Amethyst deceiver, very tasty for such a little guy. As good as fairy ring champers. Grilled for toast topping 😊
greetings from Germany. I can tell that alot of mushrooms which you have in Scotland are present in Germany as well. :)

That's good to know I would love to go foraging in Germany and other European locations
Scotland looks amazing for foraging. I've only just got into this hobby since about late July. Absolutely love it.

Yeah, scotland is good. It's great you have started foraging. You will find new areas each year. Just keep getting outside and looking
Wow😊
A fantastic foraging trip. I enjoyed that. I've never seen so many chanterelles. Not bad here in SW Scotland but nowhere near as many as you found.

Thanks Laura 😊
I'm definitely a novice on mushroom foraging, But shouldn't you cut them above the root instead of pulling them so the patch will regrow next season? Thanks for sharing my friend 🤠

I see this question now and again, and my answer is no. Most of the time, there is no evidence to suggest any different infact, my local picking have increased dramatically in mushrooms in the years I've been returning to pick, I spend loads of time in the woods and getting a feel for how the mycelium and trees work also the bugs and animals that eat the fungi and how the weather affects certain types of shrooms is key some mushrooms will bring up a chunk of mycelium when you pick so I cut those ones but trial and error is key always keep your picking areas to yourself and tread carefully in areas the mushrooms and just enjoy the woods and ignore pick shamers lol.

@@pauldoolan2901yes, no evidence re pulling 😊
So false Chantelle’s are orange on the inside?

Yeah, mate, the whole mushroom is orange, and the stipe is much thinner than the golden chanterelle. Plus, the true chanterelle is yellow, easy to determine when you see the both once.

Thanks for the advice. I’m taking my son mushroom picking on Saturday, so I’m excited I just want to make sure we’re picking the right ones.
