Thank you for this video. It's always a huge help to see a job first rather than figuring it out on the fly! On my 2013 1.4L Dart, the bottom two Torx were T25's. The nut on the band clamp was a 7mm. Once I got it off, I flipped the stupid clamp around, cursed the factory for installing it in nearly the most idiotic orientation, and completed the rest of the install with minimal fuss. My wife harness connector was different than yours. Mine had a red tab that I pulled back and I had to use my flat grass screw driver to press the release on the same face that the red tab was on to release the latch while pulling I just finished a test drive and the MPX Mopar Throttle Body sure seems like a winner. My 145k mile throttle body looked really clean. I'm very happy that it was! The factory throttle reset procedure is: Turn on the vehicle without starting it and all accessories should be off. After the last chime has sounded, press and hold the has pedal. While holding the gas pedal the check engine light will start to blink. Keep holding the gas pedal after the check engine light stops blinking and turn off the vehicle. Release the gas pedal. Wait at least 2 minutes before starting the vehicle.

is there a seal where the throttle body is connected with the engine? I've seen on Toyota's there is and they recommend changing it if you remove the throttle body, so I was thinking if it may be safer to clean it with a microfiber towel soaked in maf cleaner, without unbolting it.

Do what works for you. If you are more comfortable cleaning with a towel then go for it.

Why do you use MAF cleaner instead of throttle body cleaner? And where is the mass air flow sensor located on these engines?

I used MAF cleaner because it is safe on plastics. I wasn’t sure if there was anything that might get damaged by a stronger solvent but it was all good

Theoretically the throttle body should not be used by the engine because the multiair system partializes inlet air with the variable valves lift. When it is used? In case of multiair failure?

Nice job! In the TJet manual it's stated that when removing the throttle body a "self-teaching" procedure needs to be carried out. Did you have to do it as well? And also, is there a gasket between the throttle body and the rest of the intake? Thanks!

I just took it for a drive and didn't notice anything different. maybe that is for a completely new throttle body. i think there was a thin metal gasket but can't totally recall sorry.

@@TheEddysGarage Thank you! Mine is a 155 TJet, and sometimes I have a rough idle in the morning for about 10-15s and it clears right up, no Check engine light, no cutting out, so I thought I'd have the injectors and the throttle body cleaned just in case.

thanks for the video. I have bravo, the same engine. Why you don't remove the whole pipe piece on the throttle? I saw that the clamps are different but seems yours are different too. Maybe need a screwdriver to remove the other one?

The other clamps are a special type and you need a special tool to reuse them. It was easy this way for me

Why do you remove the throttle body? Can it be sprayed while it is attached?

You can give it a bit of a clean but you aren’t going to be able to clean both sides of the butterfly valve without taking it off. Plus you are going to blast all the dirt into your intake. Just do it right.
