Holy sh*t y'all, I've had this song in my head for literal months, but only the opening part, absolutely none of the lyrics so I couldn't google it (it was just the intro dunun du du dun repeating guitar riff) but the only place I've ever heard this song was in a music history class my freshman year of high school (so like 2017), and I was so desperate to find out what song it was I emailed that teacher, and even he wasn't sure what song it was, but I told him that it was rock music and that the artist was male (I also vaguely remembered something about it reminded me of lizards, but my brain makes really weird connections and associations so this was not considered a vital piece of information), so he told me a few artists that we studied that fit the criteria, but when each artist has possibly hundreds of songs it was impossible to narrow it down enough to even entertain the idea of finding it, so I gave up. It's a few weeks later now, I'm supposed to be asleep, but I was just thinking about lizards, idk why I just like lizards, and somehow the word reptilia floated into focus just enough for me to, without meaning to, go "hey thats a song title" which I literally have no clue how I even remembered that, but oh my god was it the fastest I've ever gotten out of bed. I'd consider this the most important revelation I've had during quarantine. I absolutely cannot believe I found this song. Edit: Mom I'm famous

hah, I once crashed into a drunk person (who was walking across the road in a wrong place) while listening to Skipknot - Wait and Bleed at full blast. Was lucky enough to see this perfomed live, with these guys turning up at the end of a tiny gig (bout 150 people) in north england a couple of weeks ago, thought i was just going for a canadian indie band but they annouce their "special guests" near the end of the night and suddenly this lot come on blasting reptilia. I was 20 aprox…. MTV was in Argentina and I see them playing lastnite…. Men…. They were SO different from the rest and so easy going at the same time. That “video” stayed in my mind since then. I am 46 and rediscovered them not a long time ago and I am amazed with how good they are and still around after all these years. Julian’s voice gives you goosebumps. At the door it’s one of the best songs I have known! Go and look it up! Hope I can see them live soon

That 1:14 riff is an all-timer in my opinion. These boys did more for music than they can ever realize. The overdriven vocals, the clear sharp guitar tone on the Riviera, etc. I still haven't heard anybody else get close to how clean their dirty is. I love the mystery of these guys too, A+++ in my books all the way. Cheers gents.

I hate how the one relative I have that is mildly famous, though honestly not particularly well known, no one believes I have. Nikolai Fraiture, the bass guitarist, is American/French and I'm pretty much entirely British and he's my uncle. At least I feel proud myself to be able to claim that my uncle is part of such a brilliant band.

***** My dad's side. It's quite complicated, but it's my dad's sister is married to Nikolai. But then she's really only his half sister, so to be honest I'm not entirely sure if I am related to him, but our family don't do the half-sister half-brother thing because it doesn't sound right and it sounds a bit like he's not reaaaaally related to her.

Great era of rock music.What a beautiful world we live in.

This was literally one of my favorite songs when i was like 12 years old. I got my first iPod ever and my sister put in all of her college roommate’s songs in it, apparently the song was downloaded from a cd so its title was “Track” and a number. I was so mad because i couldn’t figure out who the artist was and there was no shazam back then. Years later this song appeared in a Guitar Hero game and i was SOOOOO EXCITED that finally after like 5 years i finally figured out who the artist/band was and the name of the song. I have been a die hard Strokes fan ever since !

I remember seeing this on Rockzilla back when I was 12. I loved it and recorded it on a VHS so I could listen to it whenever I wanted. It's nuts how available everything is with smartphones in most of our pockets nowadays. Back before the rise of the internet, you had to be resourceful if you didn't have money or a computer.

There’s something so simple yet complex about the strokes. I love the sound of the first two albums, they are truly timeless. I usually don’t say a single is a favorite song of mine from any band, but this song is the exception to my rule.

The good news is that this is the single that helped them hit the mainstream the bad news is that the strokes have disbanded, julian is no longer interested in making anything like this anymore, and is now making (very) experimental 80's garage stuff with The Voidz so *cough* yeah
