I believe the good relationship between the Empress and Concubine Yue Has more to do with Concubine Yue because she holds no resentment at all toward Empress Xuan even though she was the one that Emperor Wen abandoned to marry the Empress. She could have made a big deal out of this and caused problems because the emperor really loves her and the empress knows this. Instead she is content that she lives quietly in her own palace ..

She is content enough to be a second wife with the equal treatment. She doesn't complain, and that makes the empress also feels more grateful. That is the reason they can be at peace. Yue Fei didn't even use her favorable status to demand her son to be crowned as Taizi, and that even if everyone can see that her son is far more capable than the empress' son, and neither he is evil nor arrogant like his little sister. And it also lies on the fact that the emperor is someone loyal and rightheous, he knows gratitude and repay them properly, not less not more, but appropriate. He can't be a perfect loyal lover, but well... he is an emperor at chaos time and when state treasury is nearly empty, what can one expect then? He is really wise and responsible not only toward his people but also all his children. He is truly forgiving and caring father I must say, to all his children. She has no problem whatsoever correcting perceptions and misconceptions, while rewarding and acknowledging those who are deserving. You can also see that she treats Yicheng like her own child, as the emperor and empress do. She values loyalty to the country.

First thing: Niao Niao's mother is a goddess. That slap she gave that servant when protecting NIao Niao was epic! Worthy of being a general. Second thing: The way Consort Ruyang and the Marchioness were dragged out by guards after they entered with pride and the intention to humiliate Shaoshang was the biggest face slap in the history of face-slaps... and I'm living for it. Third thing: Anyone else find Concubine Yue and Shaoshang similar? I feel like Concubine Yue would be Shaoshang's cool aunt. LOL

I always love to watch the emperor's expression each time he comes on the screen hahaha. And the response of Ruyang Wang is also hillarious: "Kill your self? Na, Tai hao le! That couldn't be any better." Hahahha. Today is Zhiseng's good day, it's also my good day... I have brought few jars of top quality wine hahahaha. Let's celebrate LOL. Ruyang Wangfei and Chunyu are both too stupid and thinking too highly of themselves so much. They bully a person who is now openly favored by the emperor, where are their brain? Who do they think they are? Is she the emperor or what? And her husband is not even her backing, how stupid is that then?

Now, this is what you call a grand wedding. Not just the nobles attended, even the Emperor, Empress, and the Concubine stormed it with their entrance. @@Armygirlsdad That’s one of the great things about this series. Most of the time in these quickly cranked out assembly line type series, the characters are either all good or all bad. This series allows characters to be more in the grey area of not always good and not always bad. There was a determined effort to avoid cliches and stereotypes. It’s just a masterpiece.

Concubine Yue was giving very much “nobody can bully or talk shit bout her-EXCEPT me”, this is the kind of drama I wanna see in these shows, the MC isn’t a rule lover and pitiful or meek in her dealings, her LI does everything he can to protect and support his love, and his family does what they can to support the MC too, and an Emperor who’s with all the shenanigans! U g h I’m so in love with this show. Zhao Luis, Leo Wu, you’ve completely outdone yourselves in my eyes. Can’t wait for the next episode!

Seriously, in all of the clips that a person could view of this drama, this is, by far, the best scene in the drama. When the BIG guns arrived unexpectedly, I was SO gratified the writers chose a glorious retribution of this mad, jealous and vindictive dowager consort. The Emperor is one of the coolest in ALL of the historical dramas ever produced. He's approachable and likeable, but strong in all the right places. I love that he gives deference to the Empress and Consort Yu and let them 'speak' it all out, coming up with the perfect solution, and THAT didn't include the kids! I love this drama. The writing is excellent, the cast is superb, and Lusi is at the center of it all. I'm convinced she can play ANY character and make us believe.

The was the best episode yet. I couldn't stop smiling!!! So glad The Emperor, Empress and Consort Yue checked those meddlesome old biddies 🙌🏽👏🏽👍🏼

There were people who were saying malicious thing like for e.g. the relative of the consort telling her emperor did this and that and gave importance to Empress etc, I like her character she chose to not cause any trouble and let others lead her to do things she doesn't want to, etc. Also, the empress she also doesn't get jealous of the consort etc Emperor is one of the luckiest character in C drama history to have wives who don't cause trouble for him.

The daughter and Mother bound was something special in the first part of this ep I really liked the behave and reaction of Niao Niao's mother and the fact that she defended her son-in-law🤌😌

That kiss was everything!!! It is a true testament of the depth of General Buyi's love for Shaoshang.💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I love concubine Yue the way she is so strong and just, like she has her grudge against LB mother, but she won't tolerate any bs about her.

