It’s kind of reminiscent of Queen in that the competition at the time had more listeners and later people wonder how they missed it at the time. When I first heard, like two years ago, I thought it was a U2 song. Now I’ve heard it numerous times and hear lots of bands but I seriously could see Queen doing this song it’s that good

Yup, hated this album, thought it was naff, now years later it has some of my favourite tunes on it. I think that OOS, absolution and drones were the only albums i instantly loved

I might be alone in my belief that the 2nd Law was a criminally underrated album, and this song is one of Muse's finest.

There's an excellent reason why Muse is so popular and respected, it's because they cannot be easily classified into just a genre of music, they are a versatile band whose music can attract nearly all kinds of audience. Not only they experiment with different sounds (check the difference between Hysteria and this song!) their music is also ensured quality. They experiment, but they do it right.

For me, it's the 20 second guitar solo at 3:07 that is short but infinitely perfect. Makes my brain happy and produces that buzzy serotonin/chills throughout the body effect. The layering and build is without fault; this song I never get tired of listening to.

Sometimes when I feel really low I listen to this song as it is my favourite song performed by them. I close eyes in bed at night and then at 4:09 onwards, I get this massive rush of goosebumps. I just fully relax, let the song takeover and I feel like I'm floating.

This song is still as relevant and goes just as hard now in 2023 as it used to when it was released in 2012. It gives me the same chills today as it did the first time I heard it. It's an amazing piece of music. That bass... And the way they build up the sound... I have no words to describe the feeling. It's flawless.

I'm a classically trained singer, specializing in opera. Muse songs, especially this one, are such great songs to learn and on which to practice.

I’ve seen them live 3 times and I will always love to see them over and over again. I haven’t enjoyed their newer stuff as much as I did pre-2nd Law but there is just nothing like being in a packed stadium with people 8-80, all losing our voices and having a truly amazing and emotional experience together. I got goosebumps writing this, thinking about each amazing time I had seeing them live.

The mixing alone on this song is what made me get interested in the mixing/mastering side of music years ago. Glad to hear it still holds up after not hearing it for years 👍

At the end when he sings "I need to love..," I get goosebumps all up and down my spine. It's absolutely beautiful.

This song is very deep of sense. He is taking about the fact her lover unfortunately passed away and desperately waiting for a sign from (in his dream) because he can’t realized she is gone.

Been playing this song over and over again since yesterday. Talk about the love I've never had, I'm so desperate when Matt Bellamy goes "I need your looooooooooove". His voice shakes my bones!

Always listen to this song when I’m alone in the car. I’m usually with my kids all day . But when I get my ten mins alone I play this song and it brings out the most profound feelings . I get to feel my soul leave my body for a second to be ready and come back to be a mom to my 2 beautiful kids . One of my favorite songs .

This song is absolutely AMAZING, i didnt expect myself to tear up but i just couldnt stop - and Matthew was singing this with all his heart, enjoying himself, having a great time and playing around, getting some laughs out of the crowd. it was an ethereal moment

One of the best songs by Muse, they always tend to surprise us with their music. The way this song crescendos is amazing… n u r singing alongwith- mamamama mad mad mad 😊

I broke up in 2013, When this song came out. This song helped me a great deal to cope with the pain. It still hits different.

The production, the songwriting, the arrangement, the composition, the performance, everything is perfect!! It’s absolute madness to pull something like this. That slide at 3:14 literally gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Such a simple and short solo but honestly so good. It's like someone speaking a profound statement in a few words. Muse is such a masterpiece.

Interesting fact that matt wrote this song after the altercation with his girlfriend back then. She left him to think about his actions and after playing her the song she took him back 😂 what a legend. Must love him👏❤️
