@@jackdawkins1241 interesting. As read this book in french I didn't notice. I should read it again.
The lyrics are phenomenal and so creative and go beneath the skin the instrumentation is excessive and complex the playing is outstanding. especially the pizzicato strings give me the chills every time for the last 14 years, and the bass is so juicy and satisfying. the singing is absolutely amazing. I feel every word Matt sings, and the harmony in the chorus is awe-inspiring! the production quality is so good that you don’t even notice how good it is. the buildup to the last chorus is incredible and I didn’t even notice the subtle vocals that Matt sings in it until I listened to the song with good headphones. These vocals really bring it all home for me. Clearly one of the best songs that I have ever heard and it will be part of me always. Thank you muse

yes, that song differs a lot from the others but I think that's great that they has been changing all the time from the beginning of their career, they've been trying new things, mixing different genres and because of that every album was so unpredictable, each song so different and unique. I appreciate that because It's a prove, they don't make music for fame of money but they do it because they love it and it's the way of expression. They're not afraid of what people will think.

Having a deep appreciation for music, I have long known that what I wish to listen to is driven by my mood. In the right mood, I can enjoy opera, classical, pop, alternative, heavy metal, country, etc.. But there has always been a special list of artists I can enjoy in virtually any mood. Pink Floyd has always been on the top of that list. But, I am discovering Muse has joined that list. Matt Bellamy's voice can send electricity down my spine. I do not know how I missed it for so many years, but I can spend hours listening to them.

Whoever thought of the “I want to reconcile the violence in your heart” lyric is genius
"Undisclosed desires in your heart" powerful words. "Please me, show me how it's done, tease me, you are the one" this song is the ultimate intimacy that all humans are looking for. Big fan of Muse, listen to their other song "unintended"- absolutely a masterpiece.
I remember when this album came out. I was so pissed off. Muse was the only pop band I kept listening when I started listening to rock and metal and felt like the rest of pop music was worthless. I was still young and learning, I felt I had to be a "true" metal fan because it was the best genre to listen to. I was missing on everything good with no criteria, starting to mature musically, but Muse had this electric guitars that still made me crazy. It was hard for me listening to them playing pop without a little touch of metal or rock. I felt betrayed and disappointed, but then I listened to the album another time, and then another, and I kept listening and discovering how rich and powerful different styles of music can be in the right place and moment. Muse and Queen taught me not to close my mind to one genre, and even though they're often compared I don't find them so similar, the only similarity is that they are both really special bands that trascend genre etiquettes, with really great musicians. Now I listen to everything I can, I try to sing and play every genre I can so I can have music in my mind for every time and place. I feel blessed with music, and this song played a big part on that.

“Undisclosed Desires” by Muse appears to be about a person wanting someone to put down their emotional guard a little to show their uninhibited side. I also like that the singer mentions about trying to show others that the person he is trying to get to be more of themselves is more than what they may appear to be on the external physical appearance side.

Lots 0f things should be more popular than Despacito... doesn't mean it's any good tho. These guys sucked way less when I saw them live when they first started out.
My favourite Muse song. I love the chorus SO much.
Man, I remember when this song felt very futuristic to me and now it's 13 years old. I didn't even know what undisclosed desires meant back then lol. Still one of my favourite muse songs!

I love this song that even though it is intimate, there are no sappy undertones.
Muse is one of the only bands that appreciates the bass the way it deserves to be appreciated

Yup, I can in fact confirm that this is still great in 2024
This song is going to age like wine, it was good when it came out, its better in the present, and in the future it'll be magnificent
That bass though!

I read this as he said it-
That bass tone/synth combo in the chorus is perfect. The bass taking the knife cutting slap tone and the synth riding the low droning whole notes to fill in the bottom end. Purely awesome.
I love this song. A true lover will free you, allow you to be yourself, not cause you to hide.
Remember when everyone hated this song because it didn't sound like Muse's older stuff? Ah, the good old days :')