No palace politics in any drama I’ve ever seen Korean/ Chinese will ever top these scenes I’ve just seen , the bickering , the conflict , the drama , the truth being used as a sword and actually chopping shit up , the most glorious poetic , clean cut throat beat down , best 4D chess I’ve ever witnessed as if your watching anime chess all at the same time , and this coming from someone whose only ever interested in the main leads themselves and never anything that’s going on around them , my hats of to the writers and actors ! Those scenes make you forget there are cameras in front of them all , it’s as if your someone how watching real people at that moment in time(and your somehow just there) and that’s on the chemistry that whole cast had in that scene , it was like live theatre but in a drama 🙌🏾

This was by far the best episode so far. It was very amusing to see the arrogance of the so-called noble ladies crumbled into little pieces by the concentrated imperial family. Of course, I like how our main couple benefits, but I'm almost happier for the old man. To be freed from this malignant burden must be heaven on earth for him.

This is the most satisfying episode ever. I am in love with concubine Yue. She is so strong and so good at talking. Each and every character brought their best on screen.

This is the best engagement party in a tv show! - Evil witches come to crash the engagement party - Niao Niao's mother slaps people like no one - The arrival of the queen - Niao Niao's punchlines - Consort Yue's punchlines and her majestic demeanor All the female characters had badass attitude! The male characters who are usually super powerful were in the background. - Li Yunrui was busy stopping male gossiping - The king said : "Hi aunty". Then carried out the decisions of Consort Yue and the Emperess - The husband of the main evil witch said : "Just let me out of it. .. I wanna divorce" - Ling Buyi was silently supporting his fiancee. - I seriously didn't even see Niao Niao's dad. Edit: I saw him, he was watching everything like he was in a theater

Yes, all the others were out on the walkway across from the building where the shouting matches were going on. They all saw the two being dragged out by the guards.

Consort Yue is a total badass who makes the best entrance claiming that the slave who needs a slap is a reference from her "aunt" to herself. She has the most epic lines. The character dialogue is so well written. I am very thankful for the English subtitles so I can enjoy this show too.

The writer deserves an award for this episode 😅😂 I was laughing so hard, concubine Yue is so savage I love her role a lot and the King watch them have a go at each other I like him🥰😂👏

WuLie seems to have the most amazing ability of changing his facial expressions, he's a very serious no nonsense general and only a second passes, then he becomes tender and sweet (the kiss to keep her from saying what he doesn't want to hear) I know everybody is pleased with Emperor, Empress and Con Yue showing up and taking care of business, my though right now though is with all the negative talk about Crown Prince not disciplining his relatives, how come Emperor has tolerated his Aunt's 'entitled' behavior ? Pushing her way into a family meal and this wedding even though she was not invited...

Every episode is a winner. In today’s episode NN had a 5 to 2 backing in defending herself in the final minutes of the episode. She had the emperor, empress, consort, old prince and LB. That was in privacy. In the banquet, she had her General Mother and best friend, future sister in law QQ for backing. In case you missed it and I did the replay, it was General Mom who stepped up to slap the maid and ultimately insult the old PC. Her (NN’s) ability to analyze and present her thoughts from a logical, unemotional position, shows she is a good match for LB. She has a strong sense of strategizing and is smart, that’s why that crazy scholar is still stalking her. He’s unwilling to admit his affections, but I sense he is waiting and watching for his opportunity to step onto the main stage. LB was exceptional in backing his betrothed in this episode. For those who haven’t, they should be totally in love with him now. SS’s heart was totally melted at the end of the episode! I’m looking forward to the fun, as we go into future episodes.

Well well well. There's so much to say but this ep went crazy. Imagine having all the royal elders at your betrothal banquet!! And as someone else mentioned, the fact that both expresses are supportive of the emperor respect each other and stand up for Niao Niao & LB really makes this special.

Best episode ever!, The way ALL the men stood by and did not say anything unless needed to, while the catfight between the women was going on was hillarious. 🤣 also the way they all backed up Shaoshang was great and refreshing.

This drama gives everyone their own fair share, they don't overshadow anyone, that is one of the reasons why this is so successful

No matter how many times I watch this series, I Love how the Empress’s voice stops the snobs, Princess Ruyang & Chenyang cold. I love the Regal Royal Eloquence of the Empress’s entrance! (Brilliantly portrayed by the Actress who plays her, and brilliant cinematography angle that captures her entrance). Bravo!!!!!

