The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

I am guessing that a good part of the cemetery is unconsecrated. Let me know otherwise? There is a Catholic section, and a Jewish section here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Moriah_Cemetery_(South_Dakota)

I would love for you to visit Bodie California in the Eastern Sierras. You will not be disappointed I will bet my horse and hat on that fact. It would be wonderful if you do to read a few books on the people that lived there. One by Ella Cain, and another my favorite person Rosa May by George Williams the third. Please You will not be disappointed.

@@lauriewarner4848 Thanks for this information. I just happen to be going to Bodie in 2 weeks and will be taking photographs (again) in HD and 8k video. I will research your authors books and see what I can dig up (figuratively). Bodie is a land of extreme temperatures for sure and well worth the visit. The turnoff to Bodie is located on US395 between Lee Vining and Bridgeport. Its about a 10 mile drive on gravel road from the turnoff. There is a year round Park Ranger living there.

One Chinese is left there.
A point of interest is she was only 27 when she died so to live such a life and be married 5 times was pretty crazy. Wow dying at such a young age and do all she did is pretty insane.

Not to be judgmental, however it bothers me when I hear the stories that someone that has died young and committed such crimes could not go to heaven. I’m a Christian and believe my sins are paid for, and it bothers me to think that these people are might not have asked to be forgiven of their sins from Jesus Christ and will reside in hell forever.
Deadwood is a yearly mission...the history is so phenomenal...all the famous people who lived there... thank you for posting this...
That is a beautiful cemetery. If only Samuel had known that a woman like Kitty is not worth killing or dying for. She didn't have a clue about what love was and it would seem she was a very money hungry girl. Thanks for the story Ron☺
Ron, thank you for these videos and starting such a wonderful community for people like us who love history and cemeteries.

I love Ron taking us back in time talking about our history and infamous stories related too that time
This was a very intriguing episode. My wife and I were in Deadwood just about a year ago. We, of course, walked through Mt. Moriah. Beautiful place. Thanks for this video!
I am blown away by the research and your travel. I've been with you since the beginning and admire such tenacity for history. Thanks to all who help. And especially thanks to Ron's wife for letting us borrow him😅❤
Thank you Ron for always letting me tag along on your journeys since I can’t afford to travel myself. The scenery here really looks nice and listening to you tell the stories of peoples lives back in the days is always so interesting. Only you and Chris of Whittdocs have this ability to do what the two of you do so well. 🙏🙏✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Traveling back to the 1800’s is amazing. That time is hard to imagine. Thank you for the history and for your research for all of us.
One of my kids, his wife along his two grown girls visit Deadwood on a yearly basis. They love it! Great story as usual Ron.

every year, wow, cool 👍👍👍
What a wild life she lived. It's sad in a way that she couldn't settle down some place and just be happy. This cemetery is beautiful Ron! Boy it truly was the wild west back then. Great story Ron, but they always are.
Very enjoyable story, Ron. It sounds like Kitty was a real gold digger. Robbed men blind of their gold under their noses. Beautiful cemetery. With it being on sloped land, it's interesting how the plots were leveled off with blocks of stone. I hope someone gives you the actual whereabouts of her burial site.
Interesting story, dealing with a lot of "husbands"it is a miracle it had not happened earlier.
Beautiful cemetery, such a sad story. Thank you Ron for telling it in such an amazing way, take care
You are such a great storyteller! I love the way you spin a story! When my husband was alive, we rv’d all over the country. We stayed in the deadwood area for a couple of months, and I just loved that town and the history.
Hi, Ron! Looking forward to this one! Christine's in Painesville, Ohio! 🥰

Hello 👋 Ron great story , America 🇺🇸 always have history
Another Great story!!! Thanks Ron. Take care and good night.
Ron, you have a way of bringing these people back to life, if only in our minds. It's a gift to be a good story teller... and my friend, you have it. Much love.
Ron, you need to go to the grave of Belle Starr here in Oklahoma also a interesting story. Also the Seminole Indian actor Will Sampson who played Ten Bears in “The Outlaw Jody Wales” and “ One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. His grave has what’s called a Spirit House built on top of it very interesting.

Interesting story, Ron. What a life she led. I wonder whatever became of the original tombstone they had in that 1st cemetery? Maybe it was stolen? He must have loved her to be able to take his own life as well as hers. And maybe, just maybe, she loved him as well, and she knew things would not end well for them both, hence the will she had drawn up.
Perhaps Kitty was abused as a child…decided she wasn’t going to be abused by men any longer…
These stories are so interesting Ron. Thx to Deb & all who helped bring this alive. I can believe they’re still haunting the place. Back in time, once again. RIP Kitty Wow, is all I can say for now.
Howdy! I lived in Rapid City for 22 years and made unnumerable trips to Deadwood. Never heard of Kitty Leroy! She sounds like a perfect fit for Deadwood. Mt. Mariah is a gorgeous place. Thanks for this trip back "home." 😊
Beautiful cemetery! Human nature doesn't change!
Great story Ron! Love these old west historic walks! Thanks so much. 👍💯✌🇨🇦
Nice choice of background music to set the mood.
I love these stories. We always had to visit one historic cemetery on our family trips growing up. We really are not that different from ancestors . I love that it demonstrates humans have always been that human
May they all RIP. 🙏 Griifters have always been with us. ☹️
What an awesome cemetery! Thank you for sharing it and the story.
The West was truly wild in those days. When they said, an eye for an eye it real did occur and then some. Thank you, Ron for brig this story to us. Safe travels.
Heck yeah. Back in SD my home state. Love the black hills.
Gosh Ron, such a good story. A a beautiful cemetery with all the terraces and tall pines. I’m especially fond of someone named “kitty “ 🙋♂️🐈🐈
How does a person fit that much life and misdeeds in that many years? That is amazing.
Thanks Deb❤️ Thanks Cheryl❤️ Thanks Ron for telling the story❤️ He knew What she was like so he was an Azzhat.

