Indeed some of the techniques used are part of the Muay Boran repertoire, but this is not a Muay Boran fight; neither in the rules of the fight, nor in the tactics of the fighters. It is simply a Muay Thai match with rope wraps (Kaard Chuek). The only disciplines that come close to how a Muay Boran fight should be are Kudo and Lethwei. If Wrestling below the waistline was legal in Lethwei then it would be 100% a Muay Boran fight.

@@Sporkonafork1 lethwei and muay boran are the same its the way thailand and burma used to fight during wars. both have same skills. muay thai is just a simplified and modified version of muay boran just to make it more safty for sport. otherwise till this day would have over 1000 deaths

It is not real boran and also those ropes do not have the knots in the knuckles also the boran is more lethal than lethwei so the father of muay thai defeated ten Burmese without rest and quickly and from there the Burmese copied the techniques and stole the postures and head attacks

Muay is the Original Name which is Boxing. Thai is added to differentiate from other County. Muay Boran don't need Thai added to it. There is already Boran.

Nice fight, terrible music choice. They should've played some of that traditional Thai music they play in Thai fights.

This kinda competition is not Muay Boran. It is called Muay Kaard Chiek.

i don't know much about it, but this fight is more similar to K1, than boran... i don't se the genuine techniques from boran, and if the refree doesn't exist in m boran XD That's true, if the entire m boran techniques were used, the fight would have ended soon and very badly. However a little bit more of m boran, could be watched

We can see they use much more punches than kicks. They use even more knee than kicks, and I think that the reason is just to don't fall down. This kind of fight is more similar to mma than muay thai. I practice muay thai, but is good to see how is a "real" fight with no gloves, and this is de answer: The best is throw punches and stay up, and use kness or kicks when you must use it, not every time. There is a huge difference...

This is just Muay Thai without gloves...

Muay boran? Looks like kickboxing. What about flying knee and surprise knokout elbows?