Zisheng made the best arrangement for shaosheng. First he sent her massage to tell her do whatever she wants. Then ,the empress came. At last he came with the emperor, consort yue and emperor's uncle to refute on behalf of her and support her. He literally gave the best betrothal ceremony to shaosheng 😘😘😘

Empress, Concubine Yue, emperor and the uncle all had a good rapport, It's like having a family picnic in the park while watching a ballgame!😂😂😂 They nailed this episode. Epic...

The most chillest person in this drama is emperor 💞

Those two old bats finally got what’s coming to them for being so nasty and demanding MY way is THE only way attitude! They certainty didn’t expect that result didn’t they!? Love it!

This is one of the sweeeeetest episodes. I must be prone to violence for the seen of Niao Niao's friend coming to her defense and the slap the mother gave the other servant that sent her whirling gives me such joy. This episode was epic. The beginning made me so happy 5:38 seeing them holding hands & just being like married couples already. The banquet made me notice Ling Buyi only looking at NN 36:05 the whole time while the ranting was going on 38:12. The emperor, empress and concubine clearly love NN already for LB 41:30. Lastly when LB and NN was alone 41:56 it was beautiful. Fate indeed was smiling at them.

Consort Yue is one of those characters who enters the scene once in a while, eats everyone's performance, then leaves like it's mild inconvenience to even grace everyone with her presence!

In this episode, I really feel like Zhao Lusi is getting powerful... She really changed herself to much for Leo Wu... In this drama they're a prefect couple... Love them... 🤩 Hope in the future there will be many more outstanding dramas to see... 🥰 Love From Pakistan 🇵🇰

I felt satisfied when the imperial family grouped up against the two baddies and protected our Main Leads😎. I wanted to rip em apart everytime I saw em pick on our main leads but now I can calm down hahaha And I loved how the women handled it for the emperor so that the emperor just had to 'wrap it all up' 😂👍 great series look forward to new eps while hoping that this masterpiece never ends😭

just like loved how zisheng came with the emperor, empress and consort yue to support his girl. He knew that his step mother would surely cause ruckus. So he was prepared. 😘😘