Another intriguing story, brilliantly told! Fascinating piece of history, Ron!!!
Another great one, Ron! Many thanks! Looks like beautiful country.
Hello Ron I'm watching you from Tucson Arizona and it's such a sad story about miss kitty. To bad that guy couldn't just live his life and leave her alone. He didn't need to kill her, but oh well he wanted revenge and I'm sure he's not resting and kitty...who knows. Thank you for sharing this story with us all. I do so appreciate all the work you do so we can hear history about people we would otherwise never knew about. Stay safe out there and God bless you
Great video Ron!!! Beautiful place. Thanks for sharing with us 👍🏻
Now I know where the title gold digger comes from. Thank you, Kitty, where ever you're at. You were a fine human being.
Hi 👋🏼 I really enjoy your videos! Thank you so much!❤😊
The original cold digger 😂 I wouldn't be haunting with the person who killed me! No way! Thanks for the walk, stay save.
So interesting. I’m finding out so much about American history through hearing these stories and you giving us context. Thank you
Another great one, Ron. You are a great teacher and historian who has developed his talent.
Love that cemetery it's beautiful
Interesting story of the past !!
This was a fascinating story! The cemetery is beautiful with the way it is laid out. Thank you, Ron. As always, you do an excellent job with your storytelling.
Ron, your story telling is so entertaining. Thank you so much. You bring these characters to life.
Beautiful peaceful place. No cars, no huge buildings or freeways. I’m booking it right now!!
Good story, indeed. RIP Kitty and Samuel. Thanks, Ron, for sharing your video.
Wow, such a haunting story😢 Kitty may have felt her estranged husband will come to tragically end both their lives💔
6:47 alot of "rock" offerings on that burial plot>>Every stone has many offerings>>>>>>and the main one COLMAN has some on his marker
What a beautiful cemetery! Thank you Ron for bringing us along!
That cemetery is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen!!
What a magnificent cemetery. Thanks for another amazing journey back in time, Ron. Kitty was quite a woman!
Thanks for sharing Ron. I love how you take us on your adventures to see all these cool cemeteries.
Awesome as always Ron. Thank you !!
Thanks Ron for sharing these great videos I enjoy watching and learning about the history of them.
A story I had never heard about. That cemetery is really beautiful. Steep hills and I can only imagine it is difficult to get the caskets and vaults between all the graves and down all the inclines without losing control of it all on the steep hills.
Hello Ron thank you for all you do,the history, the stories, and your time.thank you sir.
I absolutely love these kind of stories about things that happened in the long days of past history. Always so interesting to learn about. That is really a beautiful cemetery, it would be a interesting walk looking at all the old gravestones there. Keep yourself safe out there Ron.🙂💟
Watching this now from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Beautiful evergreens, beautiful cemetery. It’s a wonderful ghost story and it sent shivers down my spine.
Ron , great job on this one also. The music gave it an eerie vibe to your description of the I’ll fated performer. I loved it! ❤
I absolutely love your channel. Always so interesting and, for me as a Brit I get to peek into some of your very fascinating history. Thank you 🙏🏻
Ron, I knew about Kitty and Curly, but only a teenie bit. Thank you so much for this wonderful story. I've always wondered what the real story was and thanks to you now I know. Great Video. I love Deadwood
You always have an interesting story for us. I enjoy them. Thank you
Love cemeteries in the woods, thanks Ron for sharing this story.
Times where tough back then, for sure. But people's nature's haven't changed, love, greed, envy, and hate still flow in our very being.
Great video and story Ron! Need to get there sometime and pay a visit to that area. The music is so very fitting for this story as well.
Thanks for sharing ron
Enjoyed the history lesson❤
You are so close, Ron! Feel free to honk as you pass back through Des Moines!! Another great video, thank you
Great video as always! Sir, you have the very best videos! Have a great and safe day Ron. God bless 🙏
Thanks so much for Sharing!🩵
Great one!!! This is a very intriguing story. Is love to know more. Great job!
Fascinating story! Thanks so much! 👍🙏☺️♥️
I watched this one again. The music is so good. Pretty scenery. Since they had a stone marker for her in the old cemetery, they should have relocated it with her. That's a shame they didn't. Another celebrity in Deadwood to bring tourism. They survive a lot off of tourism. It is such a cool place. Lots of history and infamy.
Very unique, tree-laden, beautiful cemetery. I’m winded just looking at all the ups and downs! Glad you take us along! Please take care with your health, we need you around for a long while!❤
Great channel. Great content. Great work. Thank you so much!
