Munich and the liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp (1945)

This is an excerpt from the film "The Spirit of Liberation": • Spirit of Liberation -...
Dachau Concentration Camp was one of the first concentration camps established by the Nazi regime. It was built only a few weeks after Adolf Hitler came to power. It existed from 22nd March 1933 until the liberation by the Allies on 29th April 1945. Soldiers of the 7th US Army liberated the main camp. The compound was located about 20 kilometres northwest of Munich and was built on the orders of Heinrich Himmler, Munich's police chief and, from 1934, Reichsführer of the SS. Especially in the early years, it served to imprison and intimidate political dissidents. Later, priests, Jewish and homosexual people, Jehovah's Witnesses and Sinti and Roma were also among the prisoners. It was considered a "model camp" for all National Socialist concentration camps, and of the total of at least 200,000 prisoners, about 41,500 died. In addition, Dachau was a training ground for concentration camp guards and SS leaders, who were also deployed in extermination camps after the beginning of World War II.
Since 1965, the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial has been located on the site, which is visited by around 800,000 people every year.

Videos like this should never be blurred. What a shame! We cannot censor any of these horrific scenes. They have to be right there in the face of the viewers so they can never forget or deny the perverse and inhuman nature of the nazis. We cannot censor history as it happened. These films are proof that we cannot forget what a vile despicable man can do such nefarious things to defenceless men.

Absolutely agree with.Never blurred how savage scenes are. Also never blurred why Allied Forces kept on bombing German cities 3 months more for fun after Germans declared surrender.Just in the same line (moral) also there should be thousands of videos how perverse and inhuman socalled President USA's Truman genocided the Japan innocents with atomic bomb right? What a massacre and war crime it was!Same as how socalled Israel nation genocided Palestinians, killed massacered and force the rest move from their homes and land.Even so,all must showed in one video that indeed they have no difference from each other about "Perversing and inhumaning" even worst. We good and deal?If so its fair.If not down with the Hypocrisy!Since 1950 we knew enough and German people paid enough.Lets look down a bit of war and civil crimes of USA and Israel shall we?

  • @Mussi93

Flags and statues are not there to preserve history. They're there to glorify people, nations or ideas. No one eradicates your racist history and your idols, don't worry. It's just that most rational people don't want to glorify those times. That's why museums exist. To display the horrors and to teach people about why it happened and why we shouldn't allow people like you to take power ever again.