Aww...watching NN taking care of Buyi is melting my heart. The gentleness she's showing him right now is exactly what he needs. She's the right woman to be by his side...to help him navigate through all of his family drama. He just wanted her to meet his mother.I love how understanding NN is about his family situation. The way that she's defending him/her reassuring words is melting his heart. This man has a way with words...even I'm getting weak at the knees...lol NN telling hm that he's not cold/heartless means the world to him....but him telling her that his sincerity towards her is true and just as real as Marquis Cui.....these words just broke the mold. He's ready to give her everything....NN being concerned about him...and wanting him to get more rest is cute...but he doesn't want to give up the opportunity to see her....What if I miss you? This dude is hitting me in the feels....watching them trying to find a solution to their problem is heartwarming....she's confident that the Empress won't mind if she dose off when she's tired...she just wants to make sure that Buyi is taking care of himself. Buyi reminds her that her purpose for entering the palace is to learn from the Empress. I love NN's clapback...either I can pay attention to my studies or pay attention to you.....I can't do both so you decide...lol He didn't hesitate....he wanted all her attention directed towards him. I'm loving these sweet moments. These two are dangerously close to getting in the feels again....lol Ling Buyi is ready to move things along....when she started talking about her engagement to Luo Yao...he shut her up big time....that kiss was beautifully executed the excuse he used was perfect...If I was NN I would say things that he doesn't like all the time just to have him shut me up with a kiss. Madam Cheng reaction to their decision to hold the engagement ceremony in 3 days is priceless. She wasn't expecting Ling Buyi to be so reckless when it comes to his engagement...but the man is ready for the next step...and NN is all for it. Here comes the fake ass stepmother...they just decided to move up the engagement and she already knows about it...I wonder if she has people watching Buyi's manor. Madam Cheng is still holding a grudge against Madam Ling for pretending to be sick/refusing to send over the betrothal gifts....like mother, like daughter....lol I love the way NN is handling his fake stepmom. She isn't holding back at all. She has no respect for madam Ling. Madam Cheng doesn't know what to do at this point...all she can do at this point is to back NN. Her fake ass thinks she can intimidate NN...she's barking up the wrong tree. NN will not be bullied by anyone especially her. NN is too funny. She's embarrassing the hell out of her fake future mother-in-law. Telling her that Madam Huo wasn't willing to share her marriage bed with her was hitting below the belt but funny as hell....even Lianfang had to laugh....It's the first time that Madam Cheng seems proud of her daughter's blatant disrespect...lol This woman crossed the line...with her so-called gifts....when NN leaned forward to rest on the table...I knew it was on...she's about to take her down. When she told her that she hasn't even touched Ling Buyi's bed yet...but she expects those women to share his bed with her...I couldn't stop laughing... NN was at the top of her game. Madam Ling leaving in disgust is icing on the cake. She really believes that she can prevent NN from entering the Ling family...she doesn't know Ling Buyi at all...He will burn down the house for NN...with the Emperor's blessing. This woman better recognize that everyone that's gunning for NN has lost. The delusional princess is a prime example...if she doesn't want to end up like her...she better back off. I love it...Buyi/NN planned everything...NN wasn't worried at all about Madam Ling's threat. She's confident enough in Ling Buyi's plans to insult his fake stepmother. She knows that he's going to have her back no matter what...she doesn't have to fear a thing....Plus they have the Emperor/Empress backing so nobody can defy an Imperial decree not even Madam Ling. I love Afei...his total disregard for Madam Ling's presence is hilarious. I love his comeback whenever she questions him....he basically told her that she's not an important guest so they didn't even both to add her to the guest list...He took pleasure in turning her away...and I'm all for it. General Ling thought of everything...he even sent a message to NN telling her to do her thing...and he will back her up. He already knew that Madam Ling was going to try/cause problems. Seriously Stalker Yuan needs to sit his ass down somewhere....he wants to stop her engagement with a lame ass excuse. I'm so tired of him. She's rejected him so many times already that I've lost count...if he doesn't understand that by now...he never will. She's going to have to crush his heart into a million pieces for him to catch a clue. I'm all for it at this point because he's getting on my nerves. Madam Ling went and got reinforcements....she wanted consort Ruyang's help to stop the engagement...these two women are biting off more than they can chew. Ling Buyi already gave NN the all clear to handle her business...no matter who it is....she's not going to stand by and let these two evil women bully her. She has the backing of the entire Cheng family including QQ. I love the way NN walked in the room...her stone face is ready to handle her business. Consort Ruyang severely underestimated NN....she just got owned...lol She tried to embarrass NN but ended up with egg on her face. NN stood tall and without fear. She didn't back down even when that old hag told her servants to hold her....My girl has balls of steel...Madam Cheng trying to calm the situation and then realizing their evil intentions...all bets were off at this point...she wasn't going to stand idly by and watch them humiliate her family. Damn I'm loving this....NN's mother had her back...and so did QQ. They weren't playing around. Consort Ruyang just got owned once again...she didn't think they would defend themselves against her because of her status...but she was WRONG...Madam Ling trying to fan the flames to make her take action against them is shameless...she didn't have enough balls to deal with NN on her own so she went to Consort Ruyang for help....but it's all falling apart because NN isn't afraid of them. She's ready to do battle because she knows that her help is on the way. NN gave them both a smack down...she embarrassed them in front of everybody. I'm loving it. Boom and it ends just like that...I love it. The Empress showed up for NN..and was ready to do battle. I love the look on NN's face when the Empress arrives. She's so happy to see her. The Empress is grace under pressure. She's moving this fight to a private venue...she's not going to let this go. I love the way she defends NN. Everybody was waiting outside to see how it all ended...lol Madam Cheng was waiting for an invitation to stay but they didn't give it to her. Her presence was not needed...lol They didn't even regard her as NN's mother....lol I love it. Consort Ruyang is running on borrowed time. The Emperor/Consort Yue warned her about interfering in Buyi's engagement...they told her specifically that anybody that tries to stop it...will pay a heavy price. She still thinks that her so-called status will exempt her from facing the consequences of her actions. What an epic entrance by the Emperor/Buyi and consort Yue. Buyi looks good in his outfit..I love the way he looks at NN when he enters. Consort Ruyang and Madam Ling knew they were screwed...Consort Ruyang trying to turn the tables on NN is hilarious....she's the only one that's buying her own lie. She should've just kept her mouth shut. I love how NN responds to her...lol Consort Yue never disappoints...she threw her argument right back in her face...lol Consort Ruyang wasn't prepared for that...NN has backup. Consort Yue's epic take down of consort Ruyang is the highlight of the entire episode for me. I've been waiting a long time for her to be taken down a peg or two. Her karma is very befitting for her. I'm happy for her husband he's spent enough time living in misery with this woman. I'm guessing Madam Ling wishes she would've stayed her butt home....instead of crashing their engagement banquet. Ling Buyi/NN took down two birds with one stone...what a flawless plan...and perfectly executed. Consort Ruyang is forever blaming everyone else for her granddaughter's fate. She caused her granddaughter to suffer such an ugly fate because she continued to indulge her fantasy about marrying Ling Buyi...even after he told her that he wasn't interested in her. Her husband gave them a choice...to either marry or become a nun...she chose the latter...so this is all on them. NN shutting her down when she tried to lie about her encounter with Madam Ling...and setting the record straight was a site to behold. Ling Buyi was very impressed with his future wife. NN's clap back at Madam Ling when she pretended to be humiliated is funny as hell...even consort Yue had to applaud her....Prince Ruyang is happier than a kid in a candy store...he's loving every moment of this....he even channeled Old Madam Cheng with his epic performance....I couldn't stop laughing especially when he encouraged his wife to die...he's a man at the end of his rope...lol NN slithering over toward Ling Buyi...and watching the fallout was the icing on the cake. The Empress/Consort Yue tag teaming to ensure that consort Ruyang is punished is everything. Prince Ruyang is happy with the outcome...he's ready to celebrate....lol The smile that Buyi/NN give each other is out of this world...I love it...mission completed

