Another excellent installment from the D&P. Quality impartial advice from the Masters at Work. It's good to see you disagree from time to time - We all do the same when presented with a new beer. Some love it, some don't. That's life! As for that Blonde Ale, who knows what's happened there? That's the homebrewing game in a nutshell and what keeps us striving towards perfection. Happy brewing, guys.🍻🍻

Stouts are generally sweet, especially milk stouts. If you are looking for bitterness , coffee and dark chocolate, more likely you guys will find it in porters. Roasted malts vs chocolate malts. Another great vid guys, very entertaining :)

Another good one lads, i'm not really a fan of stouts myself, i'll have one every now and then, but, each to his own.

Milk stout and Guinness are different styles so they should taste quite different. Sounds like the milk stout is what is should be. If you want a Guinness try a Irish stout kit or get yourself a can of brewdog layer cake milk stout to try the other end of the spectrum. Nice channel guys keep the reviews coming in any case. 👍

One of the greatest strengths of the show is the impartiality, say it how it is lads 👏. Just hope this hot weather starts to drop, I have had a similar chemical taste, not contaminated just the heat causing havoc.

Dave P..........I thought the looks on on your face during the reviews was brilliant......2 beers that you can't drink.....nothing worse than the excitement of waiting to drink that first pint of your new brew and you find it's not what was expected.... Hope you saved some of the cider from last time and thank God the pubs are back open. Keep up the great work, love the vids and look forward to the next one.

If you don't like the sweetness cut down on the lactose (it is unfermentable sugar derived from milk which gives the sweetness to milk stout like mackison or cream label). PS I do love your reviews but milk stout should be called sweet stout !! And I'm not a fan of them too 😉

Great to see you guys being honest and giving us a proper review. I'm a all grain brewer, but tried and love the Hazy IPA and will be buying another kit, I wondered if the rest of the range was the same quality so went looking for reviews of the other muntons kits. Good to know there is work to do on the rest of the range before I buy those too. 35 pints of a beer you dont like is a bit of a burden, either chuck it or drink it... sorry it looks like you have about 90 pints to get through! Good looking bar though mate!

Just noticed the bar frontage isn't turquoisey-blue anymore...! Milk stouts are sweet, an acquired taste perhaps... quite like London Beer Factory 'Zia' which you can get in big Tesco, it's a tiramisu in a glass... or the Northern Monk 'Norse Star' or Siren raspberry stout in Morrisons. If I lived closer I'd help get rid of that stout ;)

Yes I was thinking that, they do tend to be sweet, although they need a bit of dark choclate/coffee bitterness. Have you tried Drygate Orinoco, used to crop up in Sainsburys, although I get mine direct online now. That tastes like Tiramisu as well, and I love it. Maybe I will like the Muntons 😁

Good honest reviews, and still entertaining Thanks lads. Pity about the Munton's beers not living up to the standard of the Hazy IPA. Are you going to try the last two in the range? Should be testing a bottle of the Hazy this weekend as it comes to the end of conditioning 🍻👍

Molasses is basically the same as 'Tate and Lyle's' treacle you used to get in tins for making 'Parkin' with! The Munton's kits seem to be a bit if a down apart from the Hazy IPA. I don't mind a sweeter beer like the APA.

Just watched this. I have not brewed a kit for years but enjoy your reviews. I purchased a Brewzilla 20 months ago and dived headfirst into all grain brewing. Your comment saying your all grain brews all taste horrible when you first keg them worries me. I am 28 brews in now and non tasted horrible when I kegged them. They all tasted ok. I admit many did condition nicely and were better with time. Is it your water, are you treating it at all. Something is wrong somewhere lads. They should not all be like that. It is such a shame. I don't like to see you not enjoying your beers...But you do pull some great faces🤣🤣🤣

Molasses (/məˈlæsɪz, moʊ-/)[1] or black treacle (British English) is a viscous substance resulting from refining sugarcane or sugar beets into sugar. Molasses varies by the amount of sugar, method of extraction, and age of plant. Sugarcane molasses is primarily used for sweetening and flavoring foods in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere. Molasses is a defining component of fine commercial brown sugar.[2] It is also one of the primary ingredients used for distilling rum.[3] Sweet sorghum syrup may be colloquially called "sorghum molasses" in the southern United States.[4][5] Molasses has a stronger flavor than most alternative syrups.

Thanks guys but I'm surprised you don't know what molasses is it's treacle but also don't know why you bothered brewing the milk stout if you expected it to be like guinness, it's an old ladies drink from when I was a kid and you did mention mackison which we used to describe as guinness with ten sugars in when I was a lad. I will try the Muntons Flagship range but have no intention of trying the milk stout and don't know why they bothered to make it but that's just my opinion as I'm not Eena Sharples, lol. Take care and all the best. Stevie

If the intended it to be like that I don't what they we're thinking,no one drinks mackison but most of the world drink Guinness, I tried many flavoured stouts the only one that comes close to the sweetness was cinder toffee stout🤢🤮,we got sent these kits to make and review,so won't be a great loss not to drink it

Hi Gareth We've done St petes stout in the past,I use mix gas as the nitro will give you a smoother taste I normally do mine at 30psi ,I seem to remember it's a quite a good stout but my mate did it last year and it tasted a little more malty than I remembered Cheers 🍻

Your scores for beers that you don't care for are too high, and returning to a beer that you didn't like to raise the score because the other two weren't good is wrong, a belated 9 makes the 10 in previous weeks look weak. However great descriptions and a great help for us home brewers!

Hi Neal I understand what your saying If we give beers a 10 it's because we would glad make them and drink them again a beer that's a 9 it's probably not a bad beer ,it's not just blowing our socks but perfectly drinkable, but probably wouldn't go out of my to brew again,as where anything lower than a 7 is possibly pouring down the sink juice 🍺🍻

Well, Guinness is not a milk stout and Mackeson is, so if you think it's like Mackeson and disappointed it's not like Guinness, maybe Munton's have got it right.
