I road the five loop rollercoaster after five liters of beer. I held in all in!

I'm in love with this party. Here in Brasil we have a minor version of this party, but my dream is to go to Munich and visit the Oktoberfest.

you really got to the original Oktoberfest in munich.go with friends...you will have the best time in your life.when a whole tent full with hundreds of People are singing great Songs..and all are drunk and have fun..you will love it.

I would so love to go tot his event. If I do it will probably end up going by myself seeing as how my friends are all responsible now and are adulting.

Another great festival similar to Oktoberfest is the St. Ruperts festival in Salzburg which lasts 5 days around the end of September. I discovered it by accident, while I had a trip booked to Salzburg and Innsbruck last year thanks to your channel. Just a 10-minute walk from my hotel and a great place to end my days after sightseeing. There is nothing better than celebrating with the locals while traveling. Stiegl Beer is now one of my favorites!

The second big festival is in Stuttgart ( volksfest) is one weak later it`s a little bit smaller. Thank you for all your videos. I like it. Thank you for all the interesting background of history, culture, art, and architecture. I look towards for the next video all the time.

Must do bucket list item from everyone worldwide! An incredible time, the Germans seriously know how to party and that's coming from an American haha

You have a better chance at winning the lottery than finding somewhere to sit down at Oktoberfest. Apart from that you definitely have to go at least once. Really good going as a young guy lots of beautiful women, and the german women know how to smiles which is more than I can say for UK women.

Tents open at 11am and most have tables for drop ins so it's not that difficult to get a table. Go on a weekday and arrive early.

M friends and I just got back from Oktoberfest Munich and we had no problem finding a table. All we did was ask if we could sit with people and we would buy them a round of beers. BINGO! We were able to find a place to sit at every tent, even on Saturday and Sunday after 6 pm which were told was impossible. Not too hard if you know how to ask.

There are no alcoholics in Deutschland. I'm pretty sure the closest translation is "never thirsty". Also, Paulaner Hefe-Weizen may just be my favorite bier, ever, so far.

I am a wine guy .And rollercoaster and beer , I don't know man .

Most of the recent Oktoberfest videos that I see on KZread seem to indicate a younger crowd, but Rick Steves seems to have found some "old" revelers. Watching videos on KZread of the Oktoberfest in past decades, it seems that even as recently as the 1980s, the crowd was older and not many were wearing traditional Bavarian costumes. Many of the younger crowd now from all over the world are in Lederhosen or Dirndls, whether the wearer is from Bavaria or Australia or Japan. I think that's cool. Unfortunately for me, I'm past "young adult". I'll have to content myself with a Maß in a leafy beer garden among my peers and try not to think of the fun that I'm missing out on.

That's because the cameras focus on young girls, as well they should. There is a pretty even mix of all ages really.

When this opens up back again, post pandemic, they better order twice (no, thrice) as much beer to make up for lost time.

If Germany's on your list, consider timing your trip around one of Europe's biggest parties: Munich's Oktoberfest. I've been in Munich for each of the last two Oktoberfests, and I'm so impressed by the simple Bavarian joy of the party. For a visitor, there's no better place to see (and join) Germans at play.