@@shalenij1036 this is one of the few dramas that I was truly invested in especially the relationship between Buyi/NN. This was one of the best dramas that I've watched in 2022....It's also one of my favorites. I continue to recommend this drama to all my Facebook friends.

Please don't judge me. I have been watching this drama 5 or 6 times and still enjoying it. Besides ZiSheng and Shao Shang, the Emperor is my favorite character in this drama. Especially when he throws his tantrums. This is one of the best dramas of Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Si that I have ever watched. ThumbsUp for the other actors and actresses, writer, director, and producer as well. Well done ❤❤

THIS ENTIRE EPISODE IS A MASTERPIECE DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE OUR NIAO NIAO if she loves you she will go for the jugular of anyone and doesn't stop and people say she isn't worthy of our beloved GENERAL oh yes she is and everyone knows it which is why they attack her but they also need to stop underestimating her mother as well she is MILITARY and will take you down. You would think that all these vipers would realise that they want this girl to marry Zisheng because the Emperor himself has to give the approval in the first place. They invited them to the palace to check her out and they fell in love with her because she was what Zisheng needed she is resourceful loyal and when she loves someone she gives it her all. They have always known that he would not wed until he found the one who would walk by his side. Not in front of him or behind him but right there next to him and he found it without even knowing what she looked like. Their very first meeting she showed him she would shop her own family members and she paid back anyone who hurt those she loves even Yang Yang she loved.

Concert yue, niao niao and her mother, and emperor's uncle 🔥🔥🔥 nailed this episode 🤣🤣🤣

This is the best episode every ….I just like the way zishang step mom was humiliated with that old Woman 🤣😂😂😂🤣

Zisheng always wears dark or dull colour clothes, seeing him in red colour dress is really nice❤😀shaoshang also wore red colour.... It's nice to see them in matching Outfits😍 Emperor, Emperor and consort yue as usual done their part so well😃and at 38:15 zisheng and niaoniao are in their own world 🤣🤣

Loved all the interactions between Shaoshang and Ling.

First the voice then she appears at the door and I yelled EMPRRSS! What a glorious moment. Followed by ever more satisfying moments.

I think it's the first time I really feel the love Mme Cheng has for her daughter

I love how the emperor let the Cats fight while he just take the back sit to enjoy the drama!😅 best emperor indeed! Yue fie is the perfect person to handle any catfight! 😂 she can silence even that rotten Rouyoung fie! The politic understanding between both queens is rare to see, it gives more pleasure than normal harem fights!

Niao Niao's mother is learning that her daughter's skill at getting her barbs across have gotten better and more accurate! Thanks to the teaching of the spoiled princesses!

I really like when zisheng allows shaoshang to hold his hand when she comes near him.....he is too adorable ❤

So many interesting events happened in this ep but did anyone one notice Qiqi trying to shield yang yang when the guards entered it was so cute 🥰

I like the way His majesty let the ladies do the fighting then he just pass the judgment ❣️❣️

Concubine Yue keeps busting my brain! Her speech mannerism holds water. I also love the fact that the king always give a sigh of relief whenever she steps in. We also have to give accolades to Qiqi who always stands up for her friend no matter who the opponent is. Such an icon.
