to continue with the group after Su graduated. They talked about this in their diary/blog entries at the time. This was also about two months after the BABYMETAL 'LEGEND Z' concert that symbolized the group's rebirth.

"She looks so much like Yui" it's becuase it was Yui ;) Now go watch speeches that happened just after this performance, you'll love it.

Someone has probably told you this by now but ... at 10:17 of your video that is Moa on the left and Yui on the right.

It amazes Me that He couldn´t figure out that there was Yui and Moa next to Su on more than a couple of times in that video. A lot of people just don´t pay enough attention to what they are watching, and happens a lot. They forget they have a "Pause" Button

Suzuka came from another school that closed down, so yes, she was a little older than most of the girls there.

Su was the one graduating.... she had to leave Sakura Gakuin due to her age..

Su was the only one graduating. She was 15, the other girls 11-14. All girls from Sakura Gakuin participated. IIRC this was recorded March 31, 2013. School year 2012 ended about that time. That's why the sign over the stage reads 2012. You identified Yui. Did you not recognize Moa?

That poor little girl who was crying was Moa, and that other little girl who oooked like Yui was in fact that well known performer...... Yui.

Su's graduation was a cause for celebration, but at the same time it was a painful event for Yui and Moa, who were contemplating the possibility of BABYMETAL's dissolution.

I actually have mixed feelings about reactions to this - a lot of people seem to use the tears as entertainment and that bothers me. You didn't really do that, thanks. Those little girls are very brave - that might have been one of the hardest things they ever had to do and they pulled it off.
