I actually lived probably really close to that place. Can't say I was there when they recorded the soundtrack for Made in Abyss, since I've long since moved out, but I can say I lived right there near Schonbrunn. The shots with the fountain and the horses? I've walked by there several times.

It's amazing that they don't record to picture. I feel like anime music tends to be significantly more musical and expressive because composers are allowed to write music they want to write as opposed to music that matches perfectly with on-screen action. This soundtrack is excellent and I hope to hear more from Penkin and other non-native composers.

I just came from Every Frame A Painting video about Marvel soundtrack.. I'm only aware by now of how the majority of these movie composers have less liberty and creative freedom in their works. It's more like, what you said, recording to picture. And the director would go as far to tell them to recreate a music/remix based on the already existing ones and used by previous movies. I'm glad that the equivalent of these composers with freedom still exist, especially in anime and game soundtrack making.

Eargasm every time I listen to songs from made in abyss. They did a phenomenal job on this music and I could not be more impressed.

Kevin Penkin is Made for the Abyss. His music pulls you deeper deeper into it than anything else.

Yeah I mean the soundtrack is fantastic throughout but it was difficult to notice how marvelous it is because of the grand visuals and the hooking plot and it was just too much goodnes to registrate separately but Tomorrow just threw me outside of myself, that's when it hit me like a bus and I had to research everything about this brilliant man. He really did an outstanding job on Tomorrow. There are about three points in the song about 1 - 2 seconds long I sometimes listen 15 times in a row to, just not able to stop replaying them because god they are miraculous.

Thank you for making such a treat of a video! So many talented people involved in the TV show...one of the most exciting aspects is wondering how they would tackle the story from where season 1 left off. One of the most gripping anime I've seen in the past couple years and happy to support by buying the Japanese Blu-Rays. In any case, I wish Mr. Penkin a successful career in music production, we need more anime shows with his kind of great music.

One of the best movie / TV soundtracks in recent years period. Just a completely different take on orchestral music, even when we ignore the fact that there are a bunch of instruments in there that you wouldn't find in a traditional orchestra. (OSTs need more E-pianos.)

I’m glad to see the abundance of people coming back to this clip of Kevin’s craftsmanship. The made in Abyss soundtrack is so close to my heart. 💖

OMG I'm so glad I found this video XD Made in Abyss has absolutely fantastic and breath-taking music. After I got the albums (yes, for Dawn of the Deep Soul as well), I started listening to them on almost a daily basis just because they're all so amazing. Thank you all so much for working on this show and putting so much effort into them!!!

This is one of my new top favorite anime of all time... I just found it a couple days ago, and it's virtually ALL I can think about. "Hanezeve Caradhina" is my favorite track.

If only they had shown Tomorrow... really interesting to see how the music for Made in Abyss was recorded, nonetheless! Would of been cool to see the vocals being performed, as well :P

This is so amazing thank you so much for the upload ♡♡♡ I'm such a fan of the talent and soul that Kevin Penkin hosts so this was extremely satisfieing to see. I know it's stupid but somehow it was also extremely lovely to see that all these humen just looked... human. Nothing flashy, you could meet them in the bus, meanwhile creating such insane magic.

Actually went back to listen to it. Haven’t heard it in a while and realised I confused the remix and the original. Both amazing still. But not only these even. All of the songs are great and unique since you barely hear anything similar in an anime. Just like MiA
